She also said after the battle the slytherin house changed to the better (despite that their reputation was still not the best) because the last few generations of slytherins were manipulated by voldemorts and his death eaters presence and the reputation they gave their house. Also while not many she also wrote a few good slytherins in the story. Slughorn is a little selfish but still a good guy and likeable. He even duelled voldemort in the end battle. Andromeda was kind and married a muggleborn and hated her familys radical pure blood obsessions. Snape was an ass but he was an all grey character, very brave and choose the right side. The greengrass family were considered nice people, sirius uncle alphard seemed to be kind and was kicked out of the family, his brother regulus was a death eater but realized his errors and startet to fight against voldemort knowing it would be his death. Merlin was also a slytherin. So I dont think jkr sees house slytherin as unredeemable or full of bad people. She made clear that the last few generations were manipulated by voldemort and his followers (there are a lot of death eater children im harrys generation who are under the influence of their parents views) but she said a few years after the final battle and without that bad influence the house changed to the better but still suffers from bad reputation hence why little albus doesnt want to end up there and harry reasures him that it doesnt matter if he ends up there. I can’t believe JK Rowling would do this to us. Just backstabbing our true inner ambitions and intention to be great. I’ve been a Slytherin since I was 10 years old, and after watching your videos, which they are fantastic btw, I really believe now that JK Rowling herself started this stereotypical Slytherin bullshit and not the villains coming from Slytherin house themselves. Don’t you think JK Rowling owes a huge and sincere apology to ALL of the Slytherin‘ out there for starting this crap? She’s definitely not treating us right and she’s needs to admit it and owe it to us.
I love this. All 3 videos were 100% my rage rant I keep giving to anyone who will listen 😂 Anther point I feel the need to mention: Ok when Harry is all freaked he was almost sorted into slytherin in the first book cuz he's experiencing the bias that Rowling had herself towards the house, at first I was like oh ok this is really cool, I wonder how she's going to resolve this conflict! I thought when Harry confesses this concern to Dumbledore the moment had come for shit about slytherin to be laid to rest. And then I realized, as soon as Dumbledore spoke, that all the bias and conflict I thought was really clever tension building was just Rowling's own opinion imposed on the HP world. Dumbledore's answer that "it's our choices that make the person" should and could have packed so much more punch than they did!! It's a perfectly true and powerful observation, but when paired with rest of his statement, that Harry is proven to be a "good person" cuz he "chose to be in Gryffindor", it loses its meaning. Like oh, I get it, default slytherins r all evil, Gryffindors r all good, cuz #logic.
Harley Quinn you make a great point! Also I feel like Dumbldore is just a Slytherin masquerading as a Gryffindor so his opinion is just sooooo worthless to me. But alas, what can I say, I’m anti Dumbles. Truthfully though, I don’t think Harry should’ve been in Slytherin. He didn’t have any of those snakey qualities that make the house so great. He is the epitome of a Gryffindor.
@@thebrooklynquintana Yes!!! My sister and I both keep saying Dumbledore is really a Slytherin!! And 100% agreed on Harry being a total Gryffindor; but it was later explained in the books that the Hat was sensing Voldemort's soul in Harry (since he was the last Horcrux) and that's why it thought he should be in Slytherin. So at least that was satisfactorily explained 😒 I'm anti Dumbledore too!! I honestly don't understand how Snape haters r so content to rag on him for all his less than awesome qualities and then give Dumbles a free pass for every shady thing he did/does. Tbh I think Snape is a better man than Dumbledore, because unlike Dumbles he actually changed completely from his gross past ways and Dumbledore just kinda.... redirected old habits. Plus, Dumbles' reason for changing heart was a shady one too (since everyone brings up WHY Snape changed as being ignoble as he seemed to not care being a Death Eater until Lily died). I have more to say on Snape's reason for switching sides to combat that but that's another discussion entirely 😂 Dumbles' reason for changing is selfish too. He lost his sister. So he stopped being a pre-Death Eater. But he let Grindlewald run wild for the longest time again cuz he used to love the guy! And everything he did was using other people, not caring how he hurt them, to accomplish his bigger goal .... which he only was committed to because he felt guilty. And explain to me how he's supposedly sooooo much better and more pure than Snape???? Also I loved your rant on snape in the previous video because 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌 yes. So much yes.
