I'm loving the music done by Coldplay for a very long time and enjoyed watching them live. But this one here, if one album or now here, must been played loud, each time and really often. To me it's still the most fantastic and powerful song by Coldplay.
LOL-ing at people who shit on this song and this performance. It's pretty telling that Coldplay haters are the one with awful taste in music, this is Femi Kuti they are working with, one of the legends of the Afrobeat-Jazz music, actual musicians (not 'musicians') love & acknowledge him as one of the best out there. If your definition of good music is loud guitar screech or 3 chords 'rock music' you really don't have a say on what constitute a 'good music' really is.
"Midnight" is their best one since 'Parachutes' and 'A Rush of Blood To The Head' era. But yes, "Arabesque" is quite a gem as well as some other few tracks such as "Atlas", "Trouble in Town", "Ghost Story", "All Your Friends".
yep, he's why i clicked too; saw him at Latitude in 2015, absolutely heart warmingly, blissfully beautiful - had happy tears streaming down my beaming face. ok i'd come off the night shift volunteering and couldnt sleep in the morning as it was too hot so was a bit spaced-out & delirious but it was just what i needed for a sunny afternoon set. his father had already passed before i truly got wind, so he's as close as i could get
This was my favourite moment of the gig. Loved the energy and the end sent shivers down me. Don't know who the guy is next to femi but he's just feeling it in the solo.
@@condimentking414 It's unfortunate it's probably the only album of their career that can be considered a semi-flop commercially. Its chart performance probably explains why the band have focused on a more maximalist, mainstream sound for consecutive eras ever since. Which I can't blame them for, but I do hope we get one final more avant-garde release from them before they stop recording new music like they've hinted at doing soon.
@@MACMAMIthere's a reason for that. This album was never marketed. They just released, did Live in Jordan and just left it there. No worldwide tour, no tour at all, no shows, no marketing. Had they even put in a minimal effort to market the album and even do a few shows like they did during Ghost Stories I have no doubt it would become much much much more succesful

Such an overlooked album and one of their best! 😁🎶
It is good. Very overlooked.
So true! = A seriously underrated Coldplay album. They also played Orphans in a recent Music of The Spheres tour leg.
the Jordan performance is the best thing they've ever done.
They're really only playing Orphans nowadays, this was a one-off for Glastonbury. Shame, because it's their best album in the last 10 years.
@@iron___ It is. It's their most risky, adventurous, varied album and hopefully over time more people will give it the credit it deserves.
