More than anything, I love how you managed multiple lights and camera alone while also being the model. Goes to show there's really no good excuse about why you can't do something as long as you're creative. Great vid and thanks!
Really appreciate the comparison shots with each of the lights separate and then additive. Very helpful to see what light actually was adding to the final picture.
After watching this video still asking myself why other Photographers they tend to complicate things. This is simple and nice set up i am happy with it!. Thank you!.
I just used this info to take a beautiful macro portrait of my Baby Groot Funko figurine, using my phone flashlight and two other torches. XD This is awesome! Thanks!
How did you get such a smooth blue into the background? Looks really clean. I reckon you like to take some warmth away to make the grey/white seamless go more into the blues, but here it seems super clean and just too blue to just come from taking away some warmth?
Chances are even if you don't know these principles you are probably still using some of them without realising. 3PL is a great way to light photos or videos and just a great way to help understand light :)
Great tips. I was always told when your doing beauty use a technique like this but put the reflector underneath your subject and place your fill behind you with the camera and work from there
I learned something here, when you used the rim light only and turned into it something awesome was going on, how kool would using the rim light as the main light in a low key setting be, thanks for the hard work
This is your best video yet and your earlier stuff was great. You're making an effort which surpasses some of the training courses I've been on. Keep it up fella because we in the UK appreciate it!
The lights are affecting the background. Any way to fix that? Would you recommend adding another light behind you to evenly light the background? Great tutorial btw
Great video PJ! Didnt see this question asked elswhere, but is the colour shift of the background done in post? Or is that because of the distance of the light from the backdrop?
Hi, thank you for the video. I would like to create some makeup videos. Could you please suggest a camera. Will the light set up remain the same? Shall I get the same lights as mentioned by you or you have some new suggestions. Appreciate your help
Great work as usual peej....I especially like being able to apply this in natural light photography because it's easy to do! Awesomeness from the strobe master!
Hey! Starting up my own very small studio space in a spare room in my house mainly for portraits. I was thinking of the following pieces 2x Studio Strobe flash 1x Beauty Dish 1x Soft box I am on such a cheap budget and struggling to find affordable strobe lights, do you think the gordox E300 will produce enough light? Needs as many tips from anyone as possible :)
This is one of the best explanations I've seen. Thanks for posting it. May I ask what size/brand of collapsible reflector you would purchase for general portraiture work? Thanks!
Hi thanks for the great video is the 430ex from Canon also strong enough for a kicker light hope to hear from you all the best from Johnny from Holland
Wow! Amazing video PJ! Thank you for sharing all of this with us. One question please: Were the photos edited? Or are these what the camera really directly captured?!
Great video man, i'm looking forward to having a studio light soon, so this video was very informative, i really learned a lot just in this video, i have an moderate setup, but it'll get the job done
You are the first of tens of videos about three point lighting who doesn’t set the rim light too bright. Thanks for that.
It’s crazy how many people just nuke their subject from the back!
More than anything, I love how you managed multiple lights and camera alone while also being the model. Goes to show there's really no good excuse about why you can't do something as long as you're creative. Great vid and thanks!
