When my son didn’t get home in time, or answer my texts, I’d hit the ceiling. We had an argument about it, and he reminded me that I knew him and his friends, and that they weren’t going to get into trouble. I knew he and his friends were exceptionally good kids - straight As, respectful, good kids. But what about all the total maniacs out there! Drunk drivers, violent people, etc. Yes, I’ve always trusted my kids. I just don’t trust everyone else.

Yeah, I’m a parent of little ones now and part of me wants to use this but without parent location sent back I’m not sure I’m down. I think I’ll just keep them off tracking platforms and try to give them space in return for some trust later in life. The worlds always been scary so, hopefully, I’ll teach them well enough to avoid dangerous situations and come home a little late to challenge me once they grow. Scary stuff for a parent but good for their growth… I’ll also keep track how out of line they were so when they have to care for me later I’ll brown the bed in accordance

When I was as young as 10 back in the 60s, I lived on the opposite side of my school from the other kids and on Saturdays I would go up to their houses and then we would go just as far away from there so I was miles from home all day. And I walked the whole time. When I would come home, my mother would just ask if I had a good time. She didn’t go assuming that every bad thing in the world that could happen was going to happen to me. I don’t know if that had anything to do with the fact that when I was a teen, I didn’t push the deadlines. But I don’t remember thinking that I had to get home too early. But I know it’s not the same now.

My mom tried to do this for me. It would've been fine, but she's controlling and doesn't let me go out in the first place. I was barely allowed to go to school events outside of school hours. Now I'm months away from being 18 and the only place I go to is my job and she still tries to get me to download the life360 app as if I'm going anywhere else! I also don't have my own car, so it's not like I can suddenly disappear in the night or that I have friends to disappear with.

Not coming home on time meant one of two things. Mom locked us out and we were sleeping outside unless someone's parent would let us stay over, No lie , actually slept in and abandoned apartment that still had electricity so we could have heat since it was 20° outside. Or the other thing it meant was that it was ass whooping time and that would mean she had a few drinks in her so she had that strength of a damn lion LOL. Let my little sister come in late and you would think somebody had kidnapped the queen. That girl never got in trouble. I was the oldest so even if it had nothing to do with me it was my fault. Those of you with younger siblings knows how that goes. You could be in another state and if your little sibling did something wrong it was still your fault. But we are not sissies so I guess there is lessons to be learned 😂😂😂😂
