Joey Ramone has one of those voices that is incomparable to any other voice in the music industry, both past, present, and probably future. As I was listening to this song, I was trying to figure what makes it so awesome and I found that Joey is like all of the world's singers packed in to one body. He can have clear pristine voice when singing ballads or he can have a sort of growl when singing "harder" songs. It really is amazing to watch this video.

Look up Tommy Ramones acoustic version when he was an old dude. Its quite beautiful. From what I read, this is the very first Ramones song. Tommy wrote it.

Wow they sounded fuckin' great there, joey in terrific voice, and i always love it when they do the ballads live cause they fatten up the guitar sound compared to the record. of course, they rarely did these songs live, so excellent post! i guess boyfriend would sound shitty faster, so they couldn't play it much deeper in the '80's when they played so fast. ONE COMPLAINT: harsh ending! you cut it off right as johnny was going into a super rare improve solo! 2 rare ramones events back to back!
The Punkj Era - saw them in like 77 & didn't even know who they were - but they were so fucking good - I still remember it - they rocked & it was in a little bar in Providence Rhode Island.

I'm new to guitar, bur noticed chord hopping gives rock-songs that extra "filth" that make it so much cooler. Some times it's nice to slide tho, depends on the song.
Yes. He does chord hopping in most (if not all) of the songs. People usually think it's easy to play Ramones songs, but it's actually pretty hard to play exactly like Johnny played.
