I’m childless, but I wanted to share a conversation I had with my best friend prior to her having her second child. She had the exact same sentiments about her ability to love her second child as much as her first. She described it as she felt she had a set amount of love to give, and she wasn’t sure how it could be shared between two children. However, once her little boy arrived she explained to me how she felt her capacity to love actually expanded, and the amount of love she had to give wasn’t in fact limited, it grew. I thought that was such a beautiful way to express it and wanted to share her experience with you 🥰

Jessica, I love NEVER comment on videos, but I felt compelled to respond to your heartfelt concern. I too went through the same emotions right before I had my little guy. I remember crying to my mom, and she gave me great advice that I didn’t believe then, but looking back, I totally get it. She said, “Your love doesn’t divide; it just multiplies”…and mom was so right!

Oh mama! I almost cried when you were crying. I remember feeling the same way- "how can I love another child as much as this one?". And it was true what everyone says, love just gets bigger! We loved our 2 so much we decided to adopt a little boy from China. I thought if I can love this much I know I can love more children who need families. And though adoption comes with it's own challenges, we love him so much and he is every bit ours! Then a year after we adopted, surprise, we accidentally got pregnant with twins! We now have 5 kids! and they hold every part of my heart. Buckle up because your heart is about to expand!!

I had those exact same thoughts with my second child! now that I"m on the third, I can tell you this - just trust yourself and the growth process. I never thought I could love any other child as much as my first - she was my world. Now, I have love for all three. They are all unique loves but just as great and large for each child.
The day I had my second son, my mom came back to the hospital to visit. I confided to her that I didn’t feel the same way about the new baby as I do about my first. She reminded me that it had only been 10 hours since he was born and to give it a few days. She was right of course. That overwhelming sense of love came very quickly. My two boys are 17 months apart. They are now 42 and 40. Hope you are feeling well.
Jessica we use Nellies laundry powder from Costco on line and wool balls in the dryer. Cleared up my husband’s eczema!! Also I’m a NICU nurse and sometimes need to do laundry for families. It’s great for the Preemie baby skin!!
My baby will be 46 in about 3 weeks and I still remember the emotions. She was my third. You guys are fantastic parents!

I had those same exact feelings and worries when I was pregnant with my second daughter. I just couldn’t imagine loving another baby as much as I loved my first. You will love them both so much. If you get a survey from Ulta, take it. I too always had broken makeup when I ordered online. I took a survey and told them the issue. They now send in better packaging similar to the Ipsy rather than a box with too much space that allows the makeup to move around and shatter.

Girl, I know exactly how you're feeling about loving your first born so much, how is it possible to love that much more when your second child arrives. It has been just the 3 of you for 3 years. My sons are 23 months apart, and I was so content with just the three of us. It just works.....it becomes normal in a while. You then think, why was I so nervous and scared and excited all at the same time? You get into a routine, trust me. You've totally got this. This baby is coming for a reason. My son's are 23 and 21 now, and they're best friends 🤍

I’ve chosen to not have kids myself, but I love helping out and being supportive with all the moms in my life. I have one family member who had her first baby a few years ago after many years of infertility. I helped out for a few weeks and flew back home. I was so overwhelmed with the love I felt for the baby I couldn’t believe how strong that felt. I can’t imagine how it would feel for your own child. Much love to your family from everybody’s Aunt :).

The feelings of change, and love multiplying is so true. I felt the exact same way, and just had my second in January. Two months in, and it has been everything and more. All the best during those first few months - it’s a challenge worthwhile!
I remember feeling exactly as you described… how could I love my second child as much as I did/do love my first. But you do! Somehow your heart grows and grows just like the Grinch. It’s been 40+ years for me, and now my love has grown to hold 6 grandchildren too. Blessings!
Listening to that sweet girl of yours makes my heart nearly burst! Our girls are many years past that age but the memories are the best.
When it comes to loving them, I was given some "lov-ice" (loving insight/advice) when our youngest was born. 2 girls in 2 years & 2 weeks, I was so afraid I wouldn't have the capacity to love the second the same as the first.
This special person looked at me while I blubbered (because this non-crier cries ALL the tears during pregnancy) and said, "Nope, you won't". I nearly blacked out. "You'll love her completely and absolutely different. Both loves are deep, soul filling, earth shattering, heart breaking & all consuming, but they are intensely unique. Your babies are unique and God doesn't just create babies, He sends them with a love care package that's grown to love them perfectly for who they are".
I clung to that and now, I believe it completely. It's how a Mother who adopts children and also has her own biological children, can love them all with the exact love they need and never run out. We were made in His love and they were given to us to love with the same!
I have 5 children and I’m telling you you can have that love for all of them it’s amazing !!:)

Enjoy your time with your kids/babies because it doesn’t last, it passes so fast, and once they are grownups, they always are doing something else, taking them far away from you… Now, I am really free, but I miss those times when I was cleaning them, feeding them, they were so cute, adorable. Two boys, men now, both married and they know everything better than me, and it’s a fact, the next generation is so much smarter than we are. I loved taking care of my boys.

I can never tell you this enough. Your handwriting is so freaking pretty and I'm severely jealous! Lol also yes I'm completely a chip and cracker person. I haven't been able to have food for years,health issues,and chips,crackers and things along that line are some of the things I crave/miss most.

I also have bad hand writing, should have been a surgeon the way I Wright. Jessica's hand writing is good because she was a teacher she had to have good writing.

