Hey Pally, just wanted to say I love watching your playthroughs. I love your positivity, humor, and general goofiness. By far the most enjoyable playthroughs I watch.
Kind of surprised Dungen isn't going for the "Kneel, Kneel, Kneel" weapon, but this seems fun too.
Pally I saw you beat Quelaag whith only a pyromancy flame, do not worry about releasing big videos! The more the merrier.

50:30 was absolutely glorious.
If you dont know already later on in the game after you upgrade a better scaling staff you can still use the gravity staff in your off hand and cast with the new staff to still get the added boost to gravity spells. Also at the minor erd tree in Caelid closest to Limgrave after you beat the tree avatar you get a crystal tear to use in your physic that makes it easier to stance break enemies. Also also i will say you might want to think of a backup strategy coz you will find that rock sling won't be knocking every boss around later in the game and/or in the dlc and against certain bosses, and the misericords damage will not get you through the fight unless you played the game longer than i have :p
Yea I gotta be honest, I’m not so sure on how the build’s gonna turn out 😅 Beating Margit is one thing. Beating lategame bosses is another
I did the same thing you're doing: beat all the rememberence bosses again before moving onto the DLC.

At the end there though, I don’t recommend killing Gostoc! You wanna leave him alive and do Nepheli’s questline, and then you can buy a max upgrade stone from him. But you need him alive 😅

"We can now cheat at the video game" ... well maybe. I've found that some bosses are actually harder to beat while using Summons. It can be harder to get the timing of dodging/blocking because it's hard to tell if the boss is targeting me as the player vs the summons. Granted some are easier because the Summon can tank or overpower the boss, but it depends.

After people become Ilithid, they "lose" their soul, because they basically die and the tadpole takes their place with some of their mind left behind. Maibe this is Dungen´s soul that found itself in the lands betwen.
I find it so funny that people gatekeep the summons so hard that they would rather call the dlc overtuned and give it negative rating on steam than to use it 😂 I mean if someone is so bad that they call the game unplayable why not just také everything they have to a boss 😂

One advantage is it can allow more freedom of movement. Free aiming attacks can also be very advantageous as they are harder to predict, dodge and parry. If you want to be a PVP god, you need to learn how to play this way. Otherwise it's generally harder to do, mostly for camera management reasons. So most people are better off using lock on the majority of the time. As for Pally. He just taught him to play this way in dark souls 1 and now finds it easier. In short the answer to both your questions is Yes.
