- So you guys came here because like me you were seriously fed up! You have a car with an Android Auto infotainment system which requires connection via a USB cable. It starts working but then randomly disconnects as you drive, normally when you need google maps the most! I tried everything. Fiddling with settings and about 30 different USB cables of varying quality and length.. Sometimes they worked.. For about a week...
I finally found a permanent solution. It does require you purchase a cheap dongle but I promise you it is worth it...

I have suffered with this problem for 2 years now. Maybe even longer once I found this video without hesitation. I use a link and made the purchase in a matter of seconds. This problem has been a real pain and thank you very much for putting this video out and helping me get around it. I am for sure subscribing.
Glad it helped!
The blue-tooth adapter you've linked to RESOLVED the hassles I've been having with Android Auto for ages. Thank you! I have spent way too much time and money trying to get this working. $60 adapter works like a charm!
I am glad others are feeling the same relief I did!
Hello Guru. Thank you SO SO MUCH for sharing this resolution. I was really struggling with Android Auto in my VW Golf. I am very disoriented and the navigation system would always disconnect in the worst times. DISCONNECTION ISSUES WERE 100% SOLVED for me with this device. Thanks again and Greetings from Buenos Aires!!
Glad it helped!
Clicked on the USA link, bought it on Amazon and it works great. Easy installation and setup. I keep the phone in my pocket and Android Auto loads up automatically. Have not had any disconnect problems yet.
Great!
You don't know how big problem you have solved for me.. I was about to sell my car.. Facing this problem
Glad it helped!!
@@thatgearguy I ordered now on Amazon..is it worth buying na ? No hanging no disconnect????
@@pankajgarg1276 it solved my issue 100%
This is awesome. I can't believe what an easy fix this was. Thank you for this video! I have experienced android auto dropping and rebooting for a couple of years now. Sooooo frustrating . Nothing I could do to get it to work correctly. Pain in the a**! I could not use google maps or waze because it would drop after a minute of use. I saw your video, ordered the part, and it has worked perfectly ever since! Now I can use maps with confidence. I can't thank you enough for sharing. You have saved the day.
Thanks again!
Great! A pleasure!
Just bought this device from your link. Will update comment once installed and used. Thank you. I hoping it solves the issue.
Much appreciated, suffered the same problem . Watched your video, bought the product, problem solved! Subscribed!👍
Thanks for the sub! And glad it worked for you as well!!
This needs sent to subaru. They need to answer to this.
The whole point of Android Auto is it should automatically connect without this contraption.
Should
but doesnt
my rr velar has this issue changed a myriad of cables to no avail. i have a samsung s23 ultra my parner has a samsung s24 ultra hers works fine mine doesn’t . hoping a wireless adaptor will sort it
Mine disconnects off and immediately back on if i move the cable sometimes regardless of new cable etc...which isnt really a problem. But a couple of times it just flat out refuses to connect and wont for like a few days then magically works again🤔
Annoying that a fix to the problem is spending more money.
Thank you so much for this video! It is exactly the info I needed. I placed my order through your link. 🙏
Glad I could help. Mine is still working trouble free!
Big thanks I will try this
Same thing happened to me on my toyota hilux just purchased a different cable still doesn't work
Try this! Mine is still working well
Had disconnect problems several times. I think you might find it is actually a 'cable' issue but not a faulty cable. The slightest knock to the cable causes a split second loss in data connection and that throws things. Put mine in a caddy so the cable was naturally hanging down rather than leaving phone in a storage area of the car where the phone slides a little and cable gets slightly tapped. Had no issues since with any cable (except if I go over a massive pothole).
Agree. This solves all problems and no more messy cables or plugging in. Phone stays in my pocket.
I've been suffering through this for the past year or more; the connection was never rock solid.
My car doesn't support wireless connection. For 2021 toyota.
Neither did mine...

Update your app?
I check the box for wireless. Did not Work
@@donwarren4104 make sure you have updated android auto on phone. Then just connect via bluetooth to the dongle. It should kick in and launch android auto. Make sure your infotainment system has latest firmware update. When first connecting to smartbox you should also be running the cable. Once you have connection you should be able to disconnect cable. Keep trying. Once it gets connected it will connect every time after that.
Hmm I've been struggling for a couple of weeks now and my phone never connected in the first place... wondering now if this gadget will results the problem or not. Anyone out there with a Nokia xr20 and a Mercedes gla 2017 model...?
Resumen: Te falla Android Auto por cable?
Cómprate un adaptador usb inalámbrico.
Pero no seas estúpido y primero lee el manual, luego no olvides activar Android Auto inalámbrico en sus opciones de desarrollador
🤷♀
I get to where my phone says to click on android auto icon on my car and I do and then nothing happens
Plug dongle in. Connect to it via bluetooth.
What if U want it wired???
Then you have to put up with disconnecting all the time..
No wireless tick box
Then update android auto app on phone.

Great stuff as have same issue however am now not going to use any of these systems as they take your texts, contacts & driving style then sells that data!
Even if that were true, I really would not care. Unless your a spy then data showing you driving to Lidl and back isnt really going to harm you. It is not admissable in any court so no speeding issues. And it is a dumb unit. You can limit connectivity via phone app if your that worried. But if your that worried you shouldnt have a phone either.
@@thatgearguy its ok if your aware they do these things & consent but your being short sighted as there is legal cases happening because not only car manufacturers own systems are doing this so are things such as Android Auto they sell it to insurance companies and as such you get denied car insurance or premiums rise dramatically without you knowing why & now we know! Also having the govt know how many miles you go & where too on regular basis is not a good thing either as they are trying too implement systems limiting your mileage & charging for such things & stopping your vehicle remotely if you go over said allowance! So having nothing tracking your motoring inc phone by putting it at least in a RF case or min on airplane mode will allow you too travel more freely for longer without being penalised, go look up all ive mentioned central & regional govts/councils/states are doing all of this inconjunction with these systems & these will impact you whether your threat to others or not!!
@@darrylwigginton1067 I am sure you not using Android Auto will make a huge difference! Meanwhile for the 99% of non paranoid folk, this provides a working solution.
I have apple carplay but have the same problem, I was thinking it was my Hyundai Tucson because I also have tried different cables, even upgraded my mobile twice, will give the Bluetooth adapter a try