@@thebrooklynquintana And also!! The part where Snape confronts Dumbledore that he was "raising the boy like a pig for the slaughter", Snape is appalled. And Dumbles is like "don't tell me you've come to care for the boy, Severus?" And Snape's like lol no my opinion hasn't changed but I swore to protect Lily's son, and that's what I'm going to do as penance. And he's upfront honest the whole series how he feels, even if it makes him look bad (like when he admits he wasn't upset lily's son or husband were gonna be killed as long as she was safe. Or again when he says he still doesn't gaf about Harry). And it's like, dayummm. Cuz Dumbledore manipulated snape years b4 by saying "if you loved lily at all you'll help protect her son". Which seemed to gel with him, hence he changed. Whereas b4 he was like fuck everyone let's just save lily, Dumbledore made him realize to love someone you must expand beyond that person to care how the others around them affect them. So snape committed to protecting Harry, even tho he had his issues with him. For lily. Cuz he realized that's what she would've wanted. And he did love her, and so he does the best he can with his limited understanding of how to love (so much angst in his backstory 😭😭). Vs Dumbledore, who grew up knowing full well what love was ect, manipulated him using that knowledge, and then poor Harry, and then he's shook snape seems to care for him when he questions his motives. Like "oh come on, don't tell me you care, cuz that will really mess this whole thing up. Cuz I pretend I care but I thought we were on the same page of not giving a single fuck about Harry's well being". And why is snape upset? He's upset because Dumbledore isn't trustworthy, and he isn't loyal, and he's dishonest. And those contrast starkly against Snape who has all those qualities
Ravenclaw here!!! But always in the first line on the Slytherin defence squad! 💙💚 To all the people that think: "It started as children book series, kids needs to see things black and white first" since I was 8 years old, reading the books for the first time, I didn't like the Slytherin stereotipy! I always thinking "that's like label a person without know her/him, it's wrong". Support!
at this point i just had to convince myself that the cursed child was just a fever dream, or a bad fanfic i happened to read, honestly it just broke my heart to read what utter crap had just been published in the name of Harry Potter LMAO
Have you ever read a web novel called “Mother of Learning”? It’s kind of similar to Harry Potter, but with a very well developed, hard magic system. The main character strikes me as a Slytherin, though I can definitely see arguments for him being a Ravenclaw instead.
I was really happy, when I first heard that Harry's son would be put into a Slytherin house, but then... How I understand you! He is not a slytherin and, oh god, even Scorpius isn't.
I have a bunch personal headcanons for the cursed child or just the next generation in general and one of them is that Albus is really good at something (but it was irrelevant to the story so it was never brought up) and that leads to his ambition of being the best at it in the world making him a slytherin. It sometimes changes, but currently it is that Albus is an extremely talented violin an piano player and have won multiple international competitions and played as the soloist for many professional orchestra ever since he was a child. We never get to see what interests Albus have in the story unlike Scorpius who like reading and stuff, so I just have a bunch if headcanons for him. Sorry for the long comment, I was bored.
Thanks for voicing all of my mood lol, it was so sad seeing little baby draco having his dreams crushed when they didnt end up winning the house cup. That was so not fair and if that happened to my eleven year old ass i wouldve definitely cried and told my parents about it
oooo I bet Draco did tell his father about it! lol but I couldn't agree more. I mean damn man they were 11 and Dumbles just wrecked their self-esteem like it was nothing
@@thebrooklynquintana it really does feel like rowling forgot that...they were kids, not some evil mastermind out for blood lol. Like if i were a child and some kid at scho got rewarded a whole broom for breaking the rules? And then the school broke the rules and let that kid in the team? Its like the whole system is out against you. No wonder Draco likes to tell his father about it all the time, his familys the only ones willing to listen to his perspective.
@@lillyputian5907 I want to believe that when Draco had his dad buy the Slytherin team brooms so he could be on the team, Snape was secretly pleased like 'oh yessss this will totally mess with the little Gryffindor shits let's do it I don't even care that you bought your way on'. because, let's bet real, the only people watching out for the Slytherin kids and rewarding them for work well done is Snape because he understands what it's like to be pushed aside in favor of the golden boy Gryffindors. well, Snape and the other adult Slytherins who are just tired of Dumbledore's shit
I would argue against Hermione being a Ravenclaw. She is intelligent and intellectual but she is dogmatic. There is a right answer and a wrong answer. You can't apperate in Hogwarts. Period. This thing works like this. Done. Hermione is interested in learning but not exploring or challenging what she learns. (Also welcome to Florida)
off topic but your dog is the cutest. i have a husky. used to have a german shepherd but he passed in 2017. i absolutely love shepherds and he looks so cozy on the couch waiting for you to finish filming and get belly rubs.
