I’m into the first interlude of Words of Radiance and I’m dumbfounded that this series hasn’t been made into a movie or tv series lol. Sanderson is the GOAT imo lol
Not me feeling like im better than all my reading friends after reading the first two in a week while they dont even know the books exsist yet. Im just freaking buzzing over here
I did it and it went just fine for me, however, it does have lots of information as to why some characters act how they act in Oathbringer Or, I read Oathbringer and then Edgedancer immediately, and that helped fill in the slight gaps before starting RoW
I read the entire series before reading any of the novellas. And I didn’t notice it affect my experience in any negative way. But they are meant to be read in between.
I like both of them a lot and I’d recommend reading them, but Edgedancer is probably not necessary to read as most of the events that happen in that novella can be inferred from the text of the later book. Dawnshard probably will be in a similar boat. However, both of them introduce a concept that will probably play a large role in the back 5 of Stormlight so you might want to read to get a teaser of that.
You don't need to read them to understand the rest of the story. If you like Lift then read Edgedancer. If you like The Lopen and Rysn then read Dawnshard. I think they are great, but not needed. At the end of the day its just more Stormlight so I say go for it. But I get why people wouldn't want to.
I mean...they're all good, but if I did have to rank them...Oathbringer and Rhythm of War would probably be closer to the bottom of the list. You just can't beat the first two.
Disagree. Oathbringer is the best quite easily to me. Rhythm of war is definitely the outlier for me, quite easily the worst (not to say it’s bad). It definitely Felt like a “waiting for the ending” kind of story, setting up the halfway series climax coming in the fall.
Venli's and Eshonai's flashbacks were not as gripping as the others. They're mainly there as plot points to show the meddling of the Scadrians trying to return the Fused. Not only that, but everybody was very much separate from each other in this book. Kaladin and Lift were the only Radiants awake for most of the occupation of the tower. Navani and Raboniel carried the book and still it was a long haul. There were big moments with huge implications, but even still. It reads differently from the rest.
Edgedancer and Dawnshard should have the same artistic covers as the other books.
They more or less do on the UK covers
I fully expect an update once Wind and Truth and Horneater comes out.🤣
im on oathbring now! I love this series so much. Kaladin Stormblessed forever!
I love the series

“And for my boon” though
Nah that's character development
He deserved a boon 100%
Ok, but what about that scene with Moash, Graves and Kaladin tho?
Damnation, Kaladin...
What in the Almighty's eleventh name were you thinking?
We don't talk about that 😒
Not me feeling like im better than all my reading friends after reading the first two in a week while they dont even know the books exsist yet. Im just freaking buzzing over here
Can I ask how you read so damn quick? It’s taken me like a year and a half to get through the whole series 😅
@@R1v0rian power was out and I had nothing else to do lol
2 in a week!? Lol okay guy
So you read about 300 pages a day?
I’m not saying Way of Kings is the best book… but I just don’t think any book In the series is better than it.
I wholeheartedly disagree with every fiber of my being
@@Existomalus and I support your decision to do so.
I think way of kings is pretty amazing its my second favorite so far
Loved edgedancer
Unpopular opinion I think The Way of Kings is the second best behind Outhbringer
Yo, the GOAT is Way of Kings. That introduction and world building are top tier….and let’s be honest ppl, WoR & Oathbringer beat 75% of RoW
Wayof kings has yet to be equalled. The bridge scene and Kalinin the arena are too good
@@mikem9309we have to go back.
is it ok to read oathbringer before edgedancer?
Não recomendo. O paradeiro e atitude de alguns personagens não vai fazer sentido se tu fizer isso
I did it and it went just fine for me, however, it does have lots of information as to why some characters act how they act in Oathbringer
Or, I read Oathbringer and then Edgedancer immediately, and that helped fill in the slight gaps before starting RoW
You can, but it is recommended to read Edgedancer first

I read Edgedancer and I barely remember anything from that book@@The_Blazelighter
what is he pointing at in oatbringer?
Is it important to read edgedancer and dawnchard? I really wanna know
yes
It is important, and unless there are special circumstances I would highly recommend reading them, but they are not absolutely necessary.

Nah, skip edgedancer and go straight to dawnshard. The Lopin!

What’s the rank of the vids
You mean it gets better even after book 1?
After watching this video, I'm not sure I understand these memes, and what they are trying to say, anymore...
Rhythm of war was so jarring i actually haven't had the energy to pick up another of his books.
So disappointed.
I mean...they're all good, but if I did have to rank them...Oathbringer and Rhythm of War would probably be closer to the bottom of the list. You just can't beat the first two.
I agree with you but you can’t deny how epic the ending was and the larger scale meanings of the last 2
Plus Kaladins 4th ideal has what I’ve been waiting for since book 1

Man Rhythm of War was such a bad book. I hated almost 70% of it.
Why is that? I’m almost finished with book 3 and honestly this isn’t the first time I’ve heard this.
RoW was super mid compared to the previous 3
*Navani sciences for another 30 pages*
What do you mean mid?
Venli's and Eshonai's flashbacks were not as gripping as the others. They're mainly there as plot points to show the meddling of the Scadrians trying to return the Fused. that's your opinion, personally it was my favorite
I personally thought oathbringer was the mid one of the 4
@@christianrich8316 yeah I 100% agree
Rhythm of war is mid sorry to say
