This was outstanding. I wish we could get this interview accompanied by your comments and reflections in the hands of every Senator, Congress Member, every person in the FDA and FTC, every Federal and State judge.
The inflammation is so significant. I'm in my mid 60's -- no particular physical issues -- but I now have NO aches and pains -- no stiffness in the morning, no soreness after exercise, no creakiness in my hip when I stand up after sitting too long. I feel about 15 years younger in that way.
Sane here. It is amazing. I was about to have a major surgery to relieve pain I suffered for over 20 years. Was in the surgeon's office the day before I got my Rx for MJ. Within weeks that pain was resolved. Gone.
I really like the example of “We don’t say ‘you are high bp’ or ‘you are cancer,’ so we shouldn’t say ‘you are obese,’ but rather, ‘You have the disease of obesity.’” I know it’s semantics, but it seems like an important distinction. I like this format of commentary while watching together. Great job. Oh, and Doctor Stanford is absolutely impressive! I’d definitely like to hear more from her.
Dr. Tyna Moore has a painful type of arthritis & the shots help to take it away. She is super knowledgeable about ozempic GLP1. I wish she’d talk more about the compound.
You’ve given excellent and thoughtful commentary on this panel discussion. Both of you are doing such a professional job with your channel. I watch and like at every opportunity and thank you for the content.
So if Lilly is able to match Japans pricing but can’t with our messed up health system why can’t they make the Lily direct vials at that price? They are not dealing with the insurance or PBM’s in that case. Great content by the way guys!!
While I loved seeing this discussion, we can not dismiss the point that RFK is going to make about what has caused our population to BE 75% overweight! I think Both ends (not sides) have very valid points to make. We need to address the processed foods, AND help those of us that have been affected by our bodies not being able to metabolize it correctly, and then suffer from so many health issues. Address how much money our health care industry would save! But then we touch a very sensitive nerve. Stop advertising drugs! We didn’t used to.
CD: The challenge is RFK jr reduces the discussion of obesity to eat better food and exercise more. While both things are good ideas they are far from the solution to the disease of obesity and they are not the soul cause. Yes we need to improve our food system, yes we need affordable access to these medications. Yes we need a better healthcare system. All are true And yes eliminating drug advertising is a great idea.
I really enjoyed this video and discussion about the glp-1 present and future. Thank you for showing this podcast (discussion) by the CEO of Eli Lilly and the Dr.
Great video and information. I wish they can lower the price. Right now I’m paying out of pocket monthly. I was on ozempic until the physician screwed that up. Now I’m paying out of pocket. Looking forward to your next video
This was a great video! The CEO’s response to lowering costs felt like a word salad, which was expected. I hope the tragic loss of BT sparks meaningful conversations about the complexity and brokenness of the healthcare system, and that his death doesn’t go unnoticed or in vain.
In regard to the development of meds to “ help control urges” I sincerely hope that is possible. I’m a nurse who has taken care many people in liver failure caused by alcoholism. If there is a way to help people not suffer that torture, it would be a gift to humanity.
I agree with you guys great question. And I was one that couldn't get it approved by insurance even though my endocrinologist prescribed Zepbound. And none of the pharmacys in 50miles could guarantee having it. Started Qysimia as an out of pocket med till I was able to get on with a health company that I could get compound trizepatide. Sure hope we can keep ordering it at the affordable since I'm only 5weeks and seeing progress.
Dear L and C!! I was searching for a compounding company so I could get a break from the $550 I was paying monthly... I happen to see the video of Laraine unboxing her Mochi shipment!! I was so impressed by the way the way they shipped and cared for the product that they were sending.... So I joined mochi! USED YOUR CODE!! and happy to say that I am on my 2nd dose from MOCHI and so HAPPY that I can continue my GLP-1 meds to my goal .... DOWN 33lbs so far since Sept 1 2024!! Thank you both for the time and effort you put into keeping us all IN THEN KNOW!! LOVE LOVE !!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for inviting us to share this experience of hearing this discussion. You guys are Awesome!!! Love your channel, very authentic! Keep up the great work 🥰💯
Cost to make 1 million of 2.5 mg dose is about 1.25 million dollars (5 milllion dollars a month). Actual current pricing for 1 million people at $1100 is (a 1100 million month '1.1billion' ). In general a profitable company needs to double their cost price to make money. This is 220 times more. Perfum manufacturering is one of the highest margin products and it is only 30 times their cost.
The congressional budget office estimates they cost about $5 a dose double it for profit margin you get to $10 double that for manufacturing investment and to pay off development costs and you get to $20 a dose. Still a long way from the $1000+ the charge retail. But your point is taken. Then add in .74 cents in each dollar for the PBMs The system is terminally flawed
Thanks for sharing! When I began my journey 6 months ago I was desperate to try anything and had to trust my doctor’s suggestion to try MJ. I was prescribed the medication but not given any education to help me have success. I’m looking forward to my appointment next week to have a more educated discussion. This is thanks to channels like yours that continue to provide up to date information in a way that this 69 year old can understand. Love this format!
It hasn’t always been this way in healthcare. Consider reading Why Our Health Matters by Andrew Weil MD for ways that we can stop this sick care model of massive profiteering from illness and begin to have the care we deserve!
I truly believe these GLP-1 medications will not only help with weight loss but also with other health issues, including addictions. I have personally experienced it. I’m excited about the future of these medications and wish more people were less judgmental of them and more open to understanding their benefits. Thank you, DOWNSIZED, for all the information you share to educate myself, others and none believes of GLP-1s on the benefits, side effects, and latest news about GLP-1 medications.
I think as more people hear about them and see what they can do, glp1s will become more widely accepted and understood. That’s the goal of our channel! 🤩
Can we play a game called, “What’s up with THAT”? I’ll start. Just finished my first week on Zepbound Vials and my IBS seems to be gone!?? Huh? What’s up with THAT? 😅
CD: they need capacity - they are using high prices to moderate demand and selling every dose they can make. When their new factories come on line they will have more flexibility
The CEO is full of crap and there is no other reason why it costs more in the US other than greed, pure and simple! Thank you for bringing this interview to our attention and until they bring the prices down, I hope the compounders are continuing to be allowed to make this lifesaving medicine for us. Insurances and employers don't want to cover this drug because of the cost.
I live in the UK and am on my 3rd week of my first 2.5mg pen. Mounjaro has only been available here since February 24. Here we are able to buy from online pharmacies who give referral credit, so my first pen cost £110 ($138.86) using someones referral code. They also do price matching and black Friday weekend were giving double the difference, so I got a £70 ($88.36) credit in my account. I then priced matched my next pen, only a £25 ($31.56) credit this time. Someone used my referral code so in total my second pen cost £15. My daughter is giving my credit to her friends/work colleagues so hopefully I will earn more credit towards my next pen. We are getting it at knock down prices compared to the USA and I still dont understand why its so expensive there.
Those are great prices! Our healthcare system in the USA is so messed up because insurance companies are allowed to make profits. We don’t have a national healthcare system like the UK.
I think that when he said "if employers want to create the same setting as in Japan" he was talking about by-passing the PBM's. I have not confirmed but I heard some where that Eli Lily was working with at least one on-line health provider to provide lower cost meds, which to me says by-passing PBM's???? Just my thoughts, could be wrong.
CD: that is certainly part of it but it would be a reinvention of the whole system. And yes we have several videos on Eli Lilly and lily direct partnering with to to sell direct
CD: while Laraine and I have adapted our eating to a sustainable healthy plain we both plan to be on these meds indefinitely. They are a treatment for the disease of obesity not a cure
This was outstanding. I wish we could get this interview accompanied by your comments and reflections in the hands of every Senator, Congress Member, every person in the FDA and FTC, every Federal and State judge.

