We use coconut oil for short dives and castor oil for long dives. Best env friendly option.

Love the conditioner! My hair is also super long. I have been braiding my hair before bun lately for dives... thank you for the ladies show today! 🎉

Going to get the Stream2Sea stuff now. My hair is as long as Jackie’s and I both put it in a ponytail and slick it with conditioner. Of course I dive cold here in Monterey so have a hood. Going to see how this works when I dive warm in Kona over Xmas. Great job.

Conditioner under a hood helps as well. Keeps hair from knotting up.

My hair is chin length, thin, fine and delicate. I also use S2S after I get out of the water! My difference is I always put a boonie hat on at all times I'm out of the water, mostly for sun protection. While diving, I use DiveBuddy bandanas. My hair will not stay in any braid, bun, twist or any style, and it's so wispy it gets caught in everything. The bandana is very wide and covers at least half My head. It also has a hole in the back for a pony tail with a bungee cord to cinch it down. They come in all sorts of fun colors and patterns. Great coverage of a good topic!

Once upon a time when I had long hair (bottom of my shoulder blades length) Tight bun + coconut oil (warm weather as the cold might be an issue) was my go to for dives, water sports, and extended recreational trips. Little goes a long way and I believe its reef/environmentally safe. Please correct me if I'm wrong about the environment friendly bit.

Great tips ladies! I’m going to try applying the leave-in conditioner before diving.

Even for a guy, the idea of a leave-in conditioner is worthwhile. My fairly short hair still looks awful and is a bit brittle after diving.

Thank you for this!! I tried doing the French braid pigtails and my hair was getting super knotted and matted. I was at a loss

New to diving. You said something about your scuba shop in Indiana. Where is it and what is it called?

Suggestion for women-related diving topics would be diving when you have your period. What do most women use? Does diving make it worse for some?
