What a treat to see my old home, the High Street again but how sad to see what was once a dynamic shopping centre decayed. Kirkcaldy needs to get it's own council again and focuseed development aand maintenance of the High St
Lived in Kirkcaldy from 66 to 79, really miss the place, saw one of my old homes, people's club and institute, only time I am back now is funerals :-( , but will always be home to me
Is the Raith ballroom still standing last time I was there it was all boarded up had some good nights in there it was very popular that was 50 years ago ,living in Australia now it’s like every thing else time moves on
Been there so many times since I have Family there. from from 1981 up until 2008 ish Sad to see the High Street looking so depressed. Too many shops gone. I remember Whimpy's and McDonalds as well as the Penny Farthing and Jackie O's. Great memories of the Lang Toon. I remember one older couple inviting me and my then Girlfriend in for Tea and Penguins. when the Husband balked at inviting 2 Americans in she chided him " Hesh! Where's your Scottish Pride! Hopefully The Scots Rise to the occasion and re support local pride.
And I do love to see the original Burtons buildings in these towns.. imagine any retailers doing that now..a house style in which all of their stores around the country are built .
A good looking high street, some really lovely buildings but it looks as if it’s been hit hard by the retail demise… so many empty shops .. towns like this will need to refocus their towns centres going forward.. it’s not all about retail anymore..
Is there work been done inside the old picture house in the high street to save the building I heard a couple of years ago ,has any thing been done or have they run out of money ,jimmy Aust
The high street is dead now I grew up there in the 19-60 s the high street was full of people then, you could drive right through then ,it’s in a sad decline now was there two years ago before COVID ,I’m an xpat living in Australia since 19-74. Kirkcaldy is still ok ,but it gets battered with wind in winter ,
Compared to your walks this was an average. Most of your walking videos we usually come across the 'To Let' signboard. Is it the pandemic effect or a normal thing there?

Very nice walk my friend. I like so much British Streets :-) Happy weekend
The promenade needs a ferry link to Leith. The hovercraft was great.
An incredible trip! Totally enjoyed it 100%! 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Thanks for stopping by!
Very nice . You started off very near Raith Rovers' ground . Pity we didn't get a glimpse .
Ah good point! Ah well...
I'm in Cardenden but love going for walks down this way

Well I don't know what's normal for Kirkcaldy, but some towns have been hit pretty hard by the lockdowns.
Uh
