In the final Overwatch 1 match ever in the OWL, the Dragons complete their transformation from worst Overwatch 1 team to ever play in the OWL to the best Overwatch 1 team to ever play in the OWL. The journey took the entire lifespan of Overwatch 1 and IMO it's the greatest storyline in esports. I can't overstate how much I love this team.
@@xavierhobbrick6535 that’s an incredibly stupid take. It’s still the same franchise. Will the shock no longer be the shock next year, are the spitfire no longer the spitfire and pretty much every team has a completely different roster to season 1
@@literallynobodyofnotice7946 seriously tho wtf is pelican doing? Shooting as reaper from that far away? Lol?? Why isnt he with the team, he would have been able to kill winston and possibly win the fight.

Man, I wanted to see a breakdown of King's Row. Shanghai crafted a composition specifically designed to counter Atlanta's KR strategies and it worked perfectly, except I don't know how that worked and I would love to know
I'm a huge Reign fan, and I'm really happy with our run through the lower bracket. But man, this video shows a lot of minor mistakes made by individuals on the team (Kai out of position, etc) and the Dragons just gave us no room to make those mistakes
From the Havana game, you could’ve included how in the second last fight Fate charged Kai off the map right at the end, and due to his spawn being far away he couldn’t get back for the final fight, meaning Shanghai also had a 1-man advantage. This is also the reason why Kai typed “NOOOOOOO” in chat right before that fight
You should do a video just on teams that were able to take a map off of the Dragons because from this video, it baffles me how they ever lost against anyone this season
By being the best team to possibly ever play the game. And knowing it. I mean you knew it was going to be sweep when Lip was EMPing in ATL spawn on map 1
I remember when the owl first started, I bought the dragon's genji skin because I liked the color scheme and all my friends told me the dragons were the worst. Now look at them.
Good video, just a side question, any reason why you skipped King's row ? I believe this was Reign's best map and game mode. Again, besides that, thanks for the good review!!
Didn't gator tweet that Shanghai won just because they played the meta? Bruh they beat you in like 50 different comps...ONE OF WHICH WAS REIN ZARYA, which isn't exactly meta. It was a comp dif it was a team dif
I don't understand why it's the winner of the winners bracket vs winner of the losers bracket. Theres a big difference in skill that way. Why does it not just have a normal semifinal format.
They just were different compared to the rest But boy was it anything but a sweep two of those maps were close It seemed fitting from the 0-42 to 4-0 Dragons were just the best team from June Joust to the end of Grand Finsls Everyone thought Shanghai made a mistake picking shock

I never really played Overwatch and correct me, but it seems like. Get a good monke jump off-gaurd and watch the enemy scramble and win. At least for those payload maps lmao
Best way to answer the question is… Easily, very easily. I don’t have a clue how Atlanta made it to the finals. I get their tank line is insane but I just don’t see where the team managed to get that high in the rankings. Like quite a few teams have a great tank line
ATL lost because they had no reason to be in the GFs... Dallas Fuel just choked in the semis. But, even if they were to go to the finals, they still would have lost. But, at least it would have been a closer game
Going from the worst team in sports history to the best team in the world in their respective sport (esport), is literally an incredibly storyline. I'm annoyed owl doesn't get the same attention anymore because this storyline is literally a very special one across all esports.
Looking back at old overwatch and I feel so sad, they caught magic in a bottle now overwatch is so boring with 7 billion immortality ability’s it’s criminal what they’ve done to the game
0:51 Sorry, but that is simply a lie. Everyone expected Shanghai to sweep ATL. The only people who did not think that were a few NA fans with absurdly high levels of copium.

Overwatch 1
moba-like mechanics
team base game
tank duo and synergies between them

@@TheNightman. That’s literally every team ever in e-sports. What’s your point? Actual 1Head.
They didn’t win a single game their first season so it’s poetic they win every map in the grand finals
SHD is the only team I enjoy watching stomping other teams and it's so satisfying
It's satisfying to see a team with actual mastery over what they do come out on top imo. There's something to be spoken for the artistry of it.

Their coordination is absurd, the entire team is literally moving like a hive mind it’s incredible to watch
that tele bluff/bait was one of the most cheekiest things I have seen

Great analysis and breakdown, and nice editing as always
I noticed kai was just very nervous the entire series, nice to see the reign get all the way to the finals tho
Idk why but the pelican isn’t even there genuinely made me laugh
I think that this might have been the case of one team allowing another team to get inside their heads. That was a sweep.
You should do a video just on teams that were able to take a map off of the Dragons because from this video, it baffles me how they ever lost against anyone this season
I thought they said "talk is too late to save [Gator]" @6:28 and I thought "damn they're just gonna roast Gator in the middle of this analysis" lol

I really love your deep dives into matches. so glad to see another behind the akshon!

The one of the saddest things to me is we'll never see a team match shanghai's mastery in OW1 play them for the greatest series ever.
That’s true. At least the season and Overwatch 1 was able to end with a great display of skill and mastery before we move onto the era if OW2.

This is really good. This channel continues to impress me.
great video, just wanting to point at at 9:48 that lucio got stuck not rein
Wasnt surprised it was gonna be a 4-0 considering Atlanta has only ever taken 2 maps of Shanghai and that was back in 2019

MAN this was even more underwhelming than Shock vs Titans...
5:39 today I learned this was an angle that exists
I love that Fate and Void both have their ults but swap to rein Zarya anyway just for the memes
You have it backwards. Fleta stuck masaa with the pulse bomb not gator. Gator was the 1 killed by the blast radius
Atlanta looked soo strong, like Dallas earlier in the year, but Shanghai are just on another plain of existance

The slow motion makes these game way more epic
Not a competitive grand finals but an entertaining one. It was nice to see Shanghai go from never winning a game to winning it all
From the most losing-est team to the most winning-est team
2020 Grand Finals between Seoul and Shock was still the closest Grand Finals we ever got, sad

if you, like most "experts", get your head out of your ass you'll realize that it wasn't too farfetched for atl to get to finals.
Can you do the same type of video but analyzing Fuel x Reign?
I wish it was Dallas and Dragons. It would have been more competitive, but the outcome would have been the same.
ATL lost because they had no reason to be in the GFs...
Dallas Fuel just choked in the semis. But, even if they were to go to the finals, they still would have lost. But, at least it would have been a closer game
