That's disappointing to see after wondering how the lighting would look for the last year I had a feeling it would be bad after Sideshow explicitly didn't show the light up function in their unboxing
I have noticed int he past Hot Toys' red lightsabers never lit up very well. So, no surprise. Since I don't worry about lighting up my older figures, I don't don't see myself worrying about this or any other new figure.
I wish they went with the Rebels look, from the first time they showed us this character back from Obi Wan trailers, I thought he looked like Billy Corgan from Smashing Pumpkins with white face paint 😂
My DX16 Darth Maul has the same problem with the double bladed lightsaber. That it lights up just like this figure, even with button cell batteries and my Soap Reactor.
Mine arrives next week.Looking forward to adding him to the collection.Also got the Outlaw Josey Wales figure coming next week.These SS Clint Eastwood figures are the best they've ever done.
I’ve hear the figure has been made in low quantity, so I’ll be picking this up sooner rather than later, as I want to build up the imperial side of my collection. I just hope Hot Toys release the other Inquisitors though! A shame it doesn’t come with moving eyes, as the expression does seem a bit vacant, but overall I like the head sculpt. Really disappointed with the led lightsaber though….
Drunk me bought this a few days ago. Sober me the next day, was happy. I think the inquisitors are stunning figures. Amazing tailoring, headsculpts. I loved the characters in the show, whilst non being keen on the show itself. Reva was honestly one of my favourite buys of 2023.
dats d reason why sideshow unboxing didnt even bother showing it. lightsaber is an epic fail... but its a start hopefully they dont get lazy and improve them in d future

Definitely without a doubt I was really looking forward to the USB function, but after seeing your video and another review online, I feel like hot toys did not even apply any kind of different lighting to the sabre itself and they're just saving some costs on not having to ship out those buttons all batteries anymore. Nonetheless like you said in the video he looks great and it's a cool presence for the case, but I have to agree, I am disappointed in the lighting. I put my pre-order in for the Vader the day it got released for the Kenobi series and this was also a huge selling feature for me about the USB functionality Great review as always, I really appreciate your honesty but also appreciate that you just did not destroy the figure with constant complaints. 👍
I ordered a battery operated lightsaber for Luke from China and its really cool it has the smallest battery that you charge with a sub hub and then this Nico battery slips into the hilt and lights up the saber, it's extremely bright and looks excellent. It's great for taking photos the only thing that is a drag is that it doesn't have an on/off switch it just lights up as soon as you slide it into the hilt so you have to remove it until you want to display it I think I want to get the ccfl sabers for my figures and I wish theybhsd a solution for lighting up r2d2 as the batteries in him have died long ago. The saber I bought is really cool though and the technology isvfsntastic it just has limited use, I have not seen how long it stays lit yet and the company also makes a blue sabre as well, I'm talking with them to see if they will make me a red one for vader. The size of the hilt is the same size as the normal hilt and they cost 59.99 or best offer on eBay.

Like the figure, hate the poor light up feature, think I would paint the blades, to make up for the disappointment are you going to buy 10 Carson Teva helmets?!

They recreated him really well from Kenobi. Just a shame they butchered his rebels design. Still gonna pick it up cos the Grand Inquisitor is one of my favourites and I doubt we will get a rebels accurate figure ever
Great looking figure … HT did a great job matching the Kenobi inquisitor.. to bad Disney failed to create a proper Pau'an like in Revenge of the Sith .. even the cartoon version looked more terrifying than this pinless Pinhead. But hé others will enjoy it and this figure but it’s an easy pass even without the crappy LEDs
Jeez, at least the old lightsaber arms were subtle and easy to disguise. These huge cables and connectors are just so much uglier. They shouldn't have even bothered.
Not running to get him, but if I find him for cheap (or I am at a Convention and I get a purchase bug) I will get it. Sad about the USB light up function but I don't tend to have these on normally either way.
I had zero expectation from the lightsaber tbh, it’s not something I would have left on and it’s a bit gimmicky really so I’m not too fussed about that. The sculpt is fantastic and love the tailoring and outfit in general (though agree re: the hood). As one of about 7 people who actually enjoyed the Obi-Wan Kenobi show, Ive already grabbed the Grand Inquisitor and really looking forward to having Reva and Darth Vader next to him (come on Hot Toys, give us the Fifth Brother and Fourth Sister!)

Super disappointed based on multiple reviews I’ve seen. I guess baby steps with Hot Toys. At least progress was made toward usb powered accessories. Hopefully in the future they’ll make improvements to better lighting on the lightsabers
Good figure but no wonder collectors go thr custom route with the light up functions shame on you hottoys that's one thing they really need to work on but Ryan could you please send me a link for custom light up companies if you know of any many thanks
No excuse for this. It still boggles my mind that Hot Toys is making figures from such a colossal failure of a show, like all Disney Star Wars. Hot Toys is boring me now; I wish they'd make something unique that people will actually want, instead of constantly rehashing or making figures from crap shows. Their talent is wasted on figures like this, and it seems to show that, like Disney+ subs, that they don't care.

Hot toys shoud just make the blade itself look like its lit up by having a white "core" with translucent red plastic.

Never planned on using the usb, Lighting was never a great idea for 1/6 scale figures anyway……..I’ll never use it! The figure looks awesome!!!

I thought Reva was already available. She's definitely a figure I'll be picking up at some point.

The light up function is essentially a cheap gimmick that will allow for HT to drive up the price. Just skip it because it’s trash 🗑️
From what I understand it was more so out of necessity to get around international disposable battery laws.
