I made the mittens and they turned out to be perfect 😍😍😍 Also for the waist coat stitch what I did initially was take a lower size hook and made very loose stitches so that helped me alot, hope it helps the other crocheters out there ❤️

I have been crocheting since I was 3 years old. 43 years of fun. You should have mentioned that the cuff is called ribbing. 2 single crochet rows, make up 1 rib. I do love your tutorials. Just giving you a heads up. For newbies that should be explained to them. I do have a few very cool patterns for baby and toddler mittens I gladly share with you, since I do not make videos. 3 designs are my own not to be shared. I make appliques to be added to the mittens. Just to share a few ideas for future videos.

Also at the end of each single crochet row for a seamless look pull your single crochet 2 both remaining stitches front and back. For closing do use the front stitch on one side and the back stitch on the other side and do a slip stitch. Your cuff will look professional and seamless.

I am not sure what happened, but you lost me after switching to SC into a V stitch. Mine looks nothing like what you showed. Basically cut away the mess I had and looking for a better tutorial that isn't so hard.

Sorry you are having trouble. The chain 1 does not count as a stitch. If your count is off I recommend placing a stitch marker on the first stitch in each row.
Let me know how it works out. This stitch can be frustrating is you don’t leave your yarn really loose. I also show you a trick in the video for doing this stitch. If you don’t like the waistcoat stitch this pattern can be done using the single crochet. Good luck. Happy Crocheting.

For the wristband you start by chaining 17 but then start row 1 in the 2nd chain from the hook so you have 16 stitches in the row. You should have 16 stitches in each of Rows 1-18 of the band. If you only have 10 you have missed some stitches (usually at the end or beginning of the rows). I recommend starting over and using stitch markers to prevent missed stitches. @@ollys1188 I just measured the mitten and when it is completed and all stitched together the wrist is 2 inches wide, which means 4 inches flat. The mitten at the widest part is 2.5 inches. The total length is 5.5 inches. Hope this helps.

I can't get past row 10... these dang waist coat stitches are the death of me. Frogged the whole thing and switched to a knit pattern instead. I can't make baby items if I'm cussing this much over a mitten.

You pull the right side of the V out the the way using your hook to make it easier to get you hook in. You can also do the pattern using a single crochet instead.

Does the chain 1 you do for every row count as a stitch? I know we should have 16 but I keep getting 15 if I don’t count that one. Help!
