I want to know your opinion about the Good Skin Day's Vitamin C serum!! its so lightweight, 26$ and so easily layerable and seriously brightening my hyperpigmentation i wish more people reviewed it !
Casandra, I would love to see you talk about mineral sunscreen more, things like: the photocatalysis of zinc oxide (ZnO) and titanium dioxide (TiO2). Is the non nano form still a photocatalyst? Do coatings on nano particles work to make the particles photostable or do the coatings go to shit in formulations? What about the different forms of the particles, rutile, anitase etc. What is the uv attenuation of the particles at different sizes? What is the dermal penetration in skin with atypical histologies? And what ingredients should you avoid in a Sunscreen (citrus essential oils and retinyl palmitate come to my mind as they display phototoxicity)? P.S. Love your channel and no nonsense vibes. You call 'em as you see 'em and I really like that. Your info on cosmetic products has more breadth, depth and accuracy than most dermatologists on here btw.
Having sensitive skin, I've always been cautious about trying new skincare products. However, after hearing great things about littleexttera rice berry vit C serum, I decided to give it a shot. I've been using it for about three months now, and I'm extremely pleased with the results. The serum has a gentle formula that hasn't caused any redness on my sensitive skin. It is quickly absorbed and leaves my skin feeling smooth and hydrated. I've noticed improvements in the overall tone and texture of my skin-it looks brighter and more even. I use the serum every morning as part of my skincare routine, and it performs wonderfully under my riceberry sunscreen and makeup. The packaging is straightforward and practical, though I do wish it dispensed a little more product per pump. Despite that small concern, I would recommend this serum to anyone with sensitive skin looking to use Vitamin C in their skin care regimen. It's been a gentle but effective addition to my skincare regimen now.
This vitamin c serum by litttleextra riceberry is amazing. It performs exceptionally well and has reduced my pigmentation a lot. It has no fragrance. Is a good match for my skin.
The Clairs one is doing wonders to my sensitive and super-oily skin! I put my bottle inside the box it comes with and keep the whole boxed bottle inside my freeze! No sign of oxidation and OH BOY, I LOVE THIS SERUM ALREADY.
I store it the same way and it did clean up my acne-prone skin a bit. (I'm a guy and hit the gym, and due to whey protein powder consumption, I'm prone to breakouts, etc. This stuff helped me reduce the number of undesirables on my face)
I tried the Jumiso one and I didn't see a big difference on my skin. Totally agree with Cassandra on this one, it is very good for a first time Vitamin C, I used because it was the very first serum I incorporated into my skincare routine before I moved to a higher concentration and served its purpose. I have oily acne-prone skin and it didn't break me out or irritated my skin.
I use The Ordinary one right now, every other evening, after Mandelic Acid (alternating it with Retinol 0.2 in Squalane). The effect of this has been amazing for brightening my skin overall and for the pigmented spots. And I adore the smell, it smells like freshly squized grapes in the fall, when the wine is made. I cannot wear it under sunscreen, it does feel a bit oily for me, so it is a PM routine step. It goes well under The Ordinary's Natural moisturizing factors, which for some reason I absolutely love.
I knew you'd love the Dear Klairs. I love it too and to date, the best vitamin C serum i tried. It literally disappeared my marks and the price is worth it
@@hafizamaria3714 try storing it in the fridge or make sure that its not getting any light or heat. Also, dont try to stretch it into 4 months... just use it up and dont apologize for having it finished within 2 months. (Skincare is self care!)😁 hope this helps and best of luck!
I've used the Dear Klairs vitamin c serum along with their vitamin e mask and that is the one and only time I've ever noticed a beautiful and substantial change to my skin. I am a little worried my skin got "used to it" though, but maybe I was using other products that influenced that. Also, I LOVE their supple preparation toner it is amazing for dry skin it has a nice light smell but it is not overbearing, as someone who does not like fragrance in skincare, their products are good for sensitive, dry skin people who hate fragrance!
