I dream BIG, but I need to set smaller realistic art goals to achieve those dreams. Organizing my life and new year resolutions for my art career has made me ready and excited to start 2023! I'll share how I use Notion to set 5 big art career goals and incorporate them as easy to do tasks throughout my weeks and months. Some of my art goals in 2023 are to make four paintings a month, visit a museum or gallery once a month, & take one online art course a week! We'll also go into detail of my art habits tracker page, weekly to-do lists, my creative journal, and my reflections and resolutions for my art career. I hope you get inspired to get organized and set art or personal goals for the new year too!

What are some of your new years resolutions? (if you want to share them)
Some personal ones of mine are to take more nature hikes with Mango and Brett, read 12 books this year, take consistent weekends off, and eat three good meals a day! 💖
We love seeing artists set goals with a plan to achieve them! We think selling one painting per quarter is a great idea, realistic but still challenging. There's nothing quite like the affirmation of someone committing to acquire and live with your art- getting paid is nice, but when you can say your work is in someone's collection, you're really on your way!

I’ve always was so lazy with organising Notion. Actually, not that I was lazy, but organising everything seemed so long and I thought instead of spending my time organising I can use that time to actually do something productive.
But now when I watched this video, I got that you just spend a couple pf hours organising, being creative, planning in Notion and then it’s so much more fun to reach your goals every day when your Notion is so inspiring and everything is nicely put together 🙌❤💓
I was the same way when I first found it tbh! But yes, I just put in a few hours work, along with using premade templates, and now it's something I use everyday!🥰

This is probably my favorite breakdown of Notion yet. I really appreciate how much you've broken down planning your to-do's and keeping your creative journal. I feel like I bounce between bullet journalling, keeping a board on my fridge, and trying to keep track on my phone with various apps, depending on the month. I think February is fixing up to be a return to bullet journalling for video planning.

I can't help but want anything ornate and made of metal or glass. My goal is to eventually keep all of my painting mediums in ornate, old, corked bottles.

my new years resulutions for 2023 Ashlegh are mostly art based in some form.
1. get better at working on my own website and giving it a nice polished look.
2. continue with my streak of creating 2 abstract paintings per month.
3. create and release my own two indie games this year possibly more if I find time.
4. finish off school and get my web design degree so I can focus more on my art goal tasks.
5. to finally move out to my first apartment.

I recently tried Notion and I quite like it, particularly for how easy it is to move things around.
I also like all the templates they have and the auto-fill options in certain templates. I still prefer a paper planner, but I'll be using notion to help track things such as art I've made, my expenses, books I've read, movies I've watched, etc. I also have all my goals planned out on Notion. I can definitely recommend the app. And of course I love that there's a desktop/laptop version that links to the mobile version.

I’m one of the few people who don’t like notion. I tried the free version and I found it very limiting for what I need and I don’t want another subscription (I prefer a one time purchase per year). So I will stick to pen and paper, even though I would prefer something digital.
But it’s interesting to hear other people’s goals😊

Happy New Year Ashleigh. I have seen another Artist who teachers more now than paints but they still put out a painting ever so often. They make a steady income of coaching artists. The numbers vary from person to person from say 4 major paintings a month like you plan on to 10 a week and a couple hundred drawings a week. Regardless of the numbers the purpose is the same. Putting the work in so you get better at what what you do. I also noticed you are planing work and not down time. For a lot of artists its the down time they need to work into thier lives. If this program Notion helps you stay organized i say go for it. I think for me something like that i would be putting more time into it than actually sketching or painting. When i plan out somehing i use a sketch book ( large one ) to write down or lay out ideas in. Gives a person more space and you are working in a sketch book so its a feeling of one step closer to a finished product. Good to see you back and organized .
Wow sweet sister Ashleigh thank you for introducing notion. I would definitely use it. My own written planner is all over the place, rough, torn and worn out. This traditional way of writting ideas down is still needful though, but I would love to use notion for a change and from the way you explained It, It Sound realistic and fun. By God's Grace, this year, I would like to Paint one canvas a month and in 3 months to make 3 huge canvasses and in a year 12 canvasses this is realistic and doable for me, as for selling, I would need your suggestion please, I ve sold only one of my miniature painting here in Spain. I’m so happy it was helpful! My planners get the same way. I find that I write my initial thoughts down in the planner because I think writing by hand is important too. Then I transfer them to Notion for better organization 😊 those are wonderful goals and I’m sure you can complete them this year! For selling paintings, offering them online, art and craft fairs, and to friends and family could help! I hope your year is filled with joy and fulfillment too 😊🫶🏼❤️

Hi Ashleigh in 2023 I want to become a well-known painter, and I also want to be able to sell prints of my paintings. I also started to discover my own style and work on it. I made several paintings of my own style.
I also want to make my parents proud of me
I want to make them happy

Thanks so much!! That's a valid point haha! I did keep some personal goals private, but I'm also a big believer in manifesting/speaking your goals and desires out loud. For me, it makes them seem real and attainable, even if they don't happen for a while.😊 But to each their own!
