Had those now for 5 years, still sounding ever so good. Great set of speakers that will last a long time. I keep the volume just a quarter, its enough to shake my apartment, any higher is just insane.
The reason why high power is desired is because it gives you headroom to EQ problems with frequency response away without losing too much usable volume and clipping.

My set is 12 years old, the only two issues are crackling sound on the volume dial and wear on the larger cable to the subwoofer that causes the set to sometimes do a loud subwoofer beat and mute the system (but very very rarely). Its a beast and makes the windows shake.

My main gripe is the store lowered the price of them by 30 dollars the day after I bought them. I almost didn't buy them as I saw reviews by people who said they bought them and there was hissing or a dead channel or too much treble or bass. Online magazine reviews all put them at 4 stars or better. I read a review by an audiophile who spent time taking them apart, praising the parts, then dissing the audio measurement then saying the do sound great for music if the treble is adjusted. From that I learned that if you read reviews by people like him you probably won't buy any speakers, and that the stupid F***k probably messed up the treble when he took them apart. Hooked them up to a dell laptop which has Maxx audio though I don't have use that but can use other programs to adjust them. The did not have any problems. No buzzing or hissing or too much treble and sounded excellent right out of the box though I adjusted the Maxx for medium size speakers. For some reason at small size setting the details overwhelmed the vocals. They sound about 100 percent better than the speakers they replaced, I don't mean just average but really good. There is no distortion when you crank up the volume. The subwoofer runs clean with no crossover contamination that cheap speakers have and the satellites pump out clean sound that strikes you as far beyond the capacity speakers that size should have. Unless you are a party animal you will never go past half of their volume capacity.

Hey man! To help with your monitors, I have used a M to M stereo jack extension from the output of the PC to the input of the right speaker and kept it wrapped neatly around the main power cord so it doesn't look messy and it sounds the same as using the 3.5mm Jack behind the sub. I know it's a late post but maybe someone else might use this. But what I also did which improved sound direction giving me three channels, Is that I connected the centre speaker output jack from my PC to the back of the subwoofer giving me an even sound through both speakers on the side and still manage to get the effect of directional sounds on the left or right watching movies! Kinda like a virtual soundbar if configured correctly through Dolby Pro or some other software. Cheers for the vid!
I know it's been a while since anyone commented, but I have these and it has been the best money I've spent on computer speakers. You will not be disappointed. They aren't perfect, but for the price, you will not be able to come close to finding anything this good. Buy them and be done with it. You'll be glad you did.
Never too much...just turn down / up the volume as you see fit. The more I use these speakers, the more I like them. I bought some creative Gigaworks T20 Series II speakers for the other computer in my work area for about $70. They're OK, but I should have just bought another set of the Z623's. I keep comparing the two, and the Z623's just make me so unhappy with the cheaper speakers. Get the Z623's and you won't be sorry.
I agree, I've had them for around 8 years now and they are still working great. I bought a bluetooth transceiver/receiver that attaches to the 3.5mm jack and to retrofit it as a bluetooth speaker setup.
just bought a set of these. having used Trust Tytan for many years of happiness. Now the Trust Tytan is pretty loud and bass proud but ive heard great things about this z623. Just wanted a good little set up for gaming etc. I have a sound bar although i dont think i will need that.
I've read through hundreds of comments and I can't believe that no one asked this question: when you plug in the headphones, can you control the volume via the volume knob? I am asking specifically because I currently have Logitech 5.1 system with wired "remote" control that has volume and bass knobs, but none of them are working for plugged in headphones - which is why I am looking for a replacement.
Great review man! Good thing i've found this video before buying the product. Now i have a knowledge about it and i'm definitely gonna buy them. Thank you!
i have had these speakers for about 4 years now. They are good and everything but it's time i upgraded to studio monitors as music production is something i really want to pursue. They are good for all round playback but for any detailed work regarding sound, these aren't the ideal speaker. Still like them though, i give it a 7/10 for playback
Thanks for the review. I recently purchased the Insignia NS-PSB4521 2.1 speaker set to replace an Altec Lansing 2.1 setup that I've had for years and the multi-pin connection started to fail. I purchased the Insignia set at best buy for about $40, which is close to what I paid for the Altec Lansing set, but was disappointed with the sound quality once I got it home. I'm returning the Insignia set, and just ordered the Z623. I don't really like the proprietary connection, but these got great reviews, so I'm hopeful.
logitech z623 or swan m10 which 1 should i buy ......... m not heavy bass lover but i like punchy and accurate bass ....... sound clarity is my main priority
I have had the Z640 speakers for 12 years and they thump hard to this day but the wires are becoming bad, and connection under the rubber comes in and out AND, i bought them USED even then so dont know how old they are
I had Z5500. They were the most brutal pre-set gaming media speakers ever configurated. I really miss them. Infortunately, due to their passive cooling system,i fried the amplifier. Yikes.