I hear you Jessica . It’s taken me around 2 years or so to feel more myself after each of my three children and more so with my last with having her during the pandemic . Knowing what to expect definitely does help . I enjoyed the newborn stage better with my second because I was confident. You will love this baby as much and you will love watching them together 😊. My son is my oldest he is almost 8 and he is so so amazing with my 2 year old . The middle child is the trickiest because she has a lot of jealous feelings toward her sister but I totally understand your thoughts about the transition period or what I call the 4th trimester because it’s definitely not easy ❤️
It gets better and then it gets really great! We have 4 adult children now and I can't tell you the roller coaster ride it's been but if I had a choice between a roller coaster and a merry go round, I'd choose the roller coaster every time. God bless you all!

KEEP THE DOONA!! I have both the Nuna pipa lite w/ stroller as well as the Doona and it's a lifesaver. Especially with traveling. You can easily strap the carseat in to say an uber with the seatbelt, but then you have the base in your car. It's so convenient to just pop the wheels out when you get to your destination vs. getting the stroller out and set up. We still use the Nuna if we go to say the zoo or a longer walk, but for short target trips and dr. visits the Doona is amazing. My son is currently 8 months and we're still using it.

Oh my goodness Jessica! You cannot cry my love! I teared right up with you! I have 5 kiddos. But when I was pregnant with my 2nd child, I felt the same way that you expressed. Trust me when I tell you, you have nothing to worry about! The love you feel…it just multiplies! One of My favorite things as a mom was seeing my 2.5 year old daughter so smitten with her baby sister. And to this day, my girls are SO CLOSE. As a matter of fact, my oldest daughter (and her fiancé) just bought their first house and the only “real criteria” for my daughter was that they move into the same neighborhood her sister (and her family) live in. Lol. They lucked out, and now live 2 minutes from each other. As a mom, their relationship means so much to me. I’m so grateful all 5 of my kids have such a close relationship with one another.
I know for a fact that a lot of parents (especially moms) express the kinds of feelings you spoke about in the vlog. It’s perfectly natural, I think. But oh man, trust me mama, you’ll be “in deep” before you know it! Lol. I promise you have not a thing to worry about! All those ooey gooey feelings you have for Gigi…..you will have just as much for your new baby girl.

Hey Jess, I remember after I had my son I suffered through postpartum depression. I remember the first night being home from the hospital and my husband went to sleep because he worked nights and was on a weird schedule. I felt so alone and so far from him sitting there trying to breast feed my new baby. It took me a while to feel like my normal self and than when I got pregnant with my daughter I was so nervous 😬. When I had to leave my son with my grandma and go to the hospital to deliver my baby girl I was so emotional and wondered how my son would react. Fours years later it brings me so much joy to watch them together and see how much they love each other, and as each day went by it got easier, there are still small bumps in the road but I couldn’t imagine my life without my kids and husband. I thank God everyday for them and I’m so blessed! I know this is what I’m meant to do 💜
IDK if it's something you do, but as soon as you're done w/ the blender, put some water and a splash of dish soap in it, blend it on high for a few seconds then just rinse it and it's clean. Takes a couple seconds if the contents are fresh and not dried on and voila, chore done. Incidentally, if you get a magic bullet, the container you mix in is the cup so it's even easier. When I'm done, I just pop the blade back on w/ some soap and water, blend and it's all clean.

I went through infertility 3 years and had my first daughter. I thought for sure she was my miracle baby and I wouldn’t be able to have another. 3 months later I was pregnant and they are 20 and 21 now, I thought the same thing as you, there is no way I could live another child like I do my first. But you do! It is the best most amazing connections a mother can have. And they are each others best friends. 🥰 you’re an amazing mom, don’t listen to the static.
My parents had a big Rot/German Shepherd mix that had hip displacia and he was huge, I'm talking 120 pounds. He lived to be an old man, like 15 plus years so don't stress too much about Pinocchio. Also, virtual hugs Jess** So happy to hear he won't need surgery. Also, you look beautiful.
I felt/feel the exact same way. When i had my first i didn’t know i could love something so much. I was with my niece her entire life since i was 14 and she’s my best friend. Now that i have my own it’s like… such a different love. And i want my next one soon, and I’m just going to be crying everyday looking at my two babies. Being a mom is just different. Because you made that! It’s a labor of love.

I felt the same except way with the love towards my son when i was pregnant with my second baby. I was like i love him soooo much how the hell can i love something like that twice. And I was really nervous about not having that feeling of love towards her. But right when they put her on my chest my heart exploded!

I felt the exact same way when I was pregnant with my 2nd child, also a girl. My 1st born little girl had my whole heart and was already my perfect little girl that how could I possibly love another baby, especially another little girl as much. Even though she was completely the opposite from my oldest, you’ll love her because she’s a product of the love you & Tyler have for each other. It’ll take a bit more planning & work before going anywhere but you’ll adapt quickly. There’s no doubt you guys will all become a well oiled & functioning family quicker than you think!!
Beautiful moment pondering the very real fear we face as mothers and parents when expanding our family. One day you are going to look back and not remember how life was without two. My oldest still remembers life as an only child, but for me it is hazy at best. Now I have four and I could not tell you what life was like before. It began with them. Your heart grows, Gigi’s heart will grow, and you are going to be a ball of feelings as you watch them together. 😭
When I had my 2 boys, 4 yrs apart, I realized I love them the same amount and differently because they are so individual. Mom love is weird and magic!

maybe its the mom-ness, maybe its the former teacher vibes, or maybe its the fact i kind of envision myself being like her when i get to her age - but jessica always gives me the warm safe feeling of a friend’s mum or one of my nice teachers back when i was in primary (elementary) school. that being said, i’m in my early 20s now😂 but its a comforting nostalgic feeling