I hate supporting the current brand I’m using (intoxicated trunk animal) but man is that serum good. I’m glad to have more options to try and stop using that terrible brand
I love the dear klairs one! It's my favorite vitamin C serum! I've switched to korean skincare with a couple of inkey list products and paula's choice bha exfoliater and their salicylic acid/licorice root booster🖤
Let me know what skin care u use after klairs vit C serum. I like to use vit c serum with the vit e moisturizer from klairs. It really helped my oily skin become more healthy and supple. But i might need more layer of another products for my skincare routine which i still figure out.
yes ✨ I’ve been feeling called to add a vitamin c to my routine and have been researching them / watching vids to discover which one may be best for me - this video was so helpful !!! I’ve been feeling drawn to the skin & lab vitamin c serum .. but I do need to make a glossier order and since I have dry skin I might try their super glow! tysm x
I've simplified my skincare routine because I'm starting school soon and I'll be on a tight budget. Currently only sunscreen, double cleanse, retinol and a basic AHA. Might include an esscense and vitamin C once I have a bit more disposable income. Edit - I do use a basic moisturizer on nights I dont use retinol since my retinol is in a moisturizer. I only use sunscreen in the morning. My skin doesnt need more moisture in the morning
@@enakshi8729 My thoughts as well! Especially when using a retinol and AHA. Not moisturizing when using these actives is likely to result in dehydrated skin, more irritation and peeling. If on a tight budget I'd recommend going for a moisturizer before buying an essence or vitamin C. There are definitely a lot of good inexpensive moisturizers out there. I believe Dr Dray recently made a video with moisturizer suggestions under 10 or 7$.
@@meganepelletier853 I don't know what products this person uses but for example, I use a retinol that is formulated in an oil form so I don't need to layer anything on top and it won't dry me out. Sunscreen is also sufficiently moisturizing for the morning so I don't and to be honest can't layer a moisturizer underneath. I think I'm in the minority but my skin can only take 2 (one toner/essence or serum and one a bit heavier product like sunscreen or moisturizer/oil) products on top of each other so I have to simplify things and pick multifunctional products.
Using also Dear Klairs, at first I thought it would be oily and will make me break out. But surprisingly, it absorbs nicely. Though I can see on the inside cap that it is oxidizing. I ordered a second bottle because it works and gave a good glow.
one of her best videos I thought, really levelled up the content and editing and made this really interesting to watch with some of the facts mentioned and the product variation 🙌
Yes! Dear Klairs Vitamin C is fantastic. It’s my very first vitamin C and I am so glad it is because it truly works so well. Even though I have dry and sensitive skin it still works great for me! I can’t tell you how it brightens my whole entire face the next day and just give this fantastic glow!
I started using Dear Klairs vitamin c a week ago and I am loving it. I am also acne prone so was hesitant at first but no breakouts, no irritation. I am actually seeing how it is brightening my skin in a week. Though serum heating up kind of freaked me out at first.
I agree with you! The Klairs serum is the best one on the market and it's definitely affordable. Applying it once a day, it lasts me more than 2 months. My skin has never looked this good 😄
Wow, this was incredibly helpful. I have never tried a vitamin C serum but I get pretty dramatic hyperpigmentation from acne, scrapes, cuts, wounds, bruises, etc. Time for me to add another Ordinary serum! Thank you for explaining the science-it saves me the energy of looking up information on ncbi
I have bad hyperpigmentation from acne scars. I started using a Vitamin C serum, and a Niacinamide serum and they have dramatically reduced my acne scars on my face! I highly recommend them. I was using “Boots” brand for both of those, because they’re very inexpensive and can be bought right at Target. I think they were like 8 bucks a piece. I saw great results from them! Today I decided to buy a different brand of Vit C and Niacinamide serums. Revolution brand has higher percentages of Vit C and higher percentage of Niacinamide in their serums so I wanted to try that. Hopefully they work as well as the Boots brand
I have always had dry, sensitive skin with eczema (the eczema has gotten better with age and living in the desert). I would get pimples but mostly around my temple area. Anyway, I started using the patch birth control and I would lay out in the sun, so I developed hyperpigmentation and the more I laid out, the worse it got. I finally stopped when the skin above my upper lip started turning brown 👀. So I needed to find something. Now, this was back about oooohhh saayyy, about 12 years ago…this sales lady at Ulta recommended this product made by L’Oréal. It was a serum that had ascorbid acid as one of the top ingredients and it had this beautiful, pearlescent, shimmery glow to it (nothing crazy but it did make your skin luminous and it was soooo pretty!) Anyway, within a week I began to notice my skins pigmented spots start to disappear. I used it once a day everyday. When I came back about a month later to buy more, they stopped carrying it 😭. Almost as soon as I stopped using it my dark spots returned. I kept my face out of the sun as much as possible and would use foundation with SPF since I hated the greasy and stinging sensation from using straight sunscreen. Anyway, I haven’t been able to find the serum anywhere and if anyone has any suggestions on what to use I’m all ears. I’ve been a fan of Korean beauty for about 3 years and I’ve tried different things here and there as well as Oil of Olay, Neutragena, Garnier, even L’Oréal vitamin C Revitalift and Roc. None of them have worked. I gently wash my face at bedtime and in the morning. Ive been using Sweet Chef oak milk latte cleanser and Sweet Chef Vitamin C bright spot tonic and it’s worked but only a little bit. I’ve tried brightening serum and retinoid cream from Admire My Skin and it didn’t do anything. I exfoliate maybe twice a month and never ever go without Ponds moisturizer every time I wash my face, which I have been using since the 8th grade. I haven’t changed that up because my skin needs that very thick moisturizer to soak in. Ok this is so long and I apologize. TL;DR I need to find something comparable to that L’Oréal vitamin C serum. The current one in the red tube does nothing for my skin. The shimmery serum was the only one that really works for me. Any suggestions please let me know!
