Riggs and Murtaugh are represented beautifully in the Lethal Weapon score... Riggs: Eric Clapton's electrical guitar Murtaugh: David Sanborn's Saxophone They sure don't make movies like they used to.
It actually was supposed to be the end of Riggs. He was supposed to die, but it was changed later which angered Shane Black and that's why Shane Black only helped create the first two movies because he wanted Riggs to die feeling it added more emotion
I'm actually glad they didn't kill Riggs, but I could see how Shane Black could justify letting Riggs die. It would be humane to his character, who at that point, had lost so much in his life (Victoria, all of his cop buddies, and then Rika) and that last person he would say goodbye to would be his best friend in the whole world before going to see his wife and all of his friends again. If they were going to off Riggs, I would've preferred they do in the 3rd, to make a perfect trilogy.
This is the best version of this song ever. But riggs...how tf can he die? He's a badass. To go through so much and still trudge through it all? Couldn't kill him off.
this song just keep reminding me that I got to grew up and experience the best generation of movies that really make you feel can never beat the 85-99 period never.
I feel ya...i was born in 78!! Cannon films were my favorite...i would get goosebumps just seeing the Cannon logo before a film I didn't even know was coming on!
An amazing movie franchise. And I love this version of the song so much. A very powerful scene and moment in the movie. My parents let me watch this series when I turned 13 in the mid 90’s. If they ever re-release this in theaters, I will go see it on the big screen.
Love this song. Think it's the best cover of the song, just wish they would have done the whole thing. It really helps make the scene in Lethal Weapon a bit more touching.
I was aware of Lethal Weapon after I had been aware of Eric Clapton. The guitar licks in between the movies indeed got my ears. Recently I come to realize that it was Eric Clapton, my favorite guitarist. :)
I remember when I first saw the movie, and when the lyrics came in, I almost cried because I thought Riggs was really going to die, and I was so relieved when they started laughing:)
I remember this song. There was a 6:14 promotional single CD version that featured Randy Crawford, Eric Clapton and David Sanborn. A lot of that went around during the 80's.
Thank you. I thought I would never hear this music again. It brings back good memories. When I was a freshman at UT-Austin I asked a pysch. major to go out with me . . .well to make long story short in the end she said no. I watched the movie by myself, thinking life is cold and hard. Years later, I married some one else. That night I was knoking on heavon's door. Life's little leson of growing up.
If Riggs didn't survive in Lethel Weapon 2...they would have played this song for the ending credits. Thank goodness, that was not the case....the best movie franchise out of the 4, possibly 5.🙏🤞👌👍
"Mama, take this badge off of me, I can't use it anymore. It's getting dark, too blind to see. Feel like I'm knockin' on heaven's door. Knock-knock-knockin' on heaven's door Knock-knock-knockin' on heaven's door Knock-knock-knockin' on heaven's door "Mama, put my guns in the ground, I can't shoot them anymore. That long black cloud is coming down. I feel I'm knockin' on heaven's door."
I'm twelve again and I'm in love with Riggs :) "Breathe, breathe with me, breathe..." "Hey, Rog..in my pocket..." "I want you to throw it away, those things will kill you, really..." "You son of a bitch!"
There isn’t a version of this song from the movie. Clapton didn’t do a full song of this for the movie. The one he has released wasn’t from LW2 and it’s different. This sounds more like Bob Dylan’s song used in the Pat Garrett movie.
Strange that the LW2 credits do not Credit Eric Clapton nor Randy Crawford. They just have the song as written by Bob Dylan. This version (with the LW theme running throughout) is probably the best version of the song. That and GNR's version. Interesting fact. This song was originally inserted because Riggs was supposed to die on the ship in the original script.
Hey. Can you please help me to find where i can download this version of this song? This music is so beautiful. Just a link or something that can lead me to this song.
Love Mel Gibson and Danny Glover love lethal Weapon movies 87 and 89 for Mel were great love the patoit to and lethal weapon 4 my favorite from from Mel Gibson
+Robert Polanco maybe it would've had the movie ended as planned, riggs was supposed to die right there in murtaugh's arms. there's a video on youtube where a guy edited the ending so that riggs died (search up "lethal weapon 2 alternate ending"), and i can't tell which ending i like more
i know what your saying but even for a week just to spent it in those days would mean alot to me because my dad use to tell me stories and cool stuff about what he did back in those days and what it was like but yeah i know what your saying, thanks for the reply :)
It's currently 1 05 am and all night a group of drunk guys have been shouting this to badly played guitar. The original is good but I must say the drunk guys are amusing

This scene made me cry in the theater. I thought it was the end of Riggs. Little did we know....best movie franchise of all time in my opinion.
It actually was supposed to be the end of Riggs. He was supposed to die, but it was changed later which angered Shane Black and that's why Shane Black only helped create the first two movies because he wanted Riggs to die feeling it added more emotion

Magnitude_ 9_Quake even now knowing he doesn’t die it is still such a emotional strong scene.
@@PhilMante I live in a universe where there is only lw1 and 2. And this is the death of Riggs. Epic death.
this song just keep reminding me that I got to grew up and experience the best generation of movies that really make you feel can never beat the 85-99 period never.
You're truly lucky and I'm very jealous of you!
I feel ya...i was born in 78!! Cannon films were my favorite...i would get goosebumps just seeing the Cannon logo before a film I didn't even know was coming on!
I use to be happy when I saw the lion roar at the beginning of a movie 😀
The word was better back then and I’m 18
I agree. Well put.............
I love this movie the chemistry between Danny Glover and Mel Gibson was magnificent!
Wish I'd been in my twenties during the 80's. Such a great era.
Me too :)
Best action movie franchise hands down
One of my personal favorite series of movies, it's hard for me to pick between the first 2 which is my favorite, both are just so good.
An amazing movie franchise. And I love this version of the song so much. A very powerful scene and moment in the movie. My parents let me watch this series when I turned 13 in the mid 90’s. If they ever re-release this in theaters, I will go see it on the big screen.
Lethal Weapon 2 was the best in a perfect quadrilogy. That’s saying something...
Love this song. Think it's the best cover of the song, just wish they would have done the whole thing. It really helps make the scene in Lethal Weapon a bit more touching.
I agree
"No, man. I didn't die on your toilet, I'm not gonna die in your arms."
I was aware of Lethal Weapon after I had been aware of Eric Clapton. The guitar licks in between the movies indeed got my ears. Recently I come to realize that it was Eric Clapton, my favorite guitarist. :)
"You don't die till I say so!"
This soundtrack still inspires me in year 2021! LOVE IT! 🌞❤️
I remember when I first saw the movie, and when the lyrics came in, I almost cried because I thought Riggs was really going to die, and I was so relieved when they started laughing:)

"You're not dead till *I* tell you! You got that Riggs? You're not dead till *I* tell you!"
I remember this song. There was a 6:14 promotional single CD version that featured Randy Crawford, Eric Clapton and David Sanborn. A lot of that went around during the 80's.

La mejor versión de todas que he escuchado y no me canso de escuchar la una y mil veces más!!!!
If Riggs didn't survive in Lethel Weapon 2...they would have played this song for the ending credits. Thank goodness, that was not the case....the best movie franchise out of the 4, possibly 5.🙏🤞👌👍