wow!
This was great. I wish it was a lot longer. Thanks, Christopher and Loraine.
Me too @lyndeeluu! I feel like they could've talked for hours. So much great info here. Thanks for watching!
Agreed Mindy! Glad you like this format. Yes we need to hear more from Dr. Stanford!
And yet the CEO still uses the label obese!
Dr. Tyna Moore has a painful type of arthritis & the shots help to take it away. She is super knowledgeable about ozempic GLP1. I wish she’d talk more about the compound.
I’ve listened to some of her podcasts. With her micro doses I just assumed she was taking a compounded version. Does she split pens?
You’ve given excellent and thoughtful commentary on this panel discussion. Both of you are doing such a professional job with your channel. I watch and like at every opportunity and thank you for the content.
Thanks for your nice comments and for watching!
Great subject today. Thank you!! ❤

Excellent question
Good point.
Obviously the elephant in the room is that they don't want to, and they don't have to.

Thank you for sharing the interview and I really enjoyed your breakdown during the video😊
You’re welcome Jazzy!🦋
Amazing content tonight, thank you Laraine & Christopher for all your hard research.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Did the FDA use the same criteria for the C vaccine ?💁🏻♀️
Covid vax? I have no idea
Thanks for showing the panel. Very interesting. Things to look forward to and things to be concerned about.

CD: the scientific research that we have reported on on our news videos continues to point to GLP-1s doing exactly that

Insurance can be so frustrating. Ours doesn't cover any weight loss medicines.

CEO’s need to do better by the people they take money from.
Unfortunately, capitalism rules they are completely beholden to the shareholders, and absolutely do not serve the customer.

@thedownsized now Ricks said there is 8 million on his product, there has to be double that on compounding tirz. FDA look at the data!

Yep
Good afternoon

Is people learning to eat right so when they get to goal weight they can do it on their own? Just wondering.