@@1sonyzz I'm pretty sure that the amplifier got fryied. My brother is electro technician and tried to fix it but obviously he didn't had enough will. We could've atleast disassemble it and use speakers for diferent project.
I have had these for over 6 years and only recently started having issues. On the back of the left sat. speaker the power cord is coming out and started having inhtermittent interuptions from it. But these will surprise you the bass will straight shake my walls.
So i watched the sound test review video. and by listening to the echo-ish part of the test, and the size of your room..... its gonna be a fucking blast. my room is basically the exact same size as yours, and holy shit man im excited, getting them tomorrow.... merry Christmas btw
Have had these speakers since November. Bought to replace old labtec system on tv in living room. When I first got the speakers, the clarity on the highs and mids was absolutely garbage. I thought the thx certification was a lie. However, after about a month, I noticed they started getting quite a bit clearer. Now, if I compare them to my bose companion 2 speakers, the clarity is on par if not better than the bose. However, I would still say the clarity isn't amazing, it's decent, however, these things are super powerful and pack a huge punch. Also, watching movies on this system is great (can see why they have thx certification) when watching movies. Overall, quite a decent system for a great price.
why not move the left monitor a bit more to the left so u dont have to put the right monitor slightly behind it. This will leave both speakers exposed and not hidden and you'll have full vision on both monitors
You should put a sample of how it sounds in the video so we can compare how it sounds with other speaker reviews... though it doesn't show what they will sound like in person, we can still get an idea of how good they are
I am between these and new(2015) z533. Because they are new and hi quality speakers, beautifull!! They are not so powerfull but they are strong enough.(15+15w, 30w sub). I dont know what to do.
Absolutely amazing review, that’s why I love Thai channel you have straight to the point reviews that cover everything you need to know, also as soon as I get mine I’m watching This video on them:)
I solved the left right issue by flipping the RCA cables. I agree the cord is too thick and heavy. Also I've had issues with the Right speaker cable in the sub pushes in and can lose connection and the right speaker the wire has pulled out of the back too. However I''ve had these speakers for like 7 years now.
Ive had these speakers for 3 months and I really wish I would have got a mini amp and hooked up some bookshelf speakers, which you can do for this same price and then use those speakers for a real receiver and home theater setup down the road. For this price point these speakers are just not very good. The sub woofer is loud and that's about where the good descriptions of it end. If you were to run the bass on 0, not turned up at all it feeds in huge amounts of distortion. You basically are forced to turn the bass down to 10 on the bass dial, if 12 is 0 so that it sounds clean. This then cuts out any bass over 40-50hz so they dont sound good at all for most types of music, it clips the kick drum on any rock music and most EDM. The other major flaw in these speakers is there is no tweeter. At the $160 price point in the US you should be getting a 2 way speaker . Instead of putting 135 watts into a bad amp they should have just put a cleaner 80 watt amp and relied on a sub that isnt as powerful but still sounds decent. If you dont care about great sound quality and just want something loud these are the speakers for you. They will shake your walls with boomy untight bass
Ohh, and plus the cool controller which I loved is all messed up too...not knocking the system now...been booming with them for like probably 10 years...just want something equal would be fine for me. Cheers!
I have the Z506 and the Z623, both providing great Bass but I would have to go with the Z623 as they sound much more crisp and better bass from the sub woofer.
you can still use a vga or 9 pin cable extension - it it doesn't matter what the pin out is on the speaker wire as long as all 9 of the wires in the extension cable are used

Z906 Are definitely better and a lot more powerful including the sub! but it depends on your price range the Z623 are still amazing for the low price they are :)
this a very good speaker system for it's price, I have 1 too...the power that it have is way more than enough for normal everyday use, the sound quality is ok for everyday music / movie / gaming, just I have a different taste - bass below 35-30 Hz - this speaker system's subwoofer is not for that...I made a little test: somewhere between 44-45 Hz the speaker have almost no excursion - so the enclosure is tuned to let's say 45 Hz...the excursion is almost the same around 33-35 Hz when I hide / unhide the bass port, so theoretically this is the lowest bass what this subwoofer can control, lower bass no...that is the reason why I plan to build a different enclosure for this speaker, just I have to measure the TS parameters first somehow...yes, my unique enclosure will be waaay bigger than the original, but it will sound good even below 30 Hz...

