Sam Walton, may have had flaws as stated, but one thing he strictly promoted while he was alive, was Buy American. My kids grew up with Garanimal sweat shirts and pants made in America, and I still remember in the early 90's, walking around the Walmart and seeing the Made in America Flag stickers on price tags. As soon as he was gone, his family immediately tore them down and embraced the high margin Import market which, due to their high volume purchasing power, caused a lot of American manufacturers to shut down or move overseas.
This is why I haven't seen the inside of a Target store in decades, they don.t allow Toys foe Tots anywhere near their stores, they refuse to support our troops, so I refuse to support them. There are plenty of other stores to go to.
Walmart should also donate the truckloads of food and produce which gets thrown into their garbage compactors day by day. (I am talking truckloads per 1 store)

I’m not going to defend Walmart because I also think it is a crappy store. The reason I was given about asking for donations to charities is that they don’t want homeless people asking for donations in the store. Homeless people are not allowed to ask for donations on Walmart property to keep them from doing it at the front doors like they used to do.

If you are a Veteran you are entitled to wear the uniform on special occasions as long as it is not a political event or one that would discredit the service. The Marine Corps created the Toys for Tots and it is one of their authorized events which they support and they have authorized service members to wear the uniform to promote.
