When I was 11 I bought the "Too Much Time on My Hands" 45 and this was the B side. One of the rare times the B side was better than the A side. Way better.

Have to say, after not hearing this song for a few years, Dennis DeYoung is very underrated!

    🕷 ♠️ Y O U L O S E ♠️ 🕷
I have to say that's my favorite part.
The first time I heard Queen of Spades, Dennis' growl and creepy laugh caught me off guard, but in a good way. Not something I expected at all! It instantly became my all time favorite Styx song, surpassing Snowblind after just one listen!!

I put a lot of thought and time into the making of this video using my limited resources. I'm glad you enjoyed it and it's one of my favorites too from Styx!!! 😊

@@RickNeedham you did an amazing job! This is easily one of the coolest lyric videos I've ever seen 😊
The effects and colors totally match the over all vibes and feel of the song!
It also reminds me of the album art for Styx's Big Bang Theory, which i think is totally awesome ❤

Was in grade 10 when I go this. Blasted it thru my home everyday.
My mom heard Dennis and was blown away. She would mention how amazing the vocalist was, and how identifiable his voice on other tracks.
You can just feel it. Undeniable! I loved the entire band and the talent of JY, Tommy, and the boys keeping the engine running with their bass and drums.
Saw them live on Crystal Ball tour (Max Webster Opened) which was awesome by itself.. Sparse crowd and I felt so bad that no one knew what was happening.
But they all knew a year or so later.

One of my favorite Styx songs of all time and that’s saying something because they’re my favorite band and it’s difficult for me to choose but this is definitely one that I would rank in the top 10.

Omg!! I never realized that until your comment 😮
I always took it as the main character getting involved with a Black Widow (the human kind, not the spider lol), and then being murdered by her once she had gotten bored of him, so she could move on to her next victim.
But your comment makes so much more sense! Especially with the title and Dennis' "you lose" growl. 😅
I just now realized Dennis is describing the Queen of Spades card design, not speaking about the character's supposed wife, like I originally thought 😅

Hey does this song trump “Games People Play” off of “Turn of a Friendly Card” by the Alan Parson’s Project, which came out two years later? (Just kidding). Two completely different genres. I love both of them. This one borderlines on heavy metal.
