You always make everything look so easy! And that's good! I have a 26-gallon tank and I find it challenging to keep up with it and my two dogs. I had two blood parrots and two convicts and one of the blood parrots harrassed the others to death and she tares up everything in sight. Only thing left is the algae eater and he is larger so she can't harass him and he eats her eggs and they live in harmony. Lol Great video!

Holy crap that's a lot of work, taking the tank down on it's side and the patience of waiting for the silicone to dry. It looks totally awesome tho. I dunno if that cut out for the intake would be big enough for certain prefilters like the eheim 6664 I use but perhaps some day I'll attempt the same project. Awesome vid!

They're pretty strong and sturdy, made of Styrofoam I believe. Manufacturer says theyve got a protective coating for scrubbing and cleaning algae buildup. But I wouldnt mind a little green algae build up on them, may give it a more natural look, we'll see ☺

Awesome, you can use the fluvial rings it comes with, but you’ll need more. Or you can go with matrix that is great for the money.

It’s his tank he can do what he wants to do! Granted it does take a lot of space in an already over stocked tank, but again this is his tank and well, that’s his choice to do so...Either way, Kev check out Universal Rocks...they have beautiful backgrounds that are flat and give off that rocky look and works great for guys like us who have 75 gallon tanks. I may pull the trigger on one with a rock set because it gives the look and also allows us to basically not give up any space💪🏼 And if you want some green up in there which I used to hate but feel it adds a realistic vibe to the tank, check our elite cichlids for their amazing realistic plants. I’ve always been a hard scape guy but I just added a small realistic plant to my African cichlid set up and it really does look great👌🏼 By the way great videos lately my man👍🏼

Anyway, I noticed it looks like you have a green powerhead as a python attachment? Is that for siphoning without a nearby sink? I’d also appreciate if you linked it in or just provide more info on where to get it and/or any alternatives. Thank you.
Thanks for the sub!! Thats right, I no longer use the sink attachment as I realized it wastes a ton of water by having to leave the sink on and running. The green attachment is a pump I use that gets the job done without wasting so much water and it actually siphons the water in and out much faster. Heres the one I use and I love it! One thing that comes to my mind is the status of the Tanks Silicone Seals that will be hidden with the new Background.
This popped into my head probably because I just resealed my BioCube.
If anyone is going to do this then when the tank is empty, check the Silicone seals especially those that will be hidden for a long time.
If your tank has some age and of course if there is any question about the long term validity of your tanks Silicone seals
This may be a good time to Re-Seal your tank first and then Silicone in the background.
Your waiting 48 hours anyway and your tanks Seals can be curing too.
Because once the background is Siliconed against the rear glass it's gonna be a long time before it gets removed.
It may be beneficial to just do ALL of the Silicone at the same time.
The old Ounce of Prevention equals a pound of cure.
Just an FYI and at least something to think about..
Great tip! Fortunately my tank was only a few months old when installing the background. But I agree for older tanks, might as well re-seal! 😊
I just found your channel and it looked interesting so i went ahead and subscribed. I like both sets of decor, but from the front the new background looks like it takes up a lot more of their swimming room. Does it just look like it does? You know...depth perception and all that.

I love the look, and actually since I removed the 2 big rock decor from the center I feel they have more swimming space. I see them now swimming from glass to to glass full length, I think they love the new setup too 😊

Two questions tho real quick: Are you adding the wave makers back in ( I wasn’t sure if I saw them) and were you able to fit the fx and 407 strainers in with the heater?

Yes I did put 1 of the 2 wavemakers back, only the one on top. Not enough space for the bottom one and that big rock on the right. And Yes I was able to fit both the fx6 and the 407 intakes plus the heater into the chamber. But I only used clip for fx6, due to my canopy kind of covering the hole and I didn’t want to cut that side too. So I just stuffed the 407 intake down there without the clips but it’s secure anyway, not going anywhere.

That is beautiful! I am very new to the channel and love your content. I am getting a new 75 gallon and wanting to put an aqua decor background in it. In your opinion, was this too thick? I have not decided between the normal model and one of the slimmer options. I think they have two slimmer options. One similar to the one you put in that you still have to silicone, and one even thinner that you don’t. Would love to hear your thoughts.
Thank you Tim! Its definitely thick, but still not too thick for my 18" deep 75 gallon. It will take up some space though so if you're already concerned with that go with their slim models.
