TY Jason your videos are always very informative, but there are some captures on tonenet described as just amp, it supposed to be kind of DI following that description, but instead it's a capture with the cab built in you cannot see a cab in the cab icon or inspired in a cab, but u can listen there it is a cab in the capture. Your tones are pretty good, u identify them by DI, and they show as just amp in tonex, but not everyone are doing the great job u do in all your collections.
Ah yes, I see what you are saying. That would be a creator making an error and baking the cab into an amp only cab which then makes it impossible to remove the cab. Nothing can really be done about that other than avoid those if at all possible. Thanks for the comment :-)
Thee '74 1959 Super Lead by gun9undo is a Tone Model that I have not been able to find a rival for...
I could play all day long on this Tone Model and still not get tired of it!

3rd Tonex month with out being able to get the software to work...lol...
The only preset I have been able to get to work with effects is the 59 super lead.
But then I get this echo effect. I turn off Direct Monitoring but then I hear nothing at all...
The Software Implementation is so 20 years ago Backwards and Primitive as to be a Laughable.
Tell them to use HX Stomp Software as a Model for them to follow.
But in all honesty, I only use Tonex for Profile playback. (like I have a choice! lol)
Tonex is in the HX Stomp FX loop.
This makes me very happy.
The Stomp effects make the Tonex effects sound kinda lightweight anyways...

II'd like to use my Tonex One into a power amp and I just turn off the cab block on all my amp-cab captures. Question is, should I purchase DI captures instead? Do DI captures offer a big tonal difference for my use case?
Thank you :-) It really depends some people swear by DI captures while other folks don't seem to care that much. The idea is that a DI capture will be a more accurate representation of just the amp compared to using an amp/cab capture and relying on the software to "guess" at the cab portion. I would say that if you are using it in the way you are and getting the results you want, I wouldn't change a thing and I would say that it is a perfectly fine way to work :-) Hope that helps somewhat!
Useful information thanks- but this software is really not user friendly. There is so much idiosyncratic detail to know such as captures being described as "tone models" which muddys the distinction between modelling and capturing. Tone models inheriting settings from Presets, dragging and dropping that is really hard to do in a controlled way, the list goes on and on. So many things could be made simpler without harming the many good points of the software and the pedals. I'm really enjoying the pedal so this is not meant to be a moaning session rather a plea to work on the software a bit.
I agree. They really need to up their game on the finer UI/UX points. But, the overall structure is pretty good.
The UI design has been terrible from the first release and continues to be so.
Got my Tonex but send it back after a few weeks. I did not liked it at all. I see and hear great tones and JS videos were very helpfull but I was very disapponted. I did not like the way the software and hardware worked together. I had it in a send and return connected to my Helix and got to much latency. Helix is plug and play but the Tonex is, in my opinion, not.

Nice explanations. Its a shame that the software is still so (terrible,) confusing, and non-intuitive that these vids are needed. Come on IK - its time to provide a proper app / editor that is easy to use, intuitive, and modern looking.
