- I bought these items separately so this unboxing shows you how to set up the T8 AIVID to work with the auto-empty bin if they didn't come in the same box.
NOTE: There is no software/app setup required...they find each other automatically. The only thing you have to do is use the included tool to remove two doors in the bottom of robot and use the new dust bin that came with the auto-empty station.
The music actually mitagates a lot of my impatience and is a nice touch to the video.
The music is fine.
I hope the robot Vacuum itself should have a mechanism to push out the garbage while the sucking station running. It just like using a small motor or springs to push a card hiding inside the dustbin to push out all garbage(The piston/Cylinder idea) so that we don't need very strong sucking station but still can take out all things inside the dustbin easily.
Maybe a good idea, but no one is using it. It's probably easier to use suction.
Hi. Thanks for the video... but how do we know when the dust bag is full? thanks in advance?
You have to open up the bin and feel it. The app will tell you it's full at seemingly random intervals. Don't believe it, it has no clue. It's some algorithmic BS that doesn't work very well. Out of every bin I've tested, only two actually know when they are full...the iRobot (Roomba) ones and the Dreame (Dreametech) ones.
better without the music, I have the T8+ AIVI and its been great, yes the APP suxs for use with IPHONES, customer support is useless. I had the IRobot 7 and it was junk, ended up getting rid of it quickly, so far I like the T8+ AIVI
Love the music!
Great video.
I’m really worried about software and app issues. Do you recommend me buying deebot or roborock s5max ? I know auto empty awesome but the issues I’ve heard about deebot is making me rethinking
Well, Roborocks are not without their own issues. My S6 MaxV is the only robot I have, for example, that has actually fallen down stairs.
It really depends. Are you willing to deal with some software bugs? Relabelling your rooms every week (takes seconds)? Redoing your room dividers every now and then? Remapping on occasion (I’ve only had to do that once)? If so, get the Deebot. Their auto empty bin is not the best but it does work. And once you have one, a robot without it seems like a toy.
Or just get an i7+. Its navigation is bad, it takes hours to make a map, but at the end of the day, it just works. And it works like nothing else.
@@MrRoombato never expect any robot to fall !! you should put that video on youtube!
My place is 3000 sq ft, and my plan is make it vacuum all the place twice a weak and mop the day after that. ( regular clean )
I might only need to set boundaries to places that usually get stuck on. (curtain & I heard that mirror is an issue).
I've decided to get deebot t8+auto empty for about 700$. aivi ratings is worse than t8
Update: I bought s5 max
thank you!
Do you have pets? If so, I suggest you having it clean one or two rooms every day instead of the whole house twice a week. It's not great at sucking pet hair out of its dust bin. As I said, the auto empty bin works, but isn't the best. You want the best auto empty bin you need to go iRobot.
@@MrRoombato I don't have bets, just for the dust ( our weather isn't the best ).
Also i have one big area L shape its like half the house. I don't know if the robot can figure it lol.
Irobot don't have LIDAR!!!
you've been very helpful, appreciate that
can i set it up with a tablet?
Should be able to it. It will probably run in phone emulation mode.
Hello Master;
Did the app improve from the moment you did this review till April 2021?
I am a master of very few things, none of them relevant to my channel. :) But, to answer your question, they did improve it, a little bit. But it's still buggy. If you don't care about giving it google home/alexa commands, just don't label your rooms (leave the default letter labels, A, B, C, etc.) and you'll be okay.
@@MrRoombato Definitely Pro tips,
- For good or bad I have refused to use any virtual assistant so no issue for me,
- Regarding the rooms so, your recommendation is to leave the default letters as Labels, I guess because custom labels disappear?
Yes. Constantly. I'm really mad at Ecovacs because it's such an easy fix but they think it's the right way to do things. Because to alert you to the fact that you left a UPS box on the floor and your map changed, clearly you have to remove all room labels. I mean like...how else could you do it? (Can you tell I hate Ecovacs?)
@@MrRoombato hahahahah,
I'm humble for you for taking the time to answer my dumb question,
My wife and I are slaves of the 21-century era so no time for cleaning, which Robot Vacuum do you recommend to us which are our needs:
- We leave in a country that is 6month in darkness so robot need to operate with very little light,
- We do require Vacuum and moping that's why thinking on this or Roborock,
- I like a lot the Romba S9+Brava Jet but it seems don' work in dark areas and as mentioned we have near 6 months in low light conditions so not an option if can't work in dark areas/times
Thanks in advance for your help!
@@bitelogger Well, that depends. Do you understand that the hybrid robot vacuum mops suck at mopping? If you're okay with that, we can proceed. Even the best ones (T8 with pro-mop, S7) do a marginal job. And by marginal I mean they keep a floor clean and pick up light messes, but they don't really mop. It's more like you walking around with a wet paper towel and lightly wiping the floor.
Hello, my T8 has been having seriou problems to docking into the empty station this week, did you experience something like that?
No, I haven't. But the first thing I'd try is cleaning all of the sensors on both the robot and the dock. If that doesn't fix it, I'd try a reset. If THAT doesn't fix it, I'd contact customer service.
@@MrRoombato I tryed everything but nothing work, the wheels keep rotating with no grip in the surface
@@leonardostreit3527 Are you using the mop when this happens?
@@MrRoombato I’m not using the mop, but I think something has changed in the software because he's approaching the station very lazy and doesn’t lift the wheel like when he does to face steps on carpets.
@@leonardostreit3527 You mean the wheel doesn't make it up onto the platform because it's going too slow?
I'd check the caster to see if it's clogged with hair or otherwise not working properly. Failing that, I'd contact customer service. That's what they're there for. Though they'll probably want you to send it in for repairs.
According to my experience T8 Aivi's camera detection ability is very poor. My Deebot stucks almost in every vacuuming cycle.
What does it get stuck on? Object avoidance, in my experience, was one of the things that robot actually did well.
@@MrRoombato My robot does not detect smaller objects like socks or cables - it runs over the cables and often get stucked
Haven't got the reason yet, but I am not very happy about that.
Expensive that one is
My deebot T9 cleaned our dogs poop on its first day. It smells awful and had to clean it thoroughly on its first day
It do be like that sometimes.
I am not a fan of mopping vacumms they do cheap job. I bought a recondition Braava rebranded mint and it was very impressive to watch. No vacumm goes were braava can covers ever inch of my floors and has no problem around legs of furniture.
Okay, but...can it cross room dividers that are more than a couple of millimeters off the ground? :)
Also, this vibrating mopping head...it may not do as good a job as the Braava M6, but it comes close from what I can tell. I haven't bought one because of the room divider issue.
@@MrRoombato no it can't but i run mine mostly in the kitchen tile floor only place have thresholds and they keep it in. My braava was before mapping
@@kinglord5429 Thanks for the clarification. I wish it could cross them. I need an intelligent mapping dedicated mopping robot that is easier to clean and prep than the iLife W400.