I was so excited when I bought and tried the Dear Klairs Vitamin C but unfortunately it broke me out so bad. I believe it was all the fragrance components that are in the product. But I’m eager to try The Ordinary one due to my pigmentation!
@@FrancoMscs I have it but I've always found it really sticky and I can only use it as part of my night time routine. There's no way I could put it on first thing in a morning before my SPF, maybe I'm using too much? I also think it doesn't smell nice at all, it reminds me of meat for some reason. I'm also here looking for a replacement.
the best budget friendly ascorbic acid serum that i have tried was "geek and gorgeous c-glow" it's formulated with vitamin E and ferulic acid but it's sooo watery and gets absorbed in seconds while it helped with my PIE/PIH! i wish you could try that too 🦋
I am using the Ordinary vit C serum, but is was too strong for my face (sensitive rosacea skin). I experienced tingling, redness and itchyness 😖 But it works really well on reducing the fine lines on my chest area! ☺️
@@zeroheroes4081 try Facetheory brand. It’s based in UK. I found it by accident and so grateful I did. It’s amazing and not crazy expensive. Cruelty free too!
I had a disagreement with my esthetics instructor the other day. In my schooling they say never use vitamin c during the day cause it causes photosensitivity. But I always apply it before my SPF because science! Glad to know I'm not the only one
I’ve seen no influencers talking about this brand but I literally just came across it last week because I was wondering why so few brands make vitamins C in *airless pump* packaging because of how prone to oxidization it is! *Timeless Vitamin C 20% + 1% E + 1% Ferulic Acid serum* - Looks like a very good but much more affordable replica of SkinCeutical and comes in an AIRLESS PUMP! Which means much slower oxidation!! And its *less than $100 for a massive 4oz* The brand is also super sustainable (all their bottle packaging is recyclable - either ordinarily or thru terracycle - things like airless pump) and *cruelty free* - I think it deserves a Cass-Pass doesn’t it?? It’s also a Californian brand! Why no influencers in this circle never mention anything from this brand? Is it just because they are not sponsoring??
@@SuperPuddingcat thanks for the confirmation! i just ordered right before i first commented / when this video first came out, very much looking forward to it!
@@alicecgong Melano CC is a korean option , completely airless (you CANNOT get more than 1 drop out at a time) so it will not oxidize even if it takes 6,9 months or more to complete use it up! About 13$ for what I estimate to be 8 month supply. AMAZING VALUE
I recently discovered Vitamin C Mac primer and I looove how it works under the make up or sunblock and give a very nice glowing texture to my skin. Is a oil but doesnt make the skin greasy but moisture on point.
I’ve had really good results with Boots brand Vitamin C serum, and also their Niacinamide serum. I like it because they’re inexpensive, like 8 bucks a piece, and I can get them right at Target. They work really well! I saw a good reduction in my hyperpigmentation acne scars in just one month. I just bought the Revolution Vitamin C serum, and their Niacinamide serum today at Ulta. I noticed they had 15% Vit C and 20% Niacinamide, so I wanted to try those higher potency serums. Hopefully they work even better than the Boots brand I was using last month! 🙏🏼🤞🏼
I love the freshly juiced one too, I’m dry/a little bit sensitive! ♥️ I have used it for years, it gives me glow without being greasy, and I love to combine it with the freshly juiced mask at night! Works like magic!
