Powerful shiur Rabbi Breitowitz, and much appreciated here in NC, USA. May Hashem give you Refuah Shelayma. There is an aphorism as regards a cold; There is nothing worse than a summer cold, but a winter cold comes close. Thank you.
Micah 5:2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”

QUESTION: If you say this was the first time "shema Yisroel" is said in the Torah, what was Yaakov saying when he was first reunited with Yosef, as he covered his eyes?
@@johnb.spitzerattorney-at-law To make your torah perspective question more specific: A zedakah collector comes to the house of a rich man. From the rich person’s son he gets 100 €, the father only gives 10 €. How is this possible, the collector asks the father. Well, he said, my son has a rich father, I, however, have a son who gives money away too easily. The son does not give away his own money, but does it with a light heart. The father gives it, I guess, grudgingly, to minimize the loss. The ben gvir may not acquire much merit, but the merit of the gvir certainly is zero.
I wonder if roav Breitowitz can elaborate one day on one of his lessons where he claimed that (the apostle) Paul was Jewish... As personally, I find all Paul's writings _directly the opposite_ of everything Jiddisjkeit stands for. Sure, Paul wrote he was Jewish but how can you be Jewish if you are against circumcision, want to annihilate torah or even kill followers of Joske? I am seeing Paul as one of the first 'messianic jew'. (Messianic 'jews' are basically christians who 'feel' or 'identify' [as being] Jewish.)
God laid down the Law to bring us to repentance. All have sinned. There are not enough sacrificial animals in the whole world to deal with our sins. He sent His Son (I know, I know- you don't believe this) to not just cover our sins but to actually pay for them- the wages of sin is death. By our repentance of sin and Christ paying the price we are now free from the Law. Jesus and His followers were Jewish. Followers of Christ (not necessarily people who call themselves Christians) are the continuation of what the Living God is doing here on the Earth.
I question the authorship of any book in the Greek bible, aka New Testament. First of all, it is written in ancient Greek which is the language of idolatry. Second, the books of the Greek bible were written at various times years after the fact. Third, the authors show either a lack of knowledge of Judaism, or an outright hostility. The accounts cannot be trusted.
@@MFPhoto1 You could say much of the same for the Old Testament. The Israelites keep bucking God at every turn. It often puts the them in a very bad light.
@@MFPhoto1 I will also say that Jesus and His disciples were clearly Jewish. They claim it, they are from Israel, they keep Biblical Holy days, they quote the Old Testament. What the OT and the NT say about the Word of God going to the Gentiles has happened. You cannot deny that. Our own Scripture says that the Spirit, the Root we are grafted into is also of Abraham, Jacob and Isaac. God meant it to make Israel jealous because often they had turned their backs on Him, gone chasing after idols themselves. He also says that He will break off the unbelieving branches. You are in a day when I believe that a remnant in Israel will be restored, will become brothers through Jesus Christ.
@@RudydeGroot How can we be anti-Semitic when Jesus is a Jew and His disciples are Jewish? Our Scripture is Jewish. God gave the law to bring people to repentance. No one can follow 100% of the law 100% of the time. We have all fallen short of His perfection. Jesus came to be the perfect sacrifice to cleanse us from sin. Because of Israel's unbelief salvation was brought to the rest of us. It was meant to make you jealous. There is only one Spirit, one Root. If Israel was God's only begotten Son, they never would have turned from Him yet they did. We all have turned away and must be reconciled, we must be cleansed in order to come into His perfect, holy presence.
According to Daniel 7, the Messiah will come with the clouds of heaven: Dan 7:13-14 KJV ...one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. 14. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. Jer 4:13 Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles.

@@jannaswanson271 According to our Tenach, what you erroneously refer to as the "Old" Testament, he doesn't even remotely qualify.
From a Torah perspective, would you rather be a gvir or a ben givr?
That is, Gvir vs. Ben Gvir.
