I love mine too - I use it in 10m FM repeaters, and SSB on 10m - It performs so much better than expected. The performance is outstanding for the price. It's not what people expect because of how it looks. The noise reduction is awesome. FYI - it covers 12m also. If you want a frequency display, get yourself the AT-5555Nii. Same manufacturer and same tech inside. Another great radio. 73
And you mentioned "spectral purity" - these are very CLEAN radios. I have had mine on a scope and a spec-an. Comparing these to a Baofeng, or even other older 11m export radios is the an unfair reference IMO. - You should use an IC-7300 for a closer comparison! SDR is here to stay ;)
Great review! You have changed my opinion of this rig. After watching a different review, I thought no way would I want something like that. Now I might have to get one. I like hearing you mention all the old CB equipment. I've been on CB since 1968 so am familiar with all of it.
I am a huge fan of radioddity. Never had an issue with anything and if i did have a slight issue it was corrected in a firmware update. Good customer service, great stuff! Thanks for the video! Keep up the good work! Ko4uhp 73!
I want one of these and a KL703 in the mobile to use on 10 meters! I saw somewhere that this radio will work on 12 meters also (you might have mentioned that). 73 and thanks for the review!
Eric…..As you said if you move the jumper to the other position you will get 40 CB on band D. My question is on the other band positions can you still get a portion of the 10 meter along with 11 meters on band D? In a sense a 10 meter & 11 meter in “One Box” radio. A very simple explanation of how to get frequencies on the different bands. You can make a newcomer a pro. Keep it up Eric!….Mark
Before I got my license, I bought a Stryker SR 995HP AM, FM, USB/LSB 25-30MHZ mine does 80watts little did I know that the next month I would test out as a general, so mine is on 27.2550 99% of the time. I have bought several things Radioddity like the CS 47 for my truck 15 watts AM 20 watts FM plus a bunch of 10 meters.
I believe Uniden added a small frequency counter to the channel selector indicator. There's room in this box to have a flip up or slide out/pop up frequency counter. I'd just get a separate wired or wireless frequency counter, as I would be using my own mics.
I have the SuperStar 3900 (2023) version. It's an amazing working radio, bang on frequency and the stock mic sounds great too, so no need to get a power mic.
I have been talking with radioddity trying to get engineering mode software access so as to wideband "wx" mode so as we can get some weather reports here in australia on commercial radio stations as there is nolonger dedecated weather channels here...
I was unable to find a new spare, Original mic for my Radioddity QT-40 anywhere on the internet so I emailed the company and they ordered me one from the factory. Took about three weeks to get it, but, it is an original. So if they aren't available online then contact customer service and ask them to order you one.
Thailand, Indonesia, Oz & UAE has been on 11m the past 2 days, I made a few great contacts but went to 10m and it was dead. I've NOT even heard Todd on 425 this year yet!
The only thing I think they should have done is put in a small OLED frequency readout inside the window. Other than that the radio looks great. Of course you could buy one of those kits and install it in aftermarket
Why? Because there are more QRP operators on 11 meters then all the ham bands combined. There are plenty of QRO ops as well. You will never hear any ham band utilized, as well as the 11 meter band, not even close. No one has to tell them to get on the air. No one says the band is open and no one is calling CQ. 11 meters ops never talk about “use it or lose it.”
No not a good idea using in Mobil it should had a LED freq read out like export 10/11m radios so you Can see where your at on 28.mhz. Thanks for video cause people want you know Love my Lincoln plus II also.
Holding the up & down mic buttons will display your frequency two digits at a time. Each channel is 500 kHz so it actually easy to tune for a signal. The clarifier will sweep you anywhere between channels. You get used to it fast and its totally retro.
Great review. That other HAM that reviewed it a few months back did a horrendous review! You explained it perfectly.
I saw that video too. A sad negative guy..

Lovely work : so positive. I saw the OTHER guy's video too. Sad man.. Stay positive and nice, that's why people like your videos From Down Under.
Just found your station and love it. Thank you for all of the info and the time you take to share it.

I really enjoy your videos.

Cool video I loved it keep them comeimg
i like the chrome look, I do most of my driving at night and I don't want more and more bright screens in my truck.

totally concure and it is so affordable ❤ from Canterbury U.K
It's something different .
Once you get use to it set it still for your operation frew.
Probly better inhouse as. Base

Great explanation of this radio thank you.
I do have a question though.
Can this be a 10 and 11 m radio?
Or a 10 or 11 m radio?
Do you have a frequency chart for AFTER the mods are done? Or do you know WHERE I can obtain one? TIA
Is the Q60 the digital version? With all same options, just new digital face , like what you said you wished they would come out with. lol.
So it's a mono-het SOC? The Uni D858 PLL was the best ever made for 10/11 "CBs".

Same as The AnyTone ARES II radio
Hmmm. So the fin /clarifier is unlocked?? Meaning it also transmits amd listens at the same freq??
could maybe put the FQ readout on the mic or have a button on the mic to change between FQ and channel readout.
Where's part 2? I can't locate it.
Thailand, Indonesia, Oz & UAE has been on 11m the past 2 days, I made a few great contacts but went to 10m and it was dead. I've NOT even heard Todd on 425 this year yet!
Omg TODD!!!! WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR BEACON TODD?!!?!?!
@@HamRadioConceptsHe smoked it!

Radioddity qt40 is identical to the anytone aresii or maybe visa-versa
I hope you and yours are safe!
If I had 2 of these in a suburban/tree environment, would it talk 4 miles away on 11?
Yes... And lately I've been talking to Australia and new Zealand on it while mobile
With the right antenna
great vedio
The clarifier only works on SSB, NOT AM!
38LSB is jamming with DX right now. I am in Jacksonville, Florida. 28.410 is dead as usual. I don't understand it.
Neither do I, look at my video uploads today
HELLO ty for video
Thank you for watching, 73
you known the way around this radio . please give me my HR2510 . cos i aint as smart as you.
❤ from Canterbury U.K 26 EY 109 great input
because there is a lot more people on cb than on ten meters believe it or not
What a convoluted menu system. But it's expected from a radio that's really geared for CB.. LOL
Thanks! RWB ❤ 73
Try 27.555 MHz USB lots of DX in the free band area.
Mental in the U.K. and Europe every day.
still true today ❤ and respect from Canterbury U.K 26 EY 109....73's
All Europe, Australia

I'd rather have a President Lincoln II Plus
Don't waste your money on buying the new president radios
Never had a problem with mine. It's even better with the new Digimike 👍
You're talking $199 vs $320, $370 after you get the Digimike. Fact is the Ares II/QT40 is a very impressive radio in the $200 range.
No not a good idea
using in Mobil it should had
a LED freq read out like
export 10/11m radios so you
Can see where your at on 28.mhz.
Thanks for video cause people want you know
Love my Lincoln plus II also.
Now you tell me . . . Thanks anyway
T/C/E
☹☹☹☹Why wood I buy a10 meter radio with no freq. meter????🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

That radio does not have a frequency counter not worth buying just saying
