  • In my travels through Bend, Oregon I decided to find some trails through google, alltrails and Gaia, but none of them fully described the difficulty of the trail, or what to expect. I found out for myself that I may want to do a little more research beforehand next time 😅.

    The craziest thing about this is that it looks like you’re out there alone. If anything breaks or an accident happens then you’re screwed unless you can call or find help.

      Some from the car being angry about low tire pressure while offroad, the lockers engaged, cruise control, fog lights, just different things but all is well!

    The first weekend I had my TJ I took it out and got high centered on an obstacle alone lol. You handled those rock gardens well, but I bet the adrenaline was pumping. Time to invest in some sliders?

    I've been going through your entire catalog of videos as a new 2006 Cayenne S owner. Love the content! How would you compare the Turbos to the S version in this video? I'm having a little buyer's remorse with the steel spring S vs the Turbo with air suspension.

    • @HarrisonSchoen
      @HarrisonSchoen  Год назад +1

      I prefer cayenne s with no turbos or air. less to go wrong, and easier to work on when something does.

    Do you have the 2spd trasfer case? Or is this car AWD? It seems like a little more gearing reduction and at least a rear locker would make a world of difference. I seriously cant get enough of that exhaust note!

    Awesome work mate! Did you have to upgrade anything else when you did your 4" lift? Control arms? propshafts? brake lines? Cheers.

    • @HarrisonSchoen
      @HarrisonSchoen  3 года назад +1

      1" spacer on the subframe, and 3" spacer over the stock springs/shocks. that's all that's necessary for the lift! though I opted for the Eurowise tubular control arms. also replaced lowers with new OEM

      @@HarrisonSchoen ok cool thanks mate. Gen 1s seem to be well priced at the moment. Do you think the Gen 2 958 is worth the extra $? Your Gen 1 seems to do the job quite well!

    • @HarrisonSchoen
      @HarrisonSchoen  3 года назад +1

      @@offroadoffshore8987 I'd definitely spring for Gen 2 Diesel if you won't be offroading as heavily as I do. You get 2-3x better gas mileage not to mention like 700-800 miles on a tank.

    • @offroadoffshore8987
      @offroadoffshore8987 3 года назад +1

      @@HarrisonSchoen ok thanks mate. Yeah I'd probably go a Gen 1 or 2 diesel, as we have lots of distance to cover in Australia. I have a petrol V8 Rangie and it uses a lot of fuel. I'll probably go for a diesel, as they seem to have less issues compared to the V8 petrols too.