I want these for my bedroom which is kinda small. You think its too much?
Never too much...just turn down / up the volume as you see fit. The more I use these speakers, the more I like them. I bought some creative Gigaworks T20 Series II speakers for the other computer in my work area for about $70. They're OK, but I should have just bought another set of the Z623's. I keep comparing the two, and the Z623's just make me so unhappy with the cheaper speakers. Get the Z623's and you won't be sorry.
@@fwardaz I was thinking about the Z337. Less power but with Bluetooth and cheaper. I might just save some more money for these..
Thanks, mate.
Frank Ward Hey mate. Can you tell me where did you put the subwoofer? I just wanna make the most outta its capacity.
Finally, someone who understands that we can't hear how they sound.
+Angel Young Never, ever buy anything from Insignia, it's Best Buy's house brand!
+Babbling Boolean what about Dynex?
I got these in the mail a couple days ago. These are great if you only need the 2.1 setup.
+Hugh Jazz Dynex is the same thing as Insignia, it's a Best Buy house brand.
when he said theres no sense giving me sound sample thats where i knew i had to suscribe this dude!!!!!
Thank you for this review :-) It was very informative :-) I think I'll pick them up :-)
These speakers are really old but they're still insane.
i own this,, not regret highly recomanded..the sound is very crispy room filling but i can only play half volume for now because i have baby
Thanks for letting me know why you can't play a music clip... but what do you think of the speakers?
Its a home theatre or just speakers. Can it use for tv?
logitech z623 or swan m10 which 1 should i buy ......... m not heavy bass lover but i like punchy and accurate bass ....... sound clarity is my main priority
Get swan m10
I have had the Z640 speakers for 12 years and they thump hard to this day
but the wires are becoming bad, and connection under the rubber comes in and out
AND, i bought them USED even then so dont know how old they are
samljer wow that’s amazing
Thanks for the sample. I can imagine how loud it is :D
Great review! Btw, your desk looks very cool! Is it from Ikea?
***** No, it's from an office shop that only operates in Canada.
Insha'Allah, Gonna buy it soon. Thanks for the fantastic review.
FYI. If you don't like a lot of low bass, go for something more balanced. Got these a while ago and not digging the unbalanced sound.
Hi bro 😊 which 2.1 balanced speaker, u will recommend , needed clear, loudness
I just bought these . They sound great!!!! Really powerful
True review, this has awesome subwoofer, especially thunder sound is 🥰🥰
thanks for your in depth review man they are really cool speakers man
I had Z5500.
They were the most brutal pre-set gaming media speakers ever configurated.
I really miss them.
Infortunately, due to their passive cooling system,i fried the amplifier.
Yikes.
Easy fix if you're like me and do dyi stuff.
@@1sonyzz I'm pretty sure that the amplifier got fryied. My brother is electro technician and tried to fix it but obviously he didn't had enough will. We could've atleast disassemble it and use speakers for diferent project.
so glad you pointed out the speaker sound doesn't translate. find it hilarious that people think you can tell
Wait did I hear that right? A subwoofer on a GLASS SURFACE?
I have had these for over 6 years and only recently started having issues. On the back of the left sat. speaker the power cord is coming out and started having inhtermittent interuptions from it. But these will surprise you the bass will straight shake my walls.
Babbling Boolean Really nice video, helped me a lot I'm definitely going to be getting these ones very soon
OMFG that sound clip was amazing...Sold me. BTW where did you get your desk ? I need a new one to fit my needs.
This would be a perfect upgrade to my Z533
I've had mine for two years and they're amazing. Get them
Just shipped mine from Amazon (expedited).. so pumped.
Dirty no cafrs
why not move the left monitor a bit more to the left so u dont have to put the right monitor slightly behind it. This will leave both speakers exposed and not hidden and you'll have full vision on both monitors
I have these and I feel so lucky that I have them. Best sound I ever had on a PC
You should put a sample of how it sounds in the video so we can compare how it sounds with other speaker reviews... though it doesn't show what they will sound like in person, we can still get an idea of how good they are
This was mentioned in the video... Sample is in the video description.

