      I doubt it. Rob brought the 4 rotor only tacked welded together to prove proof of concept, all people have to do is look at the history of the car and the time frame it was worked on before it got to SEMA. SEMA is for pure enthusiasts and they would respect the work and effort in the time allotted. No shame in his game.

    Just to give you heads up... wrapping over Primer isn't going to stick very well to your surfaces...don't say i didn't warn ya $0.02 =)

    • @brandonkohli6200
      @brandonkohli6200 6 лет назад +22

      Truth. I've unfortunately learned this from experience. The wrap needs a smooth surface (ideally clear coat) to adhere to.

    • @zachicusmaximus5551
      @zachicusmaximus5551 6 лет назад +2

      Yep. I repaired a spot on my trunk lid before wrapping, finished it with primer. It stuck notably worse to the primer. It is still firmly attached in that spot after 2 years though but I post heated everything, especially that spot.

    • @ardentminds8977
      @ardentminds8977 6 лет назад +4

      @InfinityGraphist agreed I've sanded down primer to wrap over and it sticks no problem. where i fucked up is i used cheap ass primer and when i unwrapped the vinyl a year later the vinyl took a shit ton of primer along with it lol

    • @Not_Hans
      @Not_Hans 6 лет назад +1

      Rob Dahms 4 rotor was wrapped over primer... and it’s still sticking to the car.

      @MichaelThompson77 6 лет назад +11

      Thats an awful big gap to fill in

    • @KeyArts
      @KeyArts 6 лет назад +18

      Blake, widebody doesnt cover the INSIDE of the car. That gap is where the factory inner wheel well is. you know how when you look up in there on a car and see the pinch weld where two panels meet? One comes from the inner skin, and the other is the outer skin. This car only has an outer skin now, so that metal that covers it, is gone. It'll more than likely get filled in, cause im sure chris doesnt want to climb in the trunk every night and dig out rocks.

    • @space.cowboy69
      @space.cowboy69 6 лет назад

      Mizino: In Over My Head. well the door that will be under the hatch will cover that. looking into the car you wont see it. I assume this car wont be driven much before sema so im certain that it’s a low priority to fix right now since it doesn’t hinder the car visually or performance wise.

    • @ModifyReality

    • @CSM.HBJ-Dogg

      I said the same thing but i thinl thats where the wide bod kit covers

    • @KeyArts
      @KeyArts 6 лет назад

      How would it cover the inside...?
      But no, pretty much every car has a gap to the outside like that. Sometimes there are panels that just get screwed in to cover that. And the inner wheel well metal covers that from factory, connects the inner and outer skin and seals it, but since it was all cut out there is nothing there.

    • @jimmysando99
      @jimmysando99 6 лет назад +7

    Now the wrap is a good idea but i do vehicle wraps for a living and sometimes it pulls the paint off. Now thats not the problem the problem is when we get the panel repainted you general have to wait a few days to allow the paint and or primer to full cure and gas out or it will cause a ton of bubbles in the wrap. Just a heads up. To help figure a time frame to wrap it.

Not to speak ill of your paint/body work, you definitely do some great work when you really apply yourself. But great work takes a lot of time, which you obviously don't have. So vinyl wrapping is definitely the right way to go for now.

    2 suggestions. 1 - you might want to tie the two rear strut towers together or better yet, into the roll bar. There's not much support for the forces pushing the top of the strut towards the center of the car. Second, you'll want dynamat or something on the big sheet panels of the floor, you're sitting inside a big calypso drum. Otherwise the car is going to drone alot.

    Maybe some sound insulation would be a good idea... Those metal panels will resonate sound really well even if they are covered in carpet.

    Hey Chris! Just an idea, but wouldn't it be better to have your fuel cell right behind your seats, behind the wall that you want to build. And just build a filler neck for easier fill-ups. This way you would have a whole trunck for some other stuff, like a suitcase))

    If your spray the inside of your panels with the truck bed liner you will have some added protection on the inside on it