Omg, you are an angel. I have never heard of this brand and I was literally shocked how affordable their products are. I think, it is my new favourite now
Yessss finally someone loves the dear klairs vit C as much as I do!! Have you tried the ‘jelly balm’ version of the serum? It’s such a good version for the winter dryness (I’m super oily and acne prone too)
I have been using Dear Klairs for months. It is my first Vitamin C serum and it worked well for me. My skin is smoother and brighter. I am halfway through my bottle and it has not yet oxidized. I just keep in the fridge. Current fave!!
Dear Klair’s is my go-to serum for more than a year already. It sits perfectly with sunscreen (and light bha toner underneath for summer) and it really helps with my post inflammatory erythema after acne👍
That was a brilliant, very informative video, thanks!! But I must say that the Indeed Labs is my absolute favorite. I love everything about it, fantastic texture and instant absorbtion. Doesn't irritate my sensitive acne prone skin and it fades my hyperpigmentation day by day ;) It just goes to show how individual skincare is, even among similar skin types.
I've been using Vit C for about 20 years now so I've tried tons of it in different brands but the best for me (and the cheapest) is the Vit C powder 1/8 teaspoon mixed with 5 ML of my favorite moisturizer (Cetaphil). If you're new, build up your tolerance by starting with 1/16 teaspoon Vit C powder. Using Vit C powder you get new mixture of Vit C everytime and it's important because Vit C is so unstable but the benefits as skin brightening & texture is amazing. At 59, I have zero age spots, zero wrinkles & zero fine lines. I never had botox or facelifts but I had done micro-needling. Note: Vit C could sting when you first started but the stinging can be greatly diminished by applying moisturizer first. The sting will disappear in few minutes..
I’ve just used Klairs for some days and it’s my first serum C ever but I can say it’s really good even to my sensitive oily acne prone skin. Super light and makes my face feel softer and moister! Not to mention a very good price!
@@xdic5328 it does but very light and slow, it may work with light red/dark spots after acne, but with my melasma which is deep so it just help lighten up a little
I just got obsessed with skin care during this pandemic and just found out vitamin c serums are the bomb! I got the klair vitamin c serum! Haven’t tried it yet! But looking forward!
SO grateful you recommend me to beauty pie.. I just would have spent $400 on them but I got the day membership and only spent like 130 or something. Omg.. I love their products.. well the look of them.. well see how well they work!
Thankyou! Just yesterday I was searching for a vitamin C recommendation video of yours but couldn’t find one. But I’m happy u just posted! Very helpful! 👍🏼
I use Obagi Vitamin C serum (which is apparently prescription only outside of Japan) and I absolutely love it. It's been a game-changer and when I keep up with it, my skin looks visibly younger. Sometimes I have to take a break though if my eczema is acting up.
I've been using the minimlist one since it was the one I could afford, I used it to get rid of acne marks and so far I've used it for 2 weeks and the marks are getting a lot lighter. I'm 16 so I also get a lot of teenage acne but the pimples now don't leave marks :)
Been using timeless for over a year but my skincare obsessed self has been dying to try a new one 👀👀 I always end up down the research hole and going back to tried & true. Ready to be brave👀
Clicked on this video because of the Dear Klairs serum in the thumbnail - my #1 vitamin c serum recommendation for beginners. I would strongly advise storing in the fridge - no heat anymore though. But in the fridge, it will last a really long time - no oxidation. I would also strongly strongly recommend the Dear Klairs Freshly juiced Vitamin E mask - it really maximizes the vitamin C serum. The only thing is that it's a little heavy for oily skin in the morning but a little can go a long way so I use less than I would normally use and I love to use it at night right after vitamin C - for plump glowy skin the next day.
I think it’s interesting that no on other than Hot and Flashy talks about the Timeless brand Vit C. So many people in comments always rave about it yet there’s never any thoughts on it from anyone else other than a sponsored influencer. 🤔
There are some legit small youtubers that rave about it. I have used that and Paula’s choice and imo it’s better than paula’s choice and more affordable
Loved the Dear Klairs vitamin c for years but just started with Pacifica's Sea & C Love Vitamin Serum. Super nice application, zero stickiness. I'm a week in and totally in love.
