    Great review. It started off so promising, a plastic point & shoot and a roll of film for $20. It quickly fell off a cliff. Not OCG approved. Great job Dave.

    Interesting!
    The badly aged film in the camera is a terrible start on a photo adventure!
    The part that would worry me the most would be when the camera starts to fail because of the cheap plastic and when the winding wheel dies your photowalk is over!

    That Walmart roll looks like it was stored in somebody's glove compartment over the past several years. I'm not a Walmart shopper so this wouldn't even be on my radar, but great review.

    It sucks 😂😂😂
    Hilarious start to the video. Someone at Walmart must have found a shipping container full of 40 year old film in Death Valley.
    Fuji 400 is one of my favourite films and you managed to get some decent shots despite the limitations of the camera.

    Best intro ever 😂 Well, I definitely won't be buying that camera as my intro to film photography. But to be fair the images you got with the Fuji Film weren't that bad at all, love the vignetting. I really liked the freight car image! Great stuff as always Dave! Have a great week!

    😂 Best review opener I've seen in a long time. I didn't know the thing existed. Have to admit your fuji roll turned out quite nice considering the camera. I was expecting nofi quality from the lens.

    You pretty much nailed it! Apart from the really bad decision to include a roll of really messed up Kodak Vision 250D that has had the remjet removed, this camera isn’t as good as the cheapest single-use camera. Whoever in China that produced this Andrew Jackson horror
    should be made to lick the remjet off a 1000 ft roll of Vision 3 film. Oh, maybe they did already.

    I’ve had 2 Holga BC in the last 2 years. Both ended up not advancing film and making grinding sounds. Unfortunately both were beyond returnable times. Have bought $$ from B H and been happy, but would not help here saying they were plastic.
    Love your videos.

  • @aengusmacnaughton1375
    @aengusmacnaughton1375 5 месяцев назад +1

    Looks like for $20 for a plastic point & shoot (forget the film) -- at least it works, given your cautions. So if looking for lower-fidelity results, but recognizable images, it's an inexpensive option....

  • @photography_jsk
    @photography_jsk 5 месяцев назад +1

    The results from the included roll seemed to range from images that are barely visible (you, FPP) to visible images with a color cast that made it look like expired film (me, The Darkroom, others). Either way, it's going to be really discouraging for people who have never used film before and don't watch videos like yours. Not sure why WM would saddle the camera with ruined film like that.

    • @theoldcameraguy
      @theoldcameraguy  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, I would feel bad for a first timer that got these kind of results and got discouraged from shooting film.

  • @nicksucio

    not yaya on the camera, but maybe yay for Walmart lowkey trying to make a 35mm film? haha i suppose just kidding because the film didn't seem to be all that jazzy
    the fuji-film definitely made a difference ! Seemed kind of decent with loaded with decent film

    FPP recommends also for the cheap Kodak camera the 24 expores film roll in its Don't open the camera video. It not its official title but it is the way I remember it: ruclips.net/video/957tTWXLRk4/видео.htmlsi=E-5pvhj62M_Bt2bK

      @@theoldcameraguy So I just finished watching the video and its great. I haven't been able to find a video where someone took pictures with proper film on this camera. Also, maybe I was just lucky, but the photos I took with the built in roll were much better than that hunk of junk in the video. Now don't get me wrong, it still was very underexposed, even in daylight, but not THAT underexposed.
