- After falling to a Zarya Hammond strategy when mounting an attack versus the Chengdu Hunters, the New York Excelsior adapted from their defeat.
When it was time for the NYXL to go up against the GZ Charge in their next match, they brought with them some new tactics up their sleeve.
In today's video, we take a look at how the NYXL's style of defense in their series against the Guangzhou Charge.

it seems that there is an akshon curse. whenever akshon highlights a team doing a smart strategy and winning a game in one of their videos the team then goes braindead and on a decline. it happened with paris and now is happening with nyxl and chengdu

@@d3w222 It's cause SBB has a good Tracer/Sombra, but a bad McCree/Ashe/Widow. While Nenne is the opposite. Decent Tracer, bad Sombra, decent McCree/Ashe/Widow.
@@ciragis7827 The problem is that they're running Nenne over SBB on very dive focused maps. They're basically running Nenne for his sombra instead of SBB.
@@ciragis7827 thats where you're wrong. sbb can probably play the mccree ashe and widow around or slightly less skilled than nenne. hes been having a trash year and its apparent that he's the problem. sbb and haksal should always be starting lineup and libero and nenne should be map/character pick specialists. also - imt needs better assistant coaches. if you look he only has 2 and one of them was season 1 seoul and another was a contenders.
If traditional sports had videos this good maybe I'd understand them better

These videos are always informative! I would not be as appreciative of OWL matches if it weren’t for such. Calling the Akshon esports team helpful is an understatement.
Given how many insane plays were made in the countdown cup and the following weekend, is there a chance for another video dedicated to such? I’m sure many people (like myself) can learn from the plays made by even the lowest ranking OWL teams. Otherwise, I’m also fine just grabbing the popcorn for the insanity :)

Would be great to see a comparison between this and Chengdu playing the same composition in their opportunistically proactive style, like when they were taking dives outside enemy spawn on Control Centre.
What I love about the Hunters is that their wacky Ball Zarya team comp was meta for a bit. The Hunters may not be the best to ever run the comps nobody thought about, but they will certainly be the first to try them.

I had the impression that Nyxl did not take this season seriously until they got defeated by the hunters
Well they didn't even play until like halfway in, and thus has a SUPER insanely slow start compared to everyone else. NYXL is a slow burning team, which was mentioned in the video, so it'll take some time for them to get fired up. It's an excuse honestly, but I think they've been performing "alright" with the resources they've been given. I just wish we'd try and get more of every role on a team, because it seems like we've been staying with these select players for so long.
