Steve Hartman remembers childhood home with his father

It's been over a year since Steve Hartman helped his dad pack up move out of the family home for good. Now, his father George is in a senior living home in Atlanta, where Steve recently visited -- "On the Road."

Never saw this follow up to the initial story of moving your Dad out of the childhood home that he built!! So many beautiful stories but this one ranks of one of my favorites; little details like the shoehorn; does anybody even own/use a shoehorn anymore? It reminded me of my father’s shoe kit that had his polish and yes , shoehorns in it. Your stories unearth memories long forgotten. It’s been 5 plus years since this story aired : If your Dad is still able to receive this message please pass it on to him that his story was my favorite.
