  • This video is about technological advancements in brain computer interfaces and incorporates a story about a future where a device like Neuralink may become mandatory in society due to Artificial intelligence incorporation pushing humanity forward. This video derives its facts from science, but puts a spin on a hypothetical future of what new tech may develop into. Enjoy!
We aim to inform about facts, while adding a science fiction (but possible) spin on new information and new advancements to society. We want to make you think about the future!

Look up an episode of the outer limits I believe it's called the Stream.
It was made in the very early days of people's Uber paranoia about the internet.
In this story the entire Earth all but one man are connected to the internet via a neural implant and this system is run by a computer called the Stream which is an AI system. People don't have to go to school or have any form of education anytime they want to know something they instantly get the information all information is stored on the global information that work known as the stream and accessible 24/7 via your stream link and plant. The one guy who's not part of the Stream was in a car accident with his parents when he was a kid and his implant was damaged and they couldn't repair it.
In effect he's treated like he's handicapped and had to learn from reading books and had to learn how to read his whole life he's been treated like dead weight and he works as a janitor in the storyline and everybody treats him like a waste of oxygen. It's one of those stories about in the world of the blind the one-eyed man is King. Without ruining the whole story by the end of the story he has to teach the world to learn the way he learned and function the way he functions.Personally I thought technology like this wouldn't be for another hundred years and it'll eventually become common like cell phones but I didn't think it would be a literal implant Direct to your brain I figured it would be something like a necklace you wore around your neck or something similar to a hearing aid that attaches around your ear and connects to your brain wirelessly through skin contact kind of like Bluetooth. I didn't think it would actually be a literal medical procedure required kind of thing. My brain is already a scary enough place without thinking about somebody sticking a microchip in there.

And why wouldn’t AI just replace us entirely? I still find it weird we think that humans will be the apex species until eternity when the universe is 7,000,000,000+ years old (if not way older or a simulation) and there’s no reason to think this.

That's exactly what the video we link to at the end of this one discusses. It talks about that very scenario of humans become obsolete. Check it out if that interests you. Thanks!

Agreed. I for decades was suspecting that space belongs to robots. Humans evolved for earth. Moment gravity, air, water, radioactivity is off we suffer.
Making colonies or space ships support our "life style" is huge overhead where small mistakes and unforeseen consequences and we are dead.
So going to say Venus in person is off the table...
Even going to Mars seems crazy at the moment.
With current surge in AI and Robotics research robots will just get there faster. And with 24 minutes one way communication with speed of light between Earth and Mars... Remote control is also off the table.
Space belongs to robots that adapt to planet instead of humans that want to Terraform the planets...

Why would they? Cutting edge AI is barely intelligent as compared to life, let alone able to replace the most successful population of actual general intelligence which is in humanity, an intelligence which is also sentient, something which may or may not be computable and may be important for general life long intelligence like in life, nobody actually knows how far we will be able to take machines yet.

I do think something along those lines should be incorporated. People need to be held responsible in terms of not just corporate greed. @@UntoldOrigins. It is self-evident seeing how AI is nothing but abuse, stealing art, disrupting society with deep-fakes, voice cloning, facial swapping and manipulation of genders, etc with no consequences for just dumping these tools into the public. I co go into more detail and elaborate, but I feel like this is a good enough statement to make my point. The world is going to get far worse unless people decide to take a stand whether it be by government and legal consequences, or by social rejection as a moderate approach. This is the best case scenario.

@@oskarngo9138, I believe technology will eventually enable seamless BCI, without an invasive procedure, IE, without putting chips or any other physical devices into the brain. However, if there are life-changing effects from people opting for BCIs which involves invasive procedures, I am not against it. I am just saying the decision should be made by the individual, NOT mandatory.

What if I told you that I see a possibility that the Earth (as we know it) is flat? In that our perceived reality is merely a construct, residing on a computer mainframe somewhere…
What if we destroyed the planet we once called home, but were able to preserve bodies in cryogenic stasis while our minds were kept active with a neural interface? But we have yet to engage in faster than light travel? So we are in route to another planet, and life as we know it is more closely related to an in flight movie…
    Just a thought.
