If the headphone socket is set up with a good DAC and amplification there is no need for a dongle hanging off the bottom of the phone. It also frees up the charge port for it's intended use.
My brother's phone battery health is reducing day by day, at least he could have been using it by plugging charger but nah it's "SPECIAL" mode on some "GAMING" phones.

matter of fact, you can actually turn on very very old android phones by soldering usb charging cables onto the battery pins. its really old tech, and exists on laptops, don't know why its finally here in 2021.

I personally feel devices like these are specifically geared towards total tech headaches that LOVE and are absolutely fascinated by all the specs, and work that goes into the phone.... people who enjoy having nice phoned that handle games well and just look and feel great are happy with s21 series...but phones like the ROG phone are for those who get a big smile on their face from all the numbers.
I've been daily driving ROG phones for two years now, ROG 3 in 2020 and ROG 5 in 2021 and I can't do anything but agree. The entire user experience is just way above anything else I've tried before like the iPhones and Samsung's Notes. If you consume media alot and spend time on your phone I'd really recommend getting a gaming phone, you'll get the best speakers on the market, a big display with extremely accurate responsiveness, extremely quick load times, smooth refresh rate, Nothing lags ever, You'll also get tons of memory, which my ROG 3 had 1Tb of. I never really even play games but when I extremely rarely do it's completely different than what it's like on a normal phone, so different in fact that it changed my opinion on mobile games.

In my country (Indonesia) there's a lot of ROG 5 phones bugged by this problem, the wifi and hotspot tethering just stopped working. Some even worse, the phone just randomly shut down and have to taken to the service center for motherboard replacement (duh). I'm torn between ROG 5 and the Blackshark 4.

That’s literally what I was thinking. The best you could do is get a low watt/amperage output power adapter. For example, most iPhones stay at the same percentage or go up very slowly with .5 amps. The normal 5w adapter is 1 amp, for reference. I don’t know what the wattage would be for that, I guess something like 2.5? For my 15” MacBook Pro, when doing basic stuff, my 12 watt iPad power adapter keeps it at the same percentage, or it’s doing very light stuff, it’ll go up very slowly. Having it at about 70 percent screen brightness makes it stop/go down in charge, but about 50 makes it stay the same, or go up slowly. 60 seems to be a sweet spot. But there definitely should just be a standard charge limiter on everything, and that bypass charging is the best thing ever
I am currently using the ROG Phone 5s Pro (Which is basically an upgrade to the Ultimate) Its super awesome!! There is so much customization to the system functions and it lasts throughout the day. I kinda feel weird walking around with a power bank xD So i opted to bring the power brick itself to make use of the hypercharging. I only wished that the accessories were upgraded since it feels lackluster. I only ever use the cooler and both ports for charging when i go to shower. (It charges from 0-100% in about 30 mins+ with hypercharge). Im assuming it charges faster if u plug both ports tho. So yes, this is a great phone~

Marques really conveniently forgot about the Sony Xperia which brought back the headphone jack and a notchless/punch hole less/ nonsense less/ screen and the bypass mode which he explained with so much excitement for this phone. I think he didn't mention this feature about the Sony phone in his review about that phone and if he did it was like in a very plain simple way of telling that "Sony Xperia has this bypass mode or whatever" way.. The way any mainstream reviewer will explain about positive features of any other phones than Sony is really loud and clear. I am quite sure that reviewers, when they review Sony phones don't share the positive thing about the phone in the same way as they would main stream phones. BTW the thing is that people have started talking more about the Xperia since the mark 2 version. How can one be sure? just look at the sudden addition of the battery saving mode and the pro video mode with 21:9 aspect option in the galaxy phones in recent updates. Worlds most stubborn company Apple added RAW capture in the pictures for the Iphone 12 and the Dolby vision support.

@@omoregieise7520 power is routed to the chip first to power it, then what is left over is sent to the battery. traditionally the chip is only powered by the battery and the charger charges the battery. by bypassing the battery during gaming the battery does not go through the charge cycle and generate extra heat. in theory it should preserve battery life and make heavy use cooler.

Yep rog 2 user here. I can do everything on it and nothing that attracts me yet to upgrade. I use it for emulators and its still runs perfect. Now if a good ps2 emulator comes out (not damonps2) and a rog 5 is required, then I'll turn my head...

I think he didn't mention this feature about the Sony phone in his review about that phone and if he did it was like in a very plain simple way of telling that "Sony Xperia has this bypass mode or whatever" way.. The way any mainstream reviewer will explain about positive features of any other phones than Sony is really loud and clear. I am quite sure that reviewers, when they review Sony phones don't share the positive thing about the phone in the same way as they would main stream phones.
BTW the thing is that people have started talking more about the Xperia since the mark 2 version. How can one be sure? just look at the sudden addition of the battery saving mode and the pro video mode with 21:9 aspect option in the galaxy phones in recent updates. Worlds most stubborn company Apple added RAW capture in the pictures for the Iphone 12 and the Dolby vision support.

@@omoregieise7520 power is routed to the chip first to power it, then what is left over is sent to the battery. traditionally the chip is only powered by the battery and the charger charges the battery. by bypassing the battery during gaming the battery does not go through the charge cycle and generate extra heat. in theory it should preserve battery life and make heavy use cooler.

Yep rog 2 user here. I can do everything on it and nothing that attracts me yet to upgrade. I use it for emulators and its still runs perfect. Now if a good ps2 emulator comes out (not damonps2) and a rog 5 is required, then I'll turn my head...
