Photography Lighting like a PRO (Three Point Lighting Tutorial)

- Опубликовано: 10 май 2017
- Three point lighting is nothing new, but for many self taught photographers it is something you never learn. I really believe that learning to light this way and build it up in layers will benefit your photography EVEN if you only shoot natural or available light.

More than anything, I love how you managed multiple lights and camera alone while also being the model. Goes to show there's really no good excuse about why you can't do something as long as you're creative. Great vid and thanks!
Really appreciate the comparison shots with each of the lights separate and then additive. Very helpful to see what light actually was adding to the final picture.
Good basic three point lighting tutorial! Love the low-cost cardboard snoot too!
You are the first of tens of videos about three point lighting who doesn’t set the rim light too bright. Thanks for that.
It’s crazy how many people just nuke their subject from the back!
one of the most informative videos I've seen photography related. Thanks for that!
Jacob Klassen thanks so much for that Jacob ☺️
Deadset what a gc
After watching this video still asking myself why other Photographers they tend to complicate things. This is simple and nice set up i am happy with it!. Thank you!.

This is the best video on lights i have ever seen. I have a shoot tomorrow and i will be using this simple methodology. Thanks man
This is your best video yet and your earlier stuff was great. You're making an effort which surpasses some of the training courses I've been on. Keep it up fella because we in the UK appreciate it!
many thanks my friend, i'm improving every day.
Very useful video , I learned lot from it, looking forward more videos like this keep it up good work, R.manohar , india, chennai
Chances are even if you don't know these principles you are probably still using some of them without realising. 3PL is a great way to light photos or videos and just a great way to help understand light :)
PJ Pantelis how did you get your background to turn blue... not sure if you mentioned it and I just missed it
I just used this info to take a beautiful macro portrait of my Baby Groot Funko figurine, using my phone flashlight and two other torches. XD This is awesome! Thanks!
Best video About lighting ❤️❤️
Holy shit peeej production level is off the chart! Amazing content, quick, concise and informative! ☺️
Jeremyxlewisphoto thanks mate trying to be more like YOU
thank you for sharing your tips.
This is a great video to help with setting up any lighting, even in 3D rendering. Thanks.
Angelica Visione that’s awesome Angelica, thanks for the comment ☺️
That was a great example of the rim/hair/backlight isolated!
Great tips. I was always told when your doing beauty use a technique like this but put the reflector underneath your subject and place your fill behind you with the camera and work from there
How did you get such a smooth blue into the background? Looks really clean. I reckon you like to take some warmth away to make the grey/white seamless go more into the blues, but here it seems super clean and just too blue to just come from taking away some warmth?
Nice video! It was very helpful and clear.
Great work as usual peej....I especially like being able to apply this in natural light photography because it's easy to do! Awesomeness from the strobe master!
should play with some hotshoe flashes mate some time mate, it will rock your world!
I know mate :/...I have before I'm just saving for like an alien bees strobe cuz it's nice portable light source I can take with me anywhere
This was a big help. I needed a better understanding of the lighting.
really liked the way you did the video , being able to see the effect of each light source separately was a big positive.
Thank you for this video 💜

How is the background blue/green in the photos but white in video?? 🤔
Good vid!
superb video. thank you pal! :)
Fyi, your kit links are broken. I what lense you were using for photos. Looks good for a small studio.
How is the background blue in pics ? Am i missing something
Yess... I had the same question!!
any answers? haha
It's gray because it's not exposed and probably white balance is not correct or temperature is changed later in post-production (to cold)
You're awesome
love. thank you!
nice snoot idea
How did you get the grey background?
same question :)
Yahh
Cool dude, nice explanation. Thank you very much! :)

Great video!
I have a doubt.. how come the background is changed to gray in the photographs?
This is one of the best explanations I've seen. Thanks for posting it. May I ask what size/brand of collapsible reflector you would purchase for general portraiture work? Thanks!
Hi thanks for the great video is the 430ex from Canon also strong enough for a kicker light hope to hear from you all the best from Johnny from Holland
Hey!
Starting up my own very small studio space in a spare room in my house mainly for portraits.
I was thinking of the following pieces
2x Studio Strobe flash
1x Beauty Dish
1x Soft box
I am on such a cheap budget and struggling to find affordable strobe lights, do you think the gordox E300 will produce enough light?
Needs as many tips from anyone as possible :)
why the background change the color from white to gray after the shot ?
Phenomenal video , short sweet but very informative and effective 👏🏽
Hi, thank you for the video. I would like to create some makeup videos. Could you please suggest a camera. Will the light set up remain the same? Shall I get the same lights as mentioned by you or you have some new suggestions. Appreciate your help
Right now I use my IPhone 11 Pro. I need something for creating videos and taking makeup pictures.
