    I loved your Gskyer 130EQ videos. I ordered one from Facebook Marketplace and was $158.00 with shipping. Its brand new and I love being able to put together so easy. Havent really used it yet but did some viewing just to do a minor check of mirrors and they look great. Have collimation tool arriving today. Will do balance, polar align and collimation then. Very happy with purchase and all. All screws were tight. Bands around scope were tight. Also, it seems a little shaky but not too bad. My normal scope is the Celestron CPC-1100 but I just wanted this for the price! My best and thanks. Chuck. Waco, Texas.

      Any problem with receiving from the seller? Because… I saw this post and immediately went to marketplace and found it. Bought it. Today! Cheap! Yep! $158

      @@TheBoricuaGamer that is normal for many telescopes. If you need the image right side up (which is really only useful for terrestrial viewing) then you need an errect image prism.

    You post a link recommending the Orion Observer based on what experience? I didn't see you do a review on that model.

    The Astromaster 130 has a spherical mirror, the AWB (Skywatcher Heritage) 130 has a parabolic mirror but what does the Gskyer 130 have? One review says parabolic mirror, and another says spherical.

    I just got this for my wife for her bday. The issues you brought up with the mount appear to be *mostly* fixed one year later (or perhaps we got lucky). When we tighten the mount, it is quite difficult to move the telescope, definitely takes more than a pinky. Might be they took the feedback and made improvements

    I will be buying this telescope thanks to these reviews. Thank you for these videos, it certainly has helped a lot, to help me decide with what I wanted to get next. I have had 3 main telescopes over the years, and I will be selling all of them, to make room for this one.

    You recommended the Orion 130mm Observer Telescope. In comparison is the ESSENWI 114EQ Reflector Telescope for Adult 900mm better telescope?

    A telescope is a delicate instrument. You handle this scope poorly. This goes way back to your unboxing video and assembly video of this scope. You twist and turn that poor EQ mount before unloosening the lock knobs. It's no wonder it has so much play in movement in this video. For this reason, one can not accurately accept your interpretation of the EQ mount. The search goes on for an accurate review.

    • @AllanHall
      @AllanHall  2 года назад +2

      Sorry it did not work for you. There is a reason I do what I do, it is so you don't have to. If the telescope turns with the locks engaged, it is not my problem for improper handling, it is the telescope's fault. There is a reason they are called locks, and if they don't lock, well, then the manufacturer needs to fix it!
      Good luck in your search!

      Would say I handled it very carefully - however had same issues with mount/locks. However, have found it somewhat useful. Even when Locked - can move it to new location, and it stays fairly stable.

    Have you come up with any “tricks” to stiffen the mount?

    • @AllanHall
      @AllanHall  2 года назад +2

      I did find one trick. I removed the knobs that tighten the mount all the way out and found that mine had caps on the end. I removed those caps and it works a little better. At least I don't have to get out a pair of pliers to tighten things up anymore but I still don't like the mount. That's disappointing as the scope isn't bad.
