What an amazing dvar Torah from the Meshech Chochma of Rav Meir Simcha HaCohen from Dvinsk zt"l. What I found amazing is that according to his interpretation, "Naaseh" when there is ahavas Yisrael, is on a higher level than "Naaseh v'Nishma" when there is Sinas Chinam, hatred of our fellow Jew! We never hear, however the greatness of the Jewish people with the word "Naaseh," but only with the words "Naaseh v'Nishma." Perhaps it is because of what it says in Kiddushin 40b: "Talmud Gadol sheh'ha'Talmud mayvee leedei ma'aseh." "Study is greater for it leads to action." How then can we take away the 'Nishma" (study) part of the equation? Food for thought.
Obviously God condemned Moses and Aaron so they could not cross the Jordan to enter the Promised Land. But Joshua and the Israelite Children were not Bar Mitzvah , did not have the Circumcision or swear the oath to obey Moses and Aaron . So they were scapegoats, escaping the wrath of God , and so they were able to cross over the Jordan as free agents, and explain to us the reason why Christianity is Salvation apart form the strict Law of Moses, where one is Father and the other is a Child or Son, and so Jesus set people free from the strict law, and so God winked the eye and let these people go free.

If when a convert comes up from the Mikva is declared a new creature. This is to our understanding. Like a new baby can have an old soul.?

Isn't there another case of Moshe forgetting the law in the case of הקנאים פוגעים בו?
