- From the Hanna-Barbera vaults comes one of the more unique animated pairings in Saturday Morning cartoon lore. Moby Dick is a friendly white whale to teens Tub and Tom, and together with their pet seal Scooby, they battle the dangerous villains of the undersea world like the Iguana Man and the Crab Creature.Then, travel back to the prehistoric era with Tor. He was just an average cave teen until a stranger presented him with a magical club that turns him into super-powered Mighty Mightor when danger strikes his village. A great white whale and a teenage cave dweller are the headliners of this 2-Disc, 18-Episode Collection.
I miss watching these classic cartoon series. Even though I'm over 50 I'd still watch this today.

I collect them on DVD to show the kids what real Saturday morning cartoons were, and I still watch them myself. BTW I am 61.
I'm with you on that. I'm 57 and they don't make cartoons like they use too.
Those were the best days of cartoons and brings back memories as a kid in the 1970s? Next month of December I will be 53 years old and I would still watch it. 👍😎☮✌😊

At least one can find it on Google, buy DVDS, or watch it on RUclips. Maybe even download an app selection to watch it. I tried to but yet they wanted money every month. You dig groovy cat. ☮

YES!I remember waking up early and watching the entire line up of cartoons on every network till 10 am, especially around fall with the new line up premiering at 6 am. The art and animation may have been crude by today's standards, but it was beautiful art and the stories were exciting.

Growing up in the 60s and 70s, Saturday morning was such a magical day back then. I’d watch cartoons with a big bowl of Honey Comb cereal. I used to pretend I was Mightor by rolling up a newspaper and making believe it was Mightor’s club. Imagine a 6 year old boy raising a rolled paper above his head and shouting “MIGHTOR.”

One of my all all time favorite cartoons. Always felt like he could kick anybody’s butt in the Marvel or DC Universe. He’s like a prehistoric version of Thor. Always loved the booming voice. Just hearing it made your testosterone levels go up. Not that I knew what that was back then.
There IT is! A new movie would blow all of the minds with the classic themes and dynamic action for our colony protecting warrior.

Mightor was the 1st superhero I watched. Nothing would stop me from watching every weekend.
Cartoons of the 80's and 90's were the best. Great time being a kid!
Of course, this was from the '60s.... but that said, I don't disagree.
I only caught the reruns on Cartoon Network when I was a kid, but you got to love the classic cartoons of yesteryear.

Mightor actually came out in the late 60's. I believe he came out in 1967 or 1968. He was my favorite cartoon superhero. Marvel Thor was my favorite comic book hero. I always wished Thor was more like Mightor. Mightor did more Superman like feats of strength and did not depend on his club like they portrayed Thor depending on his hammer. Mightor could also fly without his club and he seemed as invulnerable as Superman. Which Thor should have been also. Stan Lee and Marvel originally created Thor to be Marvel's answer to Superman. But, they messed up. They should have made Thor be more like Mightor.
You make a great point - Ironically the character of Mightor was created by Hanna Barbara because Marvel chose to go with another (cheaper) animator for the Thor animated series. BIG MISTAKE.
+abc xyz It was great being 5 or 6 in the late sixties early 70,s. Teenage mutant ninja turtles sucked. Yuk! Sorry nothing beats Speed Racer, Jonny Quest, Spider Man 67/69. Pink Panther, Loonie Tunes, original Scobby Doo.
I know Hanna Barbera created Mightor when Marvel backed out in them making a Thor cartoon. But, I didn’t find out until the past few years. Before then, I always said and believed Hanna Barbera combined Shazam/Captain Marvel, Thor,, and Superman when they created Mightor. You can imagine how surprised I was when I found out Marvel backed out of the deal with Hanna Barbera , especially being a Thor fan. How ironic..
More irony. DC brought Mightor back and was part of the story of Hanna Barbera cartoon characters. They portrayed Mightor like Thor power and ability wise. Mightor did not show his awesome strength on a regular basis as he did in the 1967 cartoons. Mightor used his club as much as Thor used his hammer. There was not a balance like in cartoons. Mightor actually showed his his strength more than using his club in the carton. Mightor NEVER struck anyone with his club in the cartoon. Again, I wish Thor was more like Mightor. Imagine Thor being like Mightor and using all of his other powers also that he has. Oh, but many would say he would be over powered. But, that’s another argument. Thor is at least strong as Mightor. Mightor just used his strength more.

I still think Tog is so cool. Both "The Mighty Mightor" and "The Herculoids" rarely killed their goes outright. More often than not, they showed restraint and let the villains get away. I don't know why these action cartoons met their sudden death in September of '69. They were a wonderful release for kids and much more uplifting than the depressing nightly dose of misery and hate from Vietnam.

That's awesome, these were a little old when i was a kid. Saturday mornings were for all sorts of weird cartoons like fantastic voyage, fantastic 4 and Johnny quest, than scooby doo came along and was fast my favorite! You got a lot of good fun cartoons, stuff that won't be shown in America again so as to not hurt anyone's feelings.
Im one of the few people saw boomerang cartoon before adult swim or tnt channel in cartoon network as a kid, many indians don't know, they know only commercialize mainstream cartoon. And more often see cheap Bollywood film ha3

When it comes to almost forgotten old cartoons, I liked to be in different world experience away from outsiders and keeping myself underground that's how till now I feel nostalgic of old relic cartoons of hanna berbera that aren't relatable today's cartoon or any modern-day pop culture

I feel like this stuff holds up. I ended up watching this entire clip lol riveting. I was a 90s kid and never realized how old the cartoons I was watching actually were. Blew my mind when I found out Scooby Doo was a 60s show.

I was born in 67 And watched all sorts of cartoons when I was growing up, some were from before I was even born and some were made when I was a kid, God I miss being a kid in those days, we didn't have the internet, dish network or direct t.v. or even cable tv, but damn we had some great cartoons on Saturday morning.

I'm as old as your dad and this cartoon. I caught the syndication when Hanna Barbera's World Of Super Adventures came out in the late 1970s (I want to say 1978).
I couldn't get into The Superfriends back in the 1970s because it lacked the 1960s Hanna Barbera music action score

"Hilda" on Netflix is really good. Definitely my favorite modern cartoon. I like Adventure Time as well and I have fond memories of the first couple seasons of Spongebob and Redwall. I guess every generation has its classics! I love to look back and wonder what media I would have been attached to If I was born earlier. Hannah-Barbera would definitely have appealed to me as a kid who loved Saturday morning cartoons.
