draw with me as i ramble about some hopefully helpful advice regarding how to keep a sketchbook, how to keep it a consistent habit, why it's important to have one as a visual artist, and how you can relieve some of the pressure away from facing the infamous blank page.

The new intro is so cute!
I've been extremely stagnant with traditional art but I have so many supplies stored for it. Seeing your art has definitely inspired me to try again. For now though, I'm just resting in bed with the flu, so I will have to do that when I feel better

That intro animation is so cute!! This was super relaxing to watch after a rough night and these tips were super helpful too, definitely worth the wait! I have approximately three shelves worth of completed sketchbooks over the course of what seems like my entire life, but that all came to a grinding halt once I got an iPad and Apple Pencil LOL I've been stuck on the same sketchbook that I started back in 2018 which is absolutely unheard of for me and I have anxiety about my default pencil drawings looking too plain and boring compared to more colorful/"aesthetically messy" sketchbook tours I see online, and I mostly use it to scrapbook drawings I like from other sketchbooks so I can still fill pages with nice [citation needed]-looking art without having actually draw, but your points you brought up here might help too~ Recently I've come to realize that most of my sketchbook filling has been done out of necessity and I was basically a digital artist using traditional art supplies because they were more accessible to me (a very parge portion of my sketchbook drawings would be scanned to be finished on my computer so that tells me a lot about what my priorities were as an artist and how I used the mediums available to me) and once I finally got a portable screen drawing device rather than having to be confined to my desk with my entry-level Wacom whenever I wanted to make digital art, it was basically everything I ever could have asked for at the time. I really do believe I've grown as an artist since then but I feel really bad for my poor little sketchbook that's essentially been left on life support for the past three years, so I do want to finish it and have that be my swan song so I can enjoy drawing digitally without being haunted by my neglected sketchbook ahaha
aaa thank you so much elle!!🫶;w; it's simple n kinda rough bc i'm basically a novice when it comes to animating again but i wanted to make sure it was still good enough. i'm so glad it's receiving good feedback!💕 i'm really happy you enjoyed it, i'm glad it was worth the wait haha, hopefully i can balance my time better in the future tho !
yeah it sounds to me too like you were always meant to be a digital artist!! have you ever looked into keeping digital sketchbooks? maybe that would be helpful for you so you still can get the regular practice you need (not always finished pieces i mean) in the medium you're most comfortable in!
omg i would LOVE to see all your sketchbooks tho.😻 yeah it can be really intimidating to see other people's seemingly perfect "aesthetically messy" (that's a perfect way to put it) almost curated sketchbooks online. that hits my confidence a lot too. but it comes back to fostering that love for yourself and your art and all you can make so that you can build confidence enough to not be as affected by others' works! (i'm actively working on this too LOL;;)
i love the way you scan your sketches and color them digitally, i think that's so creative!! and i hope you can find the motivation to complete that last paper sketchbook you have! who knows, you might surprise yourself with how much you might enjoy it!✨

Let's both keep striving to max out our time management levels!! ᕙ(`▽´)ᕗ You mean like making a set amount of digital pages in a single app folder? I haven't considered that but I might test that out to see how I like it! And dude I would l O V E to share all of my old sketchbooks with you too!!! Like for real riffing on my old art/stories was one of my FAVORITE pasttimes with my friends and I'm always kind of lowkey looking for more excuses to keep doing it, it's so much funnn (some of this old art is very weird but i trust you lol and i would try to curate things accordingly so it's not TOO cringe!) Thank you so much for the encouragement!

Amazing video as always! Honestly a lot of theses tips are actually pretty helpful and I feel like a lot of the points you made could probably be why i haven’t finished a sketch book in the last 4 years. Seriously, the current sketchbook I work in is the one I had since my junior year of high school. 😂

I love her a lot, her design is so cuuute, I love her backstory too!! 💖💖💖 Loved the video, watched it while sketching on my own X)) You are so right, feeling the pressure to draw what people would want is really restricting, sometimes, I just want to draw whatever comes up to me, even if it has bad anatomy or whatev, just for the fun of it, I feel like other artist should draw whatever they want sometimes, to keep the strees out, because art is in it's core, just for fun! :D

May I ask what type of pencil did you use for the sketching part? I see they are all different colors as well! Also you have a lovely art style ❤
aw thank you !! ; ;💕 the red sketching was done by the red Pilot Color Eno mechanical pencil in size 0.7mm, and the blue sketching was done by the Prismacolor Col-Erase pencil in the color 20044 - Blue
