  • In this video I try to do some speed printing with the X-SCARA 3d printer.
Printing at 140 mm/s, the top speed currently on this 3d printer.

My aim of Scara is not speed but something out of the BOX😂. Not confined within a box. But accuracy and reliability is important though.

Until now, the x-scara has not been the most accurate, but I have 3d printed 60t pulleys. When i get the metal ones, and install the mellow RRF e3 pro board I will begin more testing to get better accuracy.

    Cool, u changed color for Xscara 👍.. that’s what I have.black & white PLA.

I think pla is good for the printed parts. But just be careful with the motor current. If it is set too high they can get hot and melt the base. I used petg because of that. But pla is stiffer.

What’s the centre distance shoulder joint to wrist joint & wrist joint to nozzle centre?

@@3D_printer_guy thanks, I will change to bigger thin bearings at all the joints. The pulleys can still be printed not an issue to me, Bigger but thin bearings with hollow shaft to keep the weight down. Looking for bike headset bearings or thrust bearings to fit. My challenge is cheap readily available but still comparable in performance.

Hey man I built my own variant of this model but using the X-SCAR code as base. When I print longer distances (like a rectangle) I notice an issue. It starts of with quite consistent movement and speed at like the first 2/3 of the long side of the rectangle, but then all of the sudden at the last 1/3 part it starts to accelerate... Therefore the extruder can't keep up and I get massive underextrusion there, still prints but structurally its kinda screwed up.
Any idea what could cause this random but consistent speeding up? It speeds up on both of the long sides of the rectangle (at different points though) through the whole print from first to last layer. Not sure what to do, changed up many settings in the slicer but nothing. I am assuming its in the firmware, I saw that segments per length had a comment about jumpy movement?
    Thanks in advance!

If you have the x-scara firmware on a different scara printer, i think the elbow crosstalk May be a problem. Please join my discord to discuss more.