I use the Melano CC vitamin C serum and I love it because the packaging is amazing and it absorbs quickly. Plus I was shocked at being able to see results so quickly with my hyperpigmentation! Please do a review
I stepped up to the Klairs vitamin C serum from The Ordinary Ethylated Ascorbic Acid after your recommendation from an earlier video, and I'm now hooked. The formulation is just *so* much better and absorbs so nicely, and wierdly despite being a much lower % (5% vs 15%) it looks like it's brightening my skin more. (don't worry, I'm still going to use the Ordinary one on my arms and back it won't go to waste)
I just started with Ethylated Ascobic Acid from The Ordinary. Just today actually! I chose that from their line because I read it was the most stable of derivatives from their line up. Is that why you used it in the first place too?
it's interesting that vitamin c serums increase the efficiency of sunscreen! I somehow thought it made the skin more sensitive to the sun lol but I probably mixed it up with retinol haha
Hi Cassandra!! Thank you for all the great information. You always make it easier to digest and understand what’s in skincare products. I was wondering have you tried Advanced Clinicals vitamin c serum?
I wanted to love the Dear Klairs one, but I hated that warm feeling it gives, and the strong smell of essential oils. It also broke me out with dermatitis and dried my skin
Perhaps it's a different product you didn't notice. Dear klairs freshly juiced vitamin c drop is one of the most calmest serums for a sensitive skin. The warm feel you get lasts only for like 5s. If your skin is a little too sensitive I suggest you pair it with klairs vitamin e mask . One of the best moisturizers ever .
I would love to know what you think of the vitamin c with ferulic and vit e from Timeless. I’m asking because I am currently looking for a vit c and ordered that one because it’s available at target online and some say it’s close to the skincuticals one but a fraction of the price. I paid $21 but it hasn’t arrived yet so I can’t say how well it works but I have heard vit c works best with ferulic acid and vit e. Another youtuber did a video testing the ph of a bunch of different popular vit c’s and many of them weren’t at the correct ph to work but the timeless was at the correct ph. I’m hoping it’s not too good to be true since it’s affordable. I’m hoping you approve :)
Yes timesless vit c works I trust Angie completely I order it from Melbourne Australia and their customer service is second to none win win although it costs a heck of a lot more for me
@@vetsai8199 I was going to order from amazon but some customer reviews mentioned when ordering through them that their came leaking or oxidized so I decided to pay a few more bucks and get from target. Sometimes on amazon things are not legit but I think the timeless on amazon may come directly from company I’m not sure.
Hi , Love your channel's content. It is very educational and I love it when you go very technical when explaining. I also love when you include the resources. I have a suggestion, It would be amazing if when you highlight the product, you also include what type of vitamin C it uses. If it is using the pure ascorbic acid or if it's an ester and have more information about that type just like the Hydroxy acids.. With so many vitamin C derivatives/esters, it is so hard to keep up and know which type of Vitamin C we should be looking for if we don't want the stress of Ascorbic Acid's instability or can't afford Skinceutical's $160 C+E Ferulic. I try to get several resources before making decisions for myself and I do take your insights since you are licensed and certified and would have more access to resources not to mention about your colleagues insights at your work. That way you can also tell us which type of vitamin C worked for you based on your experience. So far, in my personal experience, the Vitamin C ester Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate is the one that showed great results for me. Vitamin C is my very first favorite active when I was just starting to love skincare. Hope you can accomodate my suggestion but no biggie if you cant. Thanks!
You're absolutely amaziiiiing, Cassandra!🤩 ❤️ I admire you greatly! it's such a shame some of the great products you present are only available in the U.S. or the U.K. 😒
I already own the Dear Klairs Vitamin Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop and it's running low, so I was going to see if i need to venture out and try out other serums. I'm so glad it made it to your list of faves so it saves me the trouble!
Oh my goodness I adore you 😍 You have seriously gotten me through lockdown like you have NO idea just binge watching all of the good good 😆 lol! Your endless knowledge is turning this little cyster 👭 into a skintellectual 👩🔬 & I LOVE IT! Was checking to see if anyone mentioned Lumene. I enjoy their whole VALO (vitamin C) series. Love the Nordic C Glow Boost Essence! I have the Arctic Berry Oil-Cocktail too but haven't started using it yet.
Love this review and come back to it when I'm looking to switch up products! ***I just wanted to say in regards to the Pacific Glow Baby C serum she talks about here- although it does have a creamsicle esque fragrance, it is VERY faint and nowhere near as overwhelming as she makes it sounds...I avoided it for a long time due to this review but have decided to give it a try this time around when switching up my formulas. As someone who is pretty sensitive to strong fragrances I can say it doesn't bother me at all, it smells pleasantly sweet but not in a synthetic perfumey way and the scent doesn't linger on the skin once absorbed 👍🏽
I have a question about the one you mentioned with dimethicone. I like that feel on my skin, but always wonder whether moisturizers over that can penetrate. I feel as if dimethicone products would be last before foundation (like a primer). Does that matter?