I don't understand how Slytherin traits are seen as bad more so than they are seen as good. I mean you can spin any of the house traits to have positive or negative connotations really. Cunning is the ability to maximize your options and do everything that you can to succeed. It's playing the game to the fullest extent without breaking any rules (or at the very least avoiding consequences by not getting caught). People look down on it because it blindsides the other players, but when you're trying to win, you don't want all your cards on the table do you? When Slytherins are cunning it's called conniving and dishonest, but when Gryffindors do it it's brave and intelligent (Polyjuice potion in the girl's bathroom to gain important information is certainly a cunning plan imo, and nobody harps on them about it). Without the desire to improve you settle for something you may not be happy with. Some might be content with that, but is it bad to want more? I don't think so. Ambition is having a very specific goal, a plan to get there, and the fortitude to follow through. I could have the most ruthless ambition to own the best dog shelter or become the most capable neurosurgeon in the world, just as much as I could want to be the president or a CEO with millions of dollars. The only difference is the public perception of those end goals. Ambition is a great thing either way. I don't see how resourcefulness, fraternity, or self-preservation are inherently bad things at all either.
As a joke: it sometimes occurs to me that JK Rowling is so genius that she intuitively created such a complicated multilayered world that even she herself doesn't understand it properly🤔...... 🤣🤣🤣
Scorpius should be in Hufflepuff, true. She should of made Albus have more Slytherin traits than Harry has. My new short film idea for the Next generation needs suggestions on how to cooperate those in the characters.
slytherins need more respect its actually getting annoying at this point. we are great people and if your a slytherin never doubt yourself or think your evil just because your willing to do anything in your power to be successful we do not deserve to just be called the "evil" house because in the long run these are very good quality's to have in a person. My friend watched the movies for the first time this week and I was telling her I was a slytherin and she was like "oh the evil house" and I'm highkey over it (as I'm writing this i realize i sound very slytherin and I actually think its funny but if you make a house that is prideful and fraternal what do you expect will happen)
Cursed Child isn't canon. Rowling didn't even write the original plot - it was a fanfiction. She just said that it should be canon, so it got released as a play WITH HER NAME ON IT. 😂 Idek if the real writer got credit for it, but it certainly doesn't correlate properly with the rest of the story. I will say though that it's understandable if Albus and Scorpius ended up being sorted into Slytherin through either latent talent, values or persuasion (whether that be through someone else or them. The Sorting Hat is a sentient being, and therefore can likely be reasoned with). But it does sound as though it wasn't thought through very well. Also, wouldn't Albus have already had knowledge of the Time Turner, seeing as Harry, Hermione and Ron used it before? That's what gets me - Albus probably would've had more common sense than to go through with something involving the Time Turner. Scorpius, perhaps not, but Albus? Makes no sense.
I am a Huffflepuff but I am also a Slytherpuff And it's kind weird bacause J.K Rowling Loves Hufflepuff And she hates Slytherinn But I love both!!!! 💚💛💚💛💚
I still don't understand why so many wizards followed "you know who"... Like whats the point? what was their plan? killing all mud bloods and serving a guy just because he's the strongest? it just doesnt sound like a smart thing to do... like slytherins are proud but not dumb
I’m very late to the party but I’ve now watched the 3 parts and I’m surprised you haven’t mentioned that the most powerful wizard of all time, Merlin, was a good Slytherin and that he actively worked for wizards/witches and muggles living together in harmony.
Tbh the whole cursed child thing is not cannon to me like it was so...not harry Potter it felt like it was in the uncanny valley from cover to back. Also glad they left out ravenclaw again in another piece of content but I mean- we weren't touched by that horrendous story so I'm ok with that.
I understand fans being upset with The Cursed Child. I read it and it was okay. I think my biggest gripe is how it is now considered canon. IMO there is too much that fandom considers canon besides the seven books: the movies, tweets, Pottermore, interviews and games. I probably have missed something. I don't have time to keep up with all of it. I also don't want to. I have my own imagination that can fill in the parts that need more explanation. I personally consider only the seven books official canon and beleive that we all have our own personal canon.
Albus’ Slytherin Traits: Resourceful - he was able to get out of many tight spots in the book using resourcefulness. Example: he came up the the Demiguise and blanket plan. Leadership: it’s clear that Albus is a leader, he likes to take charge and make the plans. Self preservation: beside his -love- friendship with Scorpius, he pretty much looks out for #1. Determination: he was extremely determined to prove himself to his father (ambition also works here.). Albus Severus Potter is *definitely* a Slytherin. Scorpius, however, could probably be in Ravenclaw. I do believe that he could possibly be in Slytherin though. Oof what a rant that was lol
I agree... I was so ... Unimpressed... I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW I WAS A SLYTHERIN BACK THAN ! My reaction : Wow ... That is garbage ... I regret to have bought this book .
If she wanted to do not hate slytherin she should have mad albus and Delphi the main characters. She should have made Delphi good but like gets bullied cuz she’s Voldemort’s daughter. Then she should make albus The only person who doesn’t hate Delphi. Then Harry hates her and there is a whole fight between father and son bout her.
