There is something about the history and culture of this sport that makes it just so uniquely amazing and inspiring, and this documentary did an awesome job of capturing that. Good stuff!
"all eight guys swing, and they drive a hole in one, and they do this forty times a minute, a hole in one, all eight guys, ok, that's how difficult rowing in it's truest form is" - gold !
Great film! Thank you Jabo for a lasting, sustained, and cherished memory I've had from a 1990 Head of the Charles 3rd place finish men's 4 coxing a bow loaded cox shell as a freshman I now have a BA in history '96. I grew up in Madison Wisconsin in Randy's Vilas Dugeon Monroe neighborhood. I also did Mendota Rowing Club while attending Madison West High School I was coached by Jim "Earl" Anderson there another Badger rower. Running stadium stairs when it was -40 below listening to Jabo's polka music made a MAN outta me!!! 😎🫵🏼 I was already Wisconsin tough Jabo made me tenacious and a bit smarter being around such a high IQ sport! Jabo is a fantastic coach and a wonderful male role model happy holidays 2024 and best wishes now in Buckeye Arizona via Denver, Seattle, and Chicago my experience at the U of Wisconsin changed my life for the better. 💘🦡🛶
