  • Mighti Jamie and the EFF’s Ntokozo Hlonyana join this week’s show to discuss the EFF’s 10-year anniversary. What are the party’s plans for the country, should they be successful in the next election? Plus their stance on EWC, nationalisation and more.
NB: Unfortunately the internet went down for a few minutes during the show, and some of the discussion was not recorded - apologies for the frustration!

Expropriation without compensation will be an economiv disaster. Every private farmer, miner, housebuilder etc. Any industry that requires land will be decimated and likely refuse to do business in ZA and relocate if they have the means.
No farmer is going to manage a highly complex farm that requires long work hours and expensive inputs to have it all taken from them. Be them black or white. You then do not have farmers making a surplus upon which everyone that isn't a farmer depends upon. Eating isn't optional.
Why does the left constantly attack farmers. From "Liquidating the Kulaks" in Russia, to destroying farm equipment in Mao's China, to Zimbabwe kicking off the white farmers... who relocated to Namibia (I think I may have the country wrong) and now export their food to the failing Zimbabwe.
Every urbanised or "advanced" country requires productive farmers. Eating isn't optional.

In my view land expropriation without compensation means that the all land is transferred to the state then the state will destribute it appropriately and equitably for the purposes of building residences, farming, industrialization, schooling, sports etc. The way this is done is through the state being the custodian of the land. No persons property(house, farm, business) will be taken away from anyone except that the state is at the center of what should happen on the land.

    • @IDKY313
      @IDKY313 Год назад +1

These are some reasons why it will never work.
      1. Socialism sounds too good. It’s almost impossible to argue against free education, free healthcare, free entertainment, equality and respect. Specially when these speeches are targeted to the low, tradionally opressed (and sadly, mostly uneducated) masses. This trait is far too dangerous, for people can too easily feel they are on “the right side of history”. Their conviction will drive them to great lenghts
      2. We are not born equal and thats the hard truth. Some people are brighter, some are not. Some are richer and some are poorer. Forcibly trying to close these gaps leads very quickly to resentment. Hate grows too easily, and social classes are inmediately confronted. Socialism, by the way, feeds on this conflict to sustain it’s rhetoric. The need of an enemy.
3.Socialism is, in reality, State-Capitalism. There is one great evil to any economy: monopoly. And one great saviour: free-market competition. Socialist Regimes claim that by gradually seizing part (or all) the means of production from the private sectors, they will guarantee access to all. Yet, all they do is increase their power and establish a Monopoly where only the State produces goods. The State becomes both a player and a referee. This can too easily lead to corruption, abuse and incompetence.
      4. People do not see beyond their own noses. “Low prices, high salaries, beautiful speeches…what’s not to like? Let us ignore those experts predicting the failure of our state, and advocating for free market. They are likely financed by Capitalist Elite trying to destroy us, anyways.” Certainly, the masses only see what’s in front of them: cheap prices and a charismatic leader so thr votes just keep rolling in

I would be completely useless at it and so would over 90% of the country's population. I'd rather generate capital that is compatible with my skillset. I was watching an interview with Julius who disagreed with the capitalist notion that people are generally selfish. Even if I grant him that MOST people are not selfish, it takes only a handful of selfish people at the top to ruin everything for everyone. This is the mistake that communist countries make over and over.

Look, I found value in terms of at the very least understanding more or less what the EFF is about. The youth deserves a future. Many young people look up to the EFF. Also, having said that, I don't get the feeling of "it is not about us, it is about being in service of others". Capitalism is not perfect but socialist economies governments control production, distribution and prices. There are two types of socialism (democratic and communism), if the EFF have Marxist-Leninist intentions then you are look at communism. Period. Like I said, capitalism is not perfect but it is by far the better. You want to fix SA? Then right now, given the priorities of the EFF according to this interview/discussion is not suited. That is my opinion, that is my right, that is the beauty of 'freedom of speech' you have the right to disagree (or agree) but if the past serves as a predicate then I will receive hate. To my haters, take note, you have the right to disagree... in terms of discrimination, slander, hate-speech you have no right.

True that hey, I was really disappointed in her, the brother even tried to help out coz he saw how they were dragging and trying to embarrass her. I guess this serves as a clear example why Juju is always emphasizing on the importance of having, learned and well trained public representatives. Coz it's easy to mesmerize the masses in confusion if there is no clear articulation of the relevant policies that the EFF holds.

Isn't it funny how the people who know the least about Socialism want to know the least about Socialism...
    1. Let's talk private property
Private property should be defined with in the context of Marx, Engel and Orwell.
    2. Expropriation of Land
Is called abolition of Private property.
    3. Nationalization of Banks: speaks to the Nationalization of the reserve Bank and Changing its mandate from its current position to a pro Worker mandate.
    1. Private property includes all members of state are the State because they make up the state.
The State made of the People democratically and government who interests are its citizens above Capital.
    Let's state it categorically clear:
That as is the state is aligned to Capital and not its people because if owe the bank they can put you out of your house...
How many people have been Chucked out of the daily? I don't see that in RDP housing...?
So to address the exploitation of our state property, being its people resources and wealth... How do we insure this by the abolition of Private property meaning we renegotiate our position... The land which Capital will be on will be charged appropriately... So we define clearly who is Capital:
State citizens are funded buy state... Like Toyota etc...
So we fund state projects... Car manufacturing, inter state property trading meaning we allow the State to enter into free market with itself...
    Building African Economy...
    2. Expropriation of Land is the Abolition of private property:
2.1 So like now all state resources will be equality distributed: meaning the rural areas are will be funded to start funding African products to export...
2.2 Farms which have made millions have made it on the backs of black people... And even today they still live like slaves... Their chlild of a Farm worker has no dignity even when their parents made million of them....
Expropriation of Land in this case addresses 2.2 1. Exploitation of the of state private property by Capital (so human resources are state property).
So the state makes sure that No state property can be exploited by Capital in their own land
2.2.2 the state would determine lease contracts and wage of the farm workers. So where capital no longer wants to do business the state can make sure that there are no mass retrenchments.
I could go in and on....
call me on your show to properly explain Socialism

The problem is that you think if something is owned by the state it is automatically yours which is untrue. Malema's govt can own banks and mines but you will remain poor. Do proper research about this nonsense called communism.
