I get emotional.... every viewing. 🥲
Rose's departed spirit descends to the RMS TITANIC shipwreck, 2 1/2 miles down... and, then, as she travels along the portside promenade deck, the ship is magically restored to new! Rose begins to reunite with all of the good souls of TITANIC, at the Grand Staircase... ultimately ascending the staircase and embracing/kissing her lover: Jack. The ship's passengers and crew begin applauding, hauntingly muffled.
And, then, all of these good souls enter the bright, white radiance of the gates to Heaven.
I am in complete tears at this moment. It is such a beautiful ending to this majestic film! 🥲❤🙏🏻

The statue at the base of the railing is a Cherub. Cherubs represent the presence of divinity.
Earlier in the film, Jack meets Rose at the staircase before dinner. She descends the stairs and he takes her hand and kisses it. She is in a similar post as the cherub framed just behind them. Jack seeing an Angel come down from Heaven, basically.
Now Rose is ascending those stairs and reaches her hand out to him once more.

Titanic was and is the greatest movie-going experience of my life, especially the IMAX 3D re-release.
And these special effects pioneered the digital stuntman. You have to give credit where credit is due.

I'm tired of people blaming James Cameron for the terminator 2 4k transfer... he had absolutely nothing to do with that 4k release.. yes he did remaster the movie but for 3D purposes ONLY.... The 4k Blu-ray was released based solely on greed alone from studio canal/lionsgate

I love the movie! I saw it at the theaters about 3 times. I first owned it on Laserdisc in 2 versions (Dolby Digital & DTS), then DVD. For some reason I never picked up the BD. So glad to finally get an upgrade and to 4K to boot. Watched today. Phenomenal transfer...but the audio was not as good as the DTS laserdisc. I plan on having my own review up for it tomorrow.

I own the 3D version of this film and saw it in theaters in its original theatrical run as well as when it was released in 3D, and those visuals were extremely well done by Cameron. I'll prob pick this one up but I already own the OLD collectors edition bluray box set that came with a rectangle "ship" style box with a bunch of inserts of old Titanic memorabilia reproductions (if anyone remembers that one). I did only pay about $60 for it preowned but it was in mint condition. This special edition definitely has the James Cameron surcharge but I definitely don't think it's worth $135 bucks. If it were any other director it would probably cost about $70 max. I also hate the way the discs are packaged. They should have been put in standard center plastic disc holders or at least package it with slipcovered regular release disc case.

Not the 25th anniversary though, that was last year. Yep I’m that guy! Lol ok you mentioned it in your video, you’re forgiven. I was 20 when this came out and yea this was the ultimate date movie lol. I’ve owned it in every format from VHS to now 4K. I’ll always remember how the VHS had the movie split perfectly between the romance scenes and the disaster scenes, so I would watch the 2nd tape more. I’m so glad this movie got a respectable transfer and not the DNR nightmare of T2. Gives me hope that Cameron’s trifecta of The Abyss, Aliens and True Lies will look great.

Well... Ken... I know this may sound like I am being critical of your review... I am not... but the "Model" feeling you get.. The film was so well done, that as a fan of film and cinema, I just seriously enjoyed the experience... I get what you arew saying, but I understand they did not build a "to-scale" version of the Titanic, so I was pleased with the job they did on the transfer... The collectors edition is just too expensive. I am a huge fan of the film, but not 130.00 plus tax. • @Neonmirrorblack

Detail was scrubbed compared to the Blu-ray release. It's easy to see with many clothing materials. So many reviewers claiming it was scanned from the original film, but you can easily see this was absolutely NOT the case at all. It looks like they are using the 3D release from last year that was already scanned at 4K, that also had almost all of the grain removed as the source, then added some fake grain back in for this release. This movie does not look "filmic" in the slightest compared to the blu-ray and looks like Cameron tried to make it look digital.
Does it generally look good? Yes, but it's a heavily altered version that doesn't seem to actually be a 4K scan of the original film. Real 4K scans from films in the '90s do not look this "clean". Not even close. You're talking about the film looking natural, and having grain? What the hell man? I'm sitting six feet from a 77'' OLED, and there's barely any grain at all.
As far as the effects go, the majority of them do not hold up in 4K, especially anytime they involve CGI people. From their stiff animations, or awkward positions at times, they generally look like they're from a bad animated film and they ALWAYS stand out.
At least Aliens and True Lies should hold up if he doesn't completely scrub away all of the grain and then add fake grain back like he seemed to with this.

I always thought that Cameron was terrible at writing characters. He tends to create stereotypes, IMO, and the reason I love this movie has nothing to do with Jack and Rose. It's the technical mastery of watching the great ship sink, minute by minute, little by little, then faster and faster until it became a rocket sled ride to hell. Just little things, like watching the water slowly creeping up the passageway in quiet moments, all the way up to the great ship ripping in half. That's the reason I got the 4k disc.
I loved the movie so much that when it first came out, I watched it, then the following weekend, talked my two teenaged kids into coming to see the movie with me, then I watched it in the theater one more time.