I really like how you review products. You share your experience and not just base your review on the ingredients that is written on the bottles which all the viewers can just read themselves. And you also explain the chemistry behind the ingredients and mention also the price.
There’s no need to use an extra product with vitamin c serum as long as your multi-antioxidant serum has at least 5% L-ascorbic acid and is stabilized. In modern days, *all* of the best vitamin c serums are multiantioxidant serums because antioxidants often work synergistically to enhance each other’s effects. Vitis Vinifera, Tocopherol, Ferulic Acid, Green Tea extract & Sodium Metabisulfite are examples of additional antioxidants that are often thrown into the mix
Hi, just wanted to mention it's also important to check for pH level. The pH needs to be low in order for the skin to absorb the vitamin c. That's why the likes of the Inkey list one felt nice and not irritating at all, but didn't improve the look of pigmentation. So there's no point buying it if it's the vitamin c that we need. Some products will say what the pH level is on the packaging. Some don't unfortunately. Thanks for video
I just got the PC C15 superbooster and so far I’m loving it! I also have used Sunday Riley CEO glow oil and wonder how it compares to others on this list. I liked it as an oil but not sure if the vitamin C actually did much for my skin over the course of using it.
I love, love Klairs Jucy serum, I use it from two years and it transformed my skin... also since I use it I have no spots, only beautiful, healthy skin. Love it, love it.
lmao, skinceuticals seems like such a joke IMO. so overpriced and hardly any novel/exceptional ingredients. i managed to get a sample of their $130 triple lipid restore (for only 1.6 ounces!) through some random sample site. i can't believe people are actually paying that much for it. the only good thing about it is a ceramide ranks pretty high in list of ingredients and adenosine, other than that a shit ton of synthetic/chemical ingredients and the rest are for the most part pretty standard. i don't think i'll ever pay $ for any of their stuff!
@@purplespaceship2417 It’s not just about the Ingredients, the composition is equally as important; there’s a reason so many dermatologists use SkinCeuticals
@@crazycatpetera1404 Ingredients are what make up composition?? Granted there's no way of knowing their exact formulation but the ingredients list sure provide a good start and that's exactly what chemists base their reviews of skincare products off of. There are a lot of products skincare brands that carry very similar products with a much lower pricepoint and are equally well-reviewed. If you have insider knowledge about what makes Skinceuticals great please share but from an economic standpoint IMO the pricing isn't justifiable. I feel like a lot of people buy their stuff b/c of strategic ad placement and they don't necessarily have the time/patience to research other comparable options.
@@purplespaceship2417 If that was the case you wouldn’t have almost every Dermatologist using their products all the time. The Ingredient list is a component but the composition and structure of a formula is much more complex which Skinceuticals spend lots of time perfecting.
Great video thank you! I actually have super sensitive skin,, but I have been using Klairs for .. 10 odd years.. I vaguely remember it being a bit stingy in the beginning, but (since back in the day we didnt know its not a good thing) I kept using it - and it has grown on me completely. my skin loves it!
How about the Timeless Vitamin C serum? Not all the ones mentioned are readily available from Europe so would love to see Timeless reviewed as well as Geek & Gorgeous.
I think timeless vitamin C serum isn’t available in Europe well at least not here in Germany but i am using the one from geek and georgous and it does give me glow but i can’t compare it to other vitamin c serums because it is my first vitamin C ever lol, I wanna try new ones maybe the glow recipe one but it is sold out for now
@@rezaakbari1773 @Reza AK it used to be! I'm in Germany too so that's why it had been recommended to me. I was in the US recently so I bought it to try out. I'm pretty new to Vit C serums as well so I'm hoping Geek and Gorgeous is one I will like because it's not pricey and easy to get.
I LOVE Geek and Gorgeous's Vitamin C it's like only $15. In the past i bought Timelesss but i felt it was too strong on my skin( which never happens for a vitamin c and the bottle was leaky), and Maelove- which was good. But, with G&G i feel like my skin liked it the best. ONLY downside is shipping to the US( u need to spend $70 for free shipping or pay for shipping)- but i ordered 4 things from G&G i wanted to try so it worked out! But, its a good quality Vitamin C for sure so i hope they become popular to sell it in US stores one day! My problem with Vitamin C is i never finish more than 1/2 the bottle before it starts going bad so i wanted a cheaper one.
