Sara Lawson is one of the RUclipsrs that I have followed for awhile. I have always enjoyed her attention to detail and how she explains all the steps both intricate and simple. I was so pleased when she said 'yes' to being on the show. So grab your sewing and a cup of tea and enjoy.
I follow both of you and could not have been more amazed that you connected with each other! What a great example of how sewing can bring people together across vast distances.
Hi Karen, thank you for interviewing Sara Lawson. She is my favorite bagmaker, designer and teacher. Sara and her husband Danny run a service and business of high integrity.
Sara Lawson is my favorite bag designer. I watch her every Sunday evening. Her and her husband, Danny, are just super people. I use her patterns and purchase them with the tutorials. It’s like having her there with me as I cut the fabric and sew. I have gifted several of the bags and my friends and family love and use them and get many compliments. Thank you for the terrific interview!!! You are one of my favorites too!!! 👏👏👏👏
Even if you've never made a bag you will enjoy following along with Sara. She's a fabulous instructor. I was so clueless in making the simplest bag and Sara makes everything easy to understand. She's very clear and concise and her patterns are flawless. Right now I'm making a quilt from a pattern by a RUclipsr that I will not name because there are numerous mistakes in the pattern and it's been frustration upon frustration. You won't be frustrated with Sara.
Sara's patterns are great. The bags are finished on the inside and don't have binding to cover the seams which [in my opinion] makes a bag look homemade. They are right up there with high end quilted bags in the market.
As a bag/purse lover I was so happy to find my tribe as a Proud Bag Lady with Sew Sweetness! Sara's patterns and videos are great and she does literally go from beginning to end which helps a lot as a visual learner. I could be sewing so many different types of projects, but rather than be a Jackie of all trades and master of none I decided to focus on bags and quilts. The fact that I can mix the two and make some wonderful projects makes me sew very happy!
I've been following Sara since her PBS days. I have both of her bag books which I bought for "someday". Her Sunday night show is the only alarm on my phone for a RUclips show. She answers questions on the fly each week and recently started "Bag Lab" where she picks from questions submitted during the week and films an in depth response. She also shares books, notions and fabrics. She and Danny are so much fun. I love the bags I've made from her patterns. They aren't confusing :-)).
I love Sara and her patterns. I have them all. I haven't made them all yet, but I love choosing which one to do next. Her Sunday talk on You-Tube is a never miss or if I do, I catch up as soon as I can. I recommend her to everyone I run into that says they like my bag. I'm so glad that you interviewed her.
I have been trying to get to this video and finally opted to stay up late to watch. I love Sara’s bags. She has a wide variety from which to choose which I love. Great interview!
I've been watching Sara Lawson for 6 years and truly enjoy her manner of teaching, her husband Danny has earned the bag man title which I think is a brilliant idea for them as a working team. Thanks for reaching out to other sewing professionals.
What a treat! I just love Saras patterns. I've purchased and made so many. Everyone knows to leave me alone Sunday evening. That's RUclips time. Sara is my favorite part of the weekend! Her husband Danny, joins her on the show every other week. I NEVER miss Sew Sweetness. Thank you for this interview! I just love your interviews Karen. You made my day.😊
I don't always enjoy "talk with the maker" programs, but I enjoyed this one. Sara is articulate and poised, and the information she presented was interesting and useful.
Hi Karen and Sara! I follow both of your channels, and I’ve learned lots of techniques and tips. I find that Sara’s patterns are detailed and easy to follow. I really appreciate her pattern videos. The PDFs are a great choice for me, since I get them immediately and don’t have to pay for shipping to Canada. Stay well, ladies! Muskoka ON 🇨🇦
Hello! I hope you had a great day. I was busy in my sewing room all day and didn't finish anything but had fun and filmed with a very talented sewing partner. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead! Thanks for sharing your video, time and talent.
I have followed Sara on youtube for many years. She and Danny come across as being very honest people and they are a pleasure to watch. I have ordered cork from her before and it's beautiful. Nice interview.
I've made many of Sara's patterns and follow her religiously. Sunday nights are for watching Sara and sometimes Danny. This interview was like visiting a friend. Sara is sweet!! Yay Sara. Thank you Karen.
Great show! I have tried several bag maker patterns and now I want to check out Sara’s. Instructional RUclips videos are like having the designer by your side, and I really appreciate the effort that goes into making them. Thanks to both of you for assisting in my sewing journey!
Enjoyed your interview, as usual! I'd like to add that Sara is wonderful and quick to answer any questions that I have asked of her by email. Also, any orders for merchandise are always received quickly. Thanks, Karen!
Great interview! It's always good to meet other creators. I know of two bag makers who will be very glad to hear about her. Excellent resource to use and pass along. Thank you for this!
@@gayleandrews8836 You are going to love her! She has many free patterns and even they have videos to go with them. Her site also has fabric. Go check out the cork. Have fun.
Great Interview! I have been following Sara Lawson for a few years now and her instructional video's are super! Just the right speed and level of detail. The skills I have learned from her have made it possible for me to even create my own semi-custom bags by modifying or combining patterns. Her live shows are my Sunday night 'me time'.
What a great interview. Thanks, Karen. Love hearing about making bags... and quilts, and as a newby at both, not many scraps, so if you're so inclined, i'd love scraps. Thanks again.
Love Sara and her patterns. As a bag maker, her patterns are very well written and her videos are so helpful. And she has a great eye for fabric. Thanks for the interview.
Omg I am just obsessed with Sara’s bag patterns. I also do quilting and love your videos. I can’t believe you interviewed Sara Lawson. Two most amazing youtuber. You just made my day. ❤❤
What a wonderful interview Karen, I discovered Sara a few months ago and love her videos. She is a delight to watch and her bag making videos are so detailed and easy to follow. Thanks again, I look forward to all your interviews.
I love Sara's bags! This bag dude chose the Superbloom Tote for my first bag. I gave it to mom last year. I have a Chickadee backpack in my to-do list for this year; just need to buy the interfacing. I'm very excited to see her new pattern bundle! Keep the goods coming, Sara and Karen! 😁😁😁
I am so glad you interviewed Sara, I discovered her channel a few years back. I love bag making, and quilting, and garment construction... thank you! Maybe someday you could find a good garment sewist to interview! Love your channel!
Thank you for introducing me to Ms Sara. Went to her website straight away, bought a pattern, and watched many of her tutorials. I just started making bags this week, so this was a fortunate coincidence!
Today my problem with zippers is that there are not many choices in zippers to choose from, in my area of the country. Replacing a damaged zipper is sometimes impossible; because, there are so few choices. Getting the correct type, color, style and size is often not possible. I turn down all jobs for zipper replacements when the correct zipper is not provided by the customer. Needless to say, I don't get many jobs. Putting in a new (or used) zipper brings back bad memories of learning how to install a zipper. I had a very bad teacher when I was first learning how to sew. She gave me a fear of zippers, buttons, and buttons holes. Being taught the wrong method of installing a zipper may be the problem for many people. There are many videos on how to install zippers. I hang on to my "Threads" magazines for all the wonderful instructions and new methods they offer to their readers.

Karen thanks for the intro ! I love bags and while looking at her site I saw the Ansel camera bag as you mentioned needing a bag for your equipment 😀💖
Awesome interview; I'm kinda hooked on bags at the moment 🤭
Great video.

Sara has become my go to for patterns for bag making. She has a excellent teaching ability and she comes across very well. Enjoyed the interview.
I had to smile when she said her fabrics live on comic book cards in Billy shelfs. That's exactly how I store my quilting cottons and I love it 😍
