hello Matt, I just finished talking to one of the owners of Thor Boats. I contacted them after seeing their boats on one of your episodes. I was interested in getting a set of their gunnel rails to use on my rebuild of a 1986 Smoker Craft Mod. V 1754 boats. Come to find out, he is the host of "Migration Nation" a duck hunting show on the Outdoor Channel. He has been gracious enough to sell me a set of the gunnel rails. I mentioned your RUclips channel and how much I liked your building style. He's going to check out your channel. He was familiar with your "competitor" or "other building" channel but hadn't had been brought to the attention of your channel. He was "excitedly" interested when I mentioned your welding/building style. I also mentioned to him my circumstance, attempting to build a boat for both duck hunting and fishing and both having optimum outcomes, not compromising on either. That, I figure is right up your alley. I'm hoping to have my hatch/livewell order ready by the end of the week.
That sounds pretty cool. Haha, i like how you worded that without name calling! My guy! I appreciate that. Hopefully, they reach out!
I have a Mod V 1440 like that with the live well just wider inside than that one, sick work! how much to add a deck like that?
$1900 for front deck alone. Good work aint cheap, and cheap work aint good lol!
Man shit is awsome man!!
Thanks Dan. I love my job lol!
😮 👌
Yessir! Thanks for commenting! It helps!
I always see you remove foam but never put foam back in. Will the boat sink to the bottom if is takes on water.
You haven't watched many videos if you've never seen me put foam back in. I pack it underneath the floors and in the sidewalls. Usually I add more than I remove.
@@TRICKEDTINS oh ok. I just haven’t seen it. I was just really curious. By the way. I love your work but I was starting to think maybe the foam was over kill but I guess they do it for a reason. lol.
What materials do you use for framing? 1/16 or 1/8? I saw one video where you were doing a TBN boat and you disliked the 1/16 framing and rivets. This looks like a combination of 1/16 angle and 2x1?
1½" x 1½" x ⅛" Angle, 1" x 3" rectangular tubing
Tubing is 1/16"