Bro can you please compare z623 against the z625. In particular, the difference between z623 using 3.5mm jack and the z625 using the optical cable
YO random question.. Where did you buy your desk? if online could you provide the link. That desk is super clean
Forgot the model, although I still have the desk, it's rock solid. I bought it from here www.source.ca
@@Babblingboolean thank you for sharing its pricey as expected lol
just bought these for $10 on fb marketplace. feeling blessed 🙏.
Ohh, and plus the cool controller which I loved is all messed up too...not knocking the system now...been booming with them for like probably 10 years...just want something equal would be fine for me. Cheers!
anyone using them now? would any of you guys still recommend?
Still working great.
I have the Z506 and the Z623, both providing great Bass but I would have to go with the Z623 as they sound much more crisp and better bass from the sub woofer.
Logitech Z625 is it worth getting this model?
You dont need a remote controle. Turn volume to full and change the voolume on your tv
It's actually better to keep your sound around 60 percent and adjust the volume on the speakers themselves.
These are 133 Euro in Finland, should i get these or is there some other pair of speakers that're better at that price class?
Should i buy this in 2017?
Really good pair of speakers... only lacks on high end frequency... But sounds really great..
uMakesmehappy247 i have these, so good 😍👌🏻
you can still use a vga or 9 pin cable extension - it it doesn't matter what the pin out is on the speaker wire as long as all 9 of the wires in the extension cable are used
Great video man, really appreciate the high quality review.
Bought this expensive speaker set 3 years ago to replace my "still working" budget 15 year old Creative Inspire 4.1 speakers... After 3 years now experiencing crackling sound first on the left speaker and then the right as well. Tried everything but unable to find a solution.... Now I'm back using my budget 18 year old Creative 4.1 speakers and I'm NEVER spending $150 on PC speakers again.... Not worth it for me.
You can extend the cable with this: Amphenol CS-DSDHD15MF0-010 15-Pin HD15 Deluxe D-Sub Cable, Shielded, Male/Female, 10', Gray
Works great, no static or loss of sound.
Thanks for the video I have the ASTRO A50 headset and can hear it perfectly. My old Logitech speakers that i had for years gave out so been in search of some good speakers for a replacement and no one in my town has these to test in store. So good video was able to hear that these are the ones for me.
Ive gone thru 3 sets of z623 in about 5-6yrs ,its always the on/off button that goes, i still use 2 of the subs connected to my str sh750 receiver, they both go well, slightly smaller than most hm theatr subs but the z623 subs are easier to hide😆
My Logitech x530s just stopped working after 15+ years, time to upgrade to these I think
I bought these because my friend recommended them. Paid €170 for them and I don't regret buying them a single bit.
Are you still happy with them? :)
Simonas Morkūnas
Yes, very happy. Well worth the money in my opinion.
Great review man! i have these Speakers for my Mac and the Z906 for my bedroom TV. totally agree sound testing on youtube is close to pointless with different speakers and the processing youtube does. Thanks! :)
+CentralCoastBoyz How do the Z906 sound compared to the Z623? I'm trying to decide which to get.
Z906 Are definitely better and a lot more powerful including the sub! but it depends on your price range the Z623 are still amazing for the low price they are :)
Thanks. Just curious, are u on the California central coast? I'm in Monterey is why I asked.
Haha no sorry mate, I'm in Australia!
Well it was a pleasure talking to you.
this a very good speaker system for it's price, I have 1 too...the power that it have is way more than enough for normal everyday use, the sound quality is ok for everyday music / movie / gaming, just I have a different taste - bass below 35-30 Hz - this speaker system's subwoofer is not for that...I made a little test: somewhere between 44-45 Hz the speaker have almost no excursion - so the enclosure is tuned to let's say 45 Hz...the excursion is almost the same around 33-35 Hz when I hide / unhide the bass port, so theoretically this is the lowest bass what this subwoofer can control, lower bass no...that is the reason why I plan to build a different enclosure for this speaker, just I have to measure the TS parameters first somehow...yes, my unique enclosure will be waaay bigger than the original, but it will sound good even below 30 Hz...
Nice review, I just bought it here in Japan. Logitech is actually called Logicool here for marketing / regional proposes I think. Anyways, I'm looking forward to installing them tonight and playing some games / watching some movies on them with my PS4 and computers.
I also say Zed!