I’m late to this, but does anyone else think doing something like that seems just a little bit too, I don’t know, clever, of JK Rowling, especially since I’d assume that she believes herself a Gryffindor type? I can’t see how writing a book to appease the Slytherin fan community is noble or brave in any way, rather it actually seems like a more Slytherin-like response, as true bravery would entail coming out and saying as clearly as possible “yeah, I don’t really care for Slytherins, yes, I favor Gryffindor. Got a problem with it?” or something similar. I don’t know if anyone else sees this the same way I do, maybe I’m just a human who’s tired of hearing from her friends about how I’m ‘too nice’ to be a Slytherin and that I’m probably a Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff or literally any other house (even made-up ones) besides Slytherin.
Lol no way slytherins like to hide the mood. We prefer to brood in isolation like Draco crying in a bathroom or Snape (and this is just an educated guess) crying over a glass of Cabernet in the forbidden forest while he gathers potions ingredients. You never let them see you cry!
"J.K Rowling Doesn't Understand Slytherin" You do understand that she wrote the books including Slytherin, don't you? Why are you saying that she didn't understand what she wrote especially since it's an incredibly massive hit? Harry had to have a rival in the books and JK Rowling chose Slytherin house to be that rival. The rival had to be at least partially evil. This helps the main character's storyline as a hero. It's just that simple.
U believe that you know better than the person(j.k rollings) that sat down and thought of an idea and then wrote a book from her imagination. She wrote the deem book! Miss Slytherin.

Harley Quinn couldn’t agree more !!
To all the people that think: "It started as children book series, kids needs to see things black and white first" since I was 8 years old, reading the books for the first time, I didn't like the Slytherin stereotipy!
I always thinking "that's like label a person without know her/him, it's wrong".
Support!
on behalf of all snakes, we thank you for your support
at this point i just had to convince myself that the cursed child was just a fever dream, or a bad fanfic i happened to read, honestly it just broke my heart to read what utter crap had just been published in the name of Harry Potter LMAO
So what you’re saying is that Albus is talented at classical music
Thank you so much! He’s my special boy love that dog to death
I have to agree with this for the most part, but I still can't help but like that the two were sorted into Slytherin
I don't see how resourcefulness, fraternity, or self-preservation are inherently bad things at all either.
totally agree !
@@thebrooklynquintana Yay! I love your videos by the way. I just found your channel through this "series" of Slytherin videos and they're great
@@erincorcoran5936 thank you so much! means a lot!!
As a joke: it sometimes occurs to me that JK Rowling is so genius that she intuitively created such a complicated multilayered world that even she herself doesn't understand it properly🤔...... 🤣🤣🤣
to me the whole cursed child story felt like a fan-fiction, i somewhat liked it, but still...
Scorpius should be in Hufflepuff, true. She should of made Albus have more Slytherin traits than Harry has. My new short film idea for the Next generation needs suggestions on how to cooperate those in the characters.
One dislike is from JK Rowling
I m Gryffindor but I don't hate Slytherins
No wonder J. K. Rowling is a Gryffindor...
slytherins need more respect its actually getting annoying at this point. we are great people and if your a slytherin never doubt yourself or think your evil just because your willing to do anything in your power to be successful we do not deserve to just be called the "evil" house because in the long run these are very good quality's to have in a person.
Totally agree with you!
Eh, cursed child isn’t even cannon, it’s just fan fiction made in part by the author
Perfect summation
she is the author
yo the truth is though, you probably really a Hufflepuff in real life though
Guest child characters I should be noted
I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!!
At this point I think jk Rowling is just in it for the money. That’s why she did cursed child and has all the new games and merch.
Gryffindor : Leo
Slytherin : Scorpio
I am a Huffflepuff but I am also a Slytherpuff
And it's kind weird
bacause J.K Rowling
Loves Hufflepuff
And she hates Slytherinn
But I love both!!!!
💚💛💚💛💚
Thank you for helping us Slytherins
Scorpion is a slytherin because he is so determined to charge the reputation of his family and last name.
Where can I find the whole thing with Harry's son
Cursed child. Though I don’t recommend reading it it’s terrible lol
Never heard of ravenclaw 🤣🤣🤣
too funny! Keep it up
Wait.... what house is J.K Rowling in?
Starry Anime she’s a gryffindor
Discworld is better.
Slytherin here and agree 100/
J.K Rowling is a slytherin
Albus just seems to moody to be anything other than Slytherin lol
Lol no way slytherins like to hide the mood. We prefer to brood in isolation like Draco crying in a bathroom or Snape (and this is just an educated guess) crying over a glass of Cabernet in the forbidden forest while he gathers potions ingredients. You never let them see you cry!
Brooklyn Q As a Slytherin myself who hides 80% of their emotion, I 100% agree. I guess a better word would be pessimistic or brooding.
I want to know your grandma's opinion please.
