Mary Lou Lord on vocals and Elliott Smith on guitar did a cover of the Ween song "Birthday Boy". I personally like both versions a lot and can appreciate them for very different reasons.
This version of Birthday Boy was released on the compilation cd, "Jabberjaw: Pure Sweet Hell" in 1996. Jabberjaw was a music venue in L.A. which showcased underground rock music and was open to all ages.
I can't believe that Elliott would cover Ween. My two worlds are colliding, and I couldn't be happier with how this sounds.
That's awesome! Happy two of your worlds collided. I know I'm always so pleasantly surprised when two things I care about unexpectedly come together.
I just found this.. wow..I'll have to look into then.. WEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@@devil_pls Sure. I'm glad you like it. I miss him too and I think there isn't enough stuff out there about him. Have you seen the documentary about him?
@@rebellious-jukebox-on-film238 You mean the one called "Heaven Adores You"? Yes i have seen that one. I liked it. But you are right aside from that one i haven't really found any big documentarys that are about him.
@@devil_pls yeah that one. It was good, but absolutely, more should be made
My brain just exploded. My two favorite artists, Elliott and Ween. Ok Ween is two artists. My three favorite artists.

@@tommylawrence3095 ya for sure
@@hombreguerro4767 Do you f****** hear drums?
Have you ever listened to Baby Bitch? How does that fit in? It sounds like a sarcastic distillation of Elliot Smith’s eventual style
Wish Elliott was singing too
Yeah, me too!
man i get drunk and every now and again this video pops up on my feed, i forget he isn't singing and I get so disappointed although the lady singing does a fantastic job
I can hear it in my head and that’s all that matters
I don't know if it's the camera model, but some of that footage looks and feels so 80s/90s. Makes me nostalgic for the past.
Probably because it is from the 90s lol
Today is my birthday and he performed the day after my birthday and MY NAME IS AARON gotta play this every year now
