I've played and finished this game 3 times during lockdown and it never fails of amaze me and that scene in Macalania just before the calm lands never fails to make me cry for some reason.

@@CaptainColeslaw27 I meant the cut-scenes, they didn't really make them as different as I wanted. They are pretty much the same as when released. I was hoping they would redo the entire scenes to fit the technology they have now, not just upscale it and do a little lighting change. But still such an amazing game. I might try to tweak the cutscene myself some day.
What's funny about Spira is that the population is hunted for a 1000 years by a gigantic monster that mostly lives in the sea, and yet they only build villages and cities at the coast.
In Kilika's case it is mainly because of fiends running all over the island and the temple being nearby. But the general rule of thumb was that so long as the population was never too big, Sin wouldn't attack even coastal towns. In this instance, it's kind of the teams fault that Sin attacks there.
Man I forgot how old the graphic were on this game. I'd love to see it get a full FF7 style facelift, but I know that would be a LOT of work, even more so then updating the textures to HD.
Yeah, IF they give it the remake treatment, which is a very big and sadly unlikely IF, I would expect them to do it FF7 style. I'm in the minority here, but I'm not a big fan of Turn-based combat. I absolutely LOVED that FF7 Remake moved it to real time action combat. Just makes the game more fun.
@@CaptainColeslaw27 I spent a few days checking about the purportedly cancelled franchise of Half-Life, and came to a conclusion: Since the symbol of Half Life is a lower case "Lambda"(λ), the game has to be discontinued cause they don't want to be associated with GAA; a Gay movement that goes waaay back into the 1970's. (Source: Wikipedia) Unless they changed it to another symbol like WWE did, we are not likely to see the third installment of Half Life, anytime soon. I guess they weren't thinking much when they decided on that symbol! Cue the: "We are a peaceful movement, and we refused to have our symbol connected with video game violence!" But in an email to the company, that we never get to see. Either that, or they are currently high on STEAM, and forgot to make the third game...😏

I don't think there will ever be a game like FFX ever again. This game was emotionally beautiful, and had some really deep existential questions.