Whew I saw dear klairs on the thumbnail and immediately clicked. I’m acne prone oily skinned too. And whenever I find dear klairs. I buy it. It’s so good. And if you layer it with the Vitamin E face mask. 😫😫😫😫
Hey Cass, first of all I love your channel so much! You seem to be such a great person :) I really trust your opinions and I believe your content is pure gold - not biased, serious and exhaustive. I would love if you could analyze & scrutinize ingredients on demand. That would give us - european people - the possibility to hear your opinion (which is greatly valued) on products that are not available to yourself. Think about it - simple (for you) list of ingredients -> rating & a couple of comments. I would loooooveeeee that and would like to pay for that kind of a service!! cheers
I have a simple recipe for diy vitamin c toner. Dissolve 2tsp cosmetic grade ascorbic acid to 2 oz water, then add a tiny bit of baking soda to raise the ph a touch. I normally come out to around a 2.5 ph. Playy with the recipe until you get it right. You could try skipping the baking soda, but your skin may complain. I keep it refrigerated, and it never discolors before I can use it. After it absorbs I like to use a rosehip oil that I spiked with natural vitamin e oil. Vitamin c and e recharge one another, so this is an excellent combination. I like to keep my products in the fridge so they have very little oxidation. If you are really serious about your skin care, you may want to buy a tiny cosmetics fridge like they have on Amazon, although my refrigerator is conveniently place so I don't bother.
Sharing my own anecdotal experience; I think it’s better the Skinceuticals stuff. I had the opportunity to try a couple free samples of the Skinceuticals serum and it’s GREAT but TimelessSkincare kinda ripped off the formula *and* improved on the formula. I think it’s because they use 5% more vitamin c and double the amount of Ferulic acid.

This was my favorite part

I tried the Jumiso one and I didn't see a big difference on my skin. Totally agree with Cassandra on this one, it is very good for a first time Vitamin C, I used because it was the very first serum I incorporated into my skincare routine before I moved to a higher concentration and served its purpose.
Which one exactly from the Ordinary are you using, please? I know they have so many and I don't know which one would be best for me..

Let me know what skin care u use after klairs vit C serum. I like to use vit c serum with the vit e moisturizer from klairs. It really helped my oily skin become more healthy and supple. But i might need more layer of another products for my skincare routine which i still figure out.
Is the Klairs vit C oily?
@@ohbbyelena yes it is more on the oily side but dries down well if u don't layer too fast. I layer relatively fast since my skin is dry.

No moisturiser???
I think I'm in the minority but my skin can only take 2 (one toner/essence or serum and one a bit heavier product like sunscreen or moisturizer/oil) products on top of each other so I have to simplify things and pick multifunctional products.
that seems complicated to me LOL

I actually do have sensitive skin but do love the Klairs Vitamin C serum, it doesn't sting at all which is a usual reaction as mentioned :)
I love so much how you always explain the science behind everything! It's amazing to know all of this
Wow, this was incredibly helpful.

And its *less than $100 for a massive 4oz*
The brand is also super sustainable (all their bottle packaging is recyclable - either ordinarily or thru terracycle - things like airless pump) and *cruelty free* - I think it deserves a Cass-Pass doesn’t it?? It’s also a Californian brand! Why no influencers in this circle never mention anything from this brand? Is it just because they are not sponsoring??
What is The brand?
Angie from Hot and Flashy uses and talks about Timless Vitamin C and she got me on to it. It’s a good product and reasonably priced!

I want to try this one. But I want to always include vitamin E with my vitamin C.

I just started with Ethylated Ascobic Acid from The Ordinary. Just today actually! I chose that from their line because I read it was the most stable of derivatives from their line up. Is that why you used it in the first place too?
The Lumene glow essence is my favourite, as I have sensitive and combination skin. It didn’t irritate my skin, nor made me oily.

This is so worth not paying attention to my online class 😝
D's get degrees :p

I just finished my course. Good luck, do your assignments early and study hard for exams! (learn from my mistakes lol)

Yes timesless vit c works I trust Angie completely I order it from Melbourne Australia and their customer service is second to none win win although it costs a heck of a lot more for me
You can get it for as little as $17.40 from Amazon!
