    Saving money by using reclaimed material is a great solution. Your small house looks very cosy at this stage of the renovation. Thanks for sharing.

    Be shore to put in a lot of insulation in the roof. Swedish cold winters are not to ignore..
    Looking forward to the next video

    You can always add a splash of colour with fixtures, fittings and furnishings. You have certainly got into the rhythm of renovation! It’s all starting to come together and look more like “ a tiny home”! ❤

      Thanks! We thought the same regarding adding colour😁

    It's funny to see how different the color seems in a different light, I like the green more than the "yellow"! It's cool to be able to find second hand materials! Great progress, it's nice!

      Thanks! We definitely like the green more than the yellow as well!

    Honestly, for that much property and all the buildings, it sounds like a very good price. Comparing to the area in US/Florida where I live, it would 2-3 times that amount. I think that property and all the little cottages is a great place to make the home you envision. I think is wonderful that Sweden has 2nd hand stores for materials, I'm all for upcycling and recycling as much as possible. It's also nice you have a stock pile of materials in the out buildings to sort through.
    The cottage you're working on is coming along nicely. I like all the insulation on the walls, insulation, board then dry wall, sure will cozy and snug.

    Your torp is beautiful as it is!! I really hope that you will treat the main cabin with respect and restore it carfully with traditional "byggnadsvård" in mind. It´s a cultural heritage and too modern metods and material will kill the spirit of the property.

    • @buildaway
      @buildaway  6 месяцев назад

      Thanks! We will keep the main house as traditional as we can! We certainly like the heritage, that's why we're here.😁

    Zo gaaf!! Wonen jullie ondertussen nog steeds in de bus? Hoe gaat dat met de kou?

      We zijn inmiddels verhuisd naar het kleine huis. Maar de bus is goed warm te houden. We hebben hem goed geïsoleerd en de kachel doet het zeer goed!

    Hallo Beerend en Charllotte,
    Hebben jullie een huis gekocht in Zuid-Zweden met 4,6 hectare.
    Of veel Noordelijker ,vind de prijs wel erg duur.
    En als jullie Noordelijker wonen, ik zoek mensen in de omgeving van ånge kommun. 🏡

    • @Basil-Fawlty
      @Basil-Fawlty 7 месяцев назад +2

      Wonen in omgeving Örnskoldsvik. Kijk goed naar de economische aspecten; Ånge is helaas niet het beste jongetje van de klas. Maar als je er voor gaat; Haverö (50km van Ånge) is een geweldige omgeving, fantastisch mooi en betaalbaar!

      @@Basil-Fawlty ik heb een huisje in Östavall.
      Vandaar de vraag of er nog meer Nederlanders wonen in de omgeving.

    • @buildaway
      @buildaway  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hoi. Wij wonen daar helaas niet in de buurt. We zitten op de lijn van Oslo/ Stockholm. Voor deze regio is het een redelijke prijs, gelet op de grootte van ons bos, het aantal gebouwen op het land, de jachtvergunning die erbij zit en de locatie.

  • @mchlle94
    @mchlle94 21 день назад

    How would you find out if a forest will be cut around the house?

    • @buildaway
      @buildaway  20 дней назад

      You can, if you know how owns the land and if they remember to tell you. We know people who came home one day and the forest was gone because it was decided it was time. And there is nothing you can do about it, because it's just somebody else's property.

    Nice that you are so environmentally conscious and reuse and mix old and new.
    I myself create carpets of flowers in my small garden which favors the biological diversity of pollinators and other small insects which are decreasing sharply and faster every year by 2.5% according to the researchers. Globally, the insects have decreased by between 50-70%. Has about 100 different species of plants. Also saves some native herbs that many see as weeds but are attractive to the little ones. 🌻🌼🥀 Tips on flower carpet:: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tapestry_lawn

      Thanks for the tip! We will create flower patches in and around our garden. Maybe in the future we'll even set up a beehive!
