This is gold. A Greg Stump film produced during his absolute prime. You would think Rollerblade the company would have a bunch of these tapes lying around. Or maybe Stump himself.
I didn't know I would wake up today and watch the first inline skate video ever produced. But here I am. This is exactly why I subscribe to this channel; it is such a beautiful thing.
I’ve seen and felt some of this energy still going in recreational/free skating meet ups. The popularity of quad skating on social media has no doubt got people interested in the freedom of wheels on feet again. Good times.
@@flyingonblades I think it’s a diff remix but interesting that two separate rollerblade Videos’s with about 6/7 years between them thought this jam goes well with blading 😂
Yeah, there had to have been at least a few hundred of these tapes made so there’s gotta be a few left for sure. AJ helped with some stuff in regards to the production of barely dead so I would guess that he contributed the footage but then deleted it for hard drive space or whatever by the time I asked for it. Doug Urquhart was the filmmaker behind barely dead
Also if we’re taking Luc Robitaille at his word about when he got on skates and his point totals took off, it would’ve been summer 1984 (between the 83/84 and 84/85 seasons)
17:20 dude skating around with sail in a parking lot .. joey: that never took off - incredible accidental pun
This is the definition of street skating! the moves the gear the attitude the freedom! 💛🖤
Mike you’re the man!! You deserve the Blade historian 2024 award 🥇!
Omg thanks my friend 🔮🐬

Yeah, now that you mention it, I’m sure Greg probably has it, but either way it will always be archived on my channel 🫡
This is incredible. McFly keeping history alive. Thanks Boomer Boys
@@matthewsumma we don’t even count as Gen X.
Thank you, Top G 🫡
@@MushroomBlading We are the greatest generation of all time, the Rollerblading film confirms this.
This was so much better than the Spandex videos, Rollerblade did later.
Also, we ARE lucky to have psycho skate nerds like Mike. Mike you the goat 🐐
Big props to anybody making sure the history before “aggressive in-line skating” is preserved and celebrated.
Great as always. Thanks to Mike for preserving this history and for Mushroom Blading to provide their insight documenting this activity.
Thank you, Nick!! 🤩

Those happy enthusiastic people, it`s wild. Thinking of our "no smiling"- rule when skating :-)
Haha I still remember “smilegate”

Jill Schulz; her father created the peanuts cartoons, and now she owns a theme park and hires skaters like Jaren Grob to do stunt shows in the summers
Wow, what a backstory/update.
@ I should’ve mentioned it 🙃
@@flyingonbladesthere’s so much history to cover in this one VHS capture.
You the man Mike
the people need more of this! live watch smell the onion!
Blading is freedom
Somebody once said “freedom boots set you free”
Yep before Chris Edwards was Bruce Action Jackson. The OG Rollerblade star.
🐐🐐🐐🐐
Damn the white lightnings with black frames look nice
I prefer the blue on white like in my channel logo but both are GOATED 🫡
Holy! What a treat, amazing! lol
That first track “last night changed it all” is in Some Free Advice…
Wow very interesting 🤔

That was my first video.
B.C. Before Chris
I’m gonna use that one for sure.
Mike McFly you a legend 🙌🙌
Big legend for tracking the tape down and preserving the early history.
@25:46 Someone should come out with a skate called the liberator
I either say skating, inline skating or blading.
Skating usually not enough for non bladers, you'll have to explain :D
Whata story!! Mike is tha real deal ❤️🔥
Thank you, Sir! 🫡
Have you guys ever done commentary on the movie Airborne?
We have not! but we will eventually do that one for sure.
When did this become antiques roadshow? 😁😁😁
@@ravenouspathogen a very special edition this one is.
Some of that footage was in "Barely Dead". So whoever made that may have it and more old videos.

I want to see someone fly into a big gap or onto a rail with the sail.
Guys will see that and say “hell yeah” 😋