@@vetsai8199 thank you
@@vetsai8199 I was going to order from amazon but some customer reviews mentioned when ordering through them that their came leaking or oxidized so I decided to pay a few more bucks and get from target. Sometimes on amazon things are not legit but I think the timeless on amazon may come directly from company I’m not sure.
@@candicecandice5389 Sometimes, they have third party sellers, and sometimes THEY are not reputable!
Wonder where the Timeless Vitamin C + Ferulic Acid falls on this spectrum?
Idk why no big influencers in this circle talk about that brand much?
@@alicecgong because they don’t get paid by timeless! I have been using this Vit c and it’s as effective as any expensive Vit c
Love your sense of humor and the knowledge you share! Thanks
Hi ,
Love your channel's content.
Thanks!
I recently started using Klairs and I can testify what you said its amazing and I love it

Do you think you could do a video on how to tighten loose skin after weight loss 📉 & treat or minimise stretch marks? It's seriously affecting my mental health 😢 I've no idea what treatments or products to use & sadly the UK 🇬🇧 doesn't have access to dermatologist like the US 💔 Literally praying my wish is granted 🙏 Lots of love, A Butterfly 💙🦋💙 x x
I am using Lumene Nordic-C arctic berry Oil-Coctail and I definitely seen a difference! You have to try something from Lumene ❤️
Was checking to see if anyone mentioned Lumene. I enjoy their whole VALO (vitamin C) series. Love the Nordic C Glow Boost Essence! I have the Arctic Berry Oil-Cocktail too but haven't started using it yet.
I’d love to know your opinion on the timeless vitamin c,e,ferulic acid.
Same! I use skinceuticals but my wallet can't handle it. I've heard this is the closest dupe since the formula is patented
I wonder the same thing
I would like an answer to that too
I would like to know that too!
Silicone derivatives such as dimethicone are permeable, therefore, your perspiration can get OUT, and your moisturizer can get IN.
@@vetsai8199 thanks. ~
I really like how you review products. You share your experience and not just base your review on the ingredients that is written on the bottles which all the viewers can just read themselves. And you also explain the chemistry behind the ingredients and mention also the price.
What are your thoughts on MaeLove’s “The Glow Maker”. Should I use a separate Vitamin C? It has in it but it’s an antioxidant serum.
Glow Maker IS a vitamin C serum. It contains 15% l ascorbic acid
This one broke my skin out
@@modernenergy682 ah thanks! :)
I've been using the Paula's Choice C15 booster and quite like it. If only it was cheaper, especially with the US to CAD conversion. 😬
Me too, and it is actually way better than the one from dear klairs. I´m a little bit confused why it didn´t make the list
Me too!! Been using it for years now and I soooo hoped she‘d talk about it... I wonder if she doesn‘t like it!?🤔
I relate so much with that currency conversion!! ✋😩
What about Skinceuticals? Theirs smells like hot tires and costs as much as 4 new tires.
lmao, skinceuticals seems like such a joke IMO. so overpriced and hardly any novel/exceptional ingredients. i managed to get a sample of their $130 triple lipid restore (for only 1.6 ounces!) through some random sample site. i can't believe people are actually paying that much for it. the only good thing about it is a ceramide ranks pretty high in list of ingredients and adenosine, other than that a shit ton of synthetic/chemical ingredients and the rest are for the most part pretty standard. i don't think i'll ever pay $ for any of their stuff!
Try MAELOVE The Glow Maker for $27.95 very similar ingredients - no smell, instant glow.
I think you can still order directly from their site and they'll ship here and it looks like it's listed on yesstyle to my surprise.
I'm pretty new to Vit C serums as well so I'm hoping Geek and Gorgeous is one I will like because it's not pricey and easy to get.
@@isw_1214 please let me know about your experience with different vitamin C serums 😄
@@rezaakbari1773 It's available on Amazon.

What do you think of the timeless 20% vitamin c e ferulic acid?
Sharing my own anecdotal experience; I think it’s better the Skinceuticals stuff. I had the opportunity to try a couple free samples of the Skinceuticals serum and it’s GREAT but TimelessSkincare kinda ripped off the formula *and* improved on the formula. I think it’s because they use 5% more vitamin c and double the amount of Ferulic acid.
Best one with actual proof is not included, sad.
I love it!
@@TheRhala which one?
