I've lived in South Lyon my entire life 54 years now my Mom and 4 Aunts born and raised her as well. My Grandmother and her 9 siblings also born and raised here. My family has been here since it was called Thompson's Corners. My Great Uncle Jimmy and Great Aunt Ocel owned Jimmy's Restaurant on the corner of Pontiactrail and 10 mile.its currently now a physical therapy office. I can even remember as a kid and teen being able to ride my bike down the middle of Pontiactrail during the day and i would have more horses go by me then cars. South Lyon was once the Horse capitol of Michigan, and the best part was when you eould visit friends and you eould mention South Lyon no one ever knew where it was or ever heard of it.

Great Schools thats funny , news flash they suck. Peopke need to stay out if my town. South Lyon was not meant to be a big city. We use to be the horse capital of Michigan, not any more. Small town feel my ass not anymore. I remember when no one knew where South Lyon was nor ever hesrd of it. Traffic SUCKS, all the time, Pontiactrail and 10 mile, where not meant for all yhis traffic they sre only two way roads and you can not widen them either. South Lyon is not the quaint and quiet little town I grew up in, back in the 7O's and 80's or when my mom and Aunts grew up here in the 50's and 60's or my Grandmother and her siblings back in the 20''s 30's 40's 50's 6O's. You get the picture. It was a great place to grow up in at one time, but not anymore. Just telling everyone the truth.
