I'm surprised you didn't mention that the tram runs on batteries within the city center because they didn't want to put up "ugly" overhead wires there. There are charging contacts in the ground at every stop. I think that's one of the most interesting features of the network.
If you ever come back to Luxembourg, there is a Schindler panoramic lift on the other side of the valley where that train station is. It goes 2.5m/s and offers a great view over the valley. It's called "Pfaffenthal Panoramic Elevator" for anyone interested.

That really is epic. Those trams look great. I really like how they've concealed the wheels.

Here in Akureyri the buses are free. However Iceland has no railway so transport across the country is via road or flights. Both of which are very expensive

do you think modern transit vehicles are better than old ones? I say modern, not just for the accessibility features, but some of the GORGEOUS tram & train designs. Did Luxembourg hire a fashion artist to "model" those trams?

It would be very nice if public transport was free in the Czech Republic, but i dont think something like that is happening anytime soon sadly

that would be nice, but public transport is already getting kinda busy so this is one of the reasons why it wont happen soon

To be fair all rail transport is free if you skip the fare. I once fare skipped all the way from Carlisle to London.

Lucky little Luxembourg getting free transport just like Germany. This is what Liz Truss the next Prime Minister should do with transport in the UK and to make it free for everyone. Or at least make transport free.

It would be good but I don't see it happening in the near future. Although I have heard that in several areas around the country that from october the Government is going to subsidise bus fares to make them lower, but that is definitely not on par with what Luxembourg has done.

I wouldn't think it's good for Dublin to have free Public Transport in dublin but the thing I like about it is that you can get on Public transport for like €2.00 for adults, €1.00 for young adults and students, and €0.65 for children for all trains, trams and even buses

I don't like air con on public transport as it drowns out the motor sound. Also on some systems with limited power supplies, the air con reduces the acceleration of the train.
