Great review! I'm really happy for all the positive feedback Makoto Shinkai is receiving with "Your Name" because he really does deserve it. Not only does he produce beautiful animations but his storytelling skills are phenomenal. There is such a uniquely human and genuine quality to each piece of work that I can't help but admire. I have to respectfully but strongly disagree with your opinion on "Children Who Chase Lost Voice." It is personally my favorite film and I love the conversation is sparks about grief and bereavement. I don't think he was trying to be like Miyazaki at all even though I can see the similarities and understand why some might like that film less compared to his other bodies of work. Thanks again for telling us viewers where we can purchase these films! April 7th can't come fast enough.

I did like the theme in "Children..." in regards to dealing with death of a loved one but I just felt like it wasn't to the style of Shinkai that you expect when coming into the movie. Maybe if I came into the movie without that expectation, my opinion would have been different.
But yeah, when it comes to anime and anime movies I love, I always want to share where to buy them. Not only because it helps people who are searching for it but it helps support the industry!
